Abstract

This research aims to analyze the dimensions of online student engagement for students of the Faculty of Psychology, Padjadjaran University, during the online learning period and the demographic factors that influence it. The method used in this research was non-experimental with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were students of level one to level four of the Bachelor of Psychology Program at Padjadjaran University, totaling 94 people (level one = 26.6%, level two = 20.2%, level three = 25.5%, and level four = 27.7%), which was obtained using the method stratified random sampling. The instrument used was the Online Student Engagement Questionnaire (SEQ), totaling thirty-one items. The analysis technique used was descriptive analysis and t-test. The results of this study indicated that Psychology Undergraduate Program students had different levels of involvement in each online SEQ dimension. Students in this study showed high involvement in online engagement, active online learning, online teaching, online social interaction, online collaboration, and online contact with staff. However, they did not show involvement in the online academic relevance dimension. Moreover, the demographic factors affected student involvement in each online SEQ dimension in online learning, including class, gender, regional origin, learning facilities, study groups, and socioeconomic status.

Abstract

The construct of happiness at work is very important in research related to human resource management. Testing the reliability and construct validity of the happiness at work scale is important to measure and assess happiness at work in employees in Indonesia. This study aims to collect evidence of the validity of the internal structure of the Indonesian version of happiness at work. The study involved 297 active employees in private companies, state-owned enterprises, government agencies and other institutions in Indonesia, through online questionnaire completion. Data were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) on a 31-item measuring instrument. Reliability of 31-items using Cronbach's Alpha is 0.949 with goodness of fit values (RMSEA 0.079, CFI 0.97 and NNFI 0.97) after modification. It can be concluded that the 31 favorable items can be used to measure happiness at work’s employees in Indonesia.Konstruk happiness at work atau kebahagiaan di tempat kerja menjadi sangat penting dalam penelitian terkait manajemen sumber daya manusia. Pengujian reliabilitas dan validitas konstruk happiness at work scale ini menjadi penting untuk mengukur dan menilai happiness at work pada karyawan di Indonesia. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengumpulkan bukti validitas struktur internal happiness at work versi Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini melibatkan 297 karyawan aktif di perusahaan swasta, BUMN, instansi pemerintahan dan lembaga lainnya di Indonesia, melalui pengisian kuesioner secara daring. Analisis data menggunakan Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) terhadap alat ukur 31-item. Abstract

This study aims to identify the relationship and role of romantic breakups on impulsive buying in college students. This study used a non-experimental correlational method with a quantitative approach through regression and descriptive statistical analysis. The sampling technique used in this study was non-probability sampling with a saturation sampling method. The subjects consisted of 62 students of the Faculty of Psychology at a University in Bandung who had experienced a romantic breakup. Data was collected through an online questionnaire containing the Breakup Distress Scale (BDS) and Impulse Buying Tendency Scale (IBTS) measuring instruments using the help of Google Forms. Data analysis techniques used Pearson's Correlation test and regression test. The results of this research showed that there was no significant role of distress due to a romantic breakup in impulsive buying (r2 = 0.004; p = 0.605).

Abstract

The topic of happiness at work cannot be separated from the aspects of the workplace, work environment, and job characteristics which have an essential role in shaping work happiness. Considering the importance of these aspects, there are differences in the types of work from one job to another are one of the causes that can lead to differences in happiness in the workplace. In Indonesia, the types of work that are pretty different are state-owned public companies and start-up companies. The fundamental differences are in almost all aspects of the organization, some of which are the way of interacting with colleagues and superiors, the intensity of using gadgets and information technology, salaries, facilities, and working hours. This research is non-experimental quantitative research, with a sampling approach, a non-probability sampling with a convenience sampling technique. Ninety-eight employees from a state-owned public company and 69 from a start-up company were collected by self-administered questionnaires. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from the employees. The results showed that the level of happiness at work of employees in the state-owned public company and start-up company was at the same level, slightly happy (M = 4.2 and M = 4.79). The same result is identified for the work's dimension, slightly happy (M = 4.64 and M = 4.91). The start-up shows a higher value between these two companies than the state-owned public company. This result does not differ from other companies, such as public universities, small and medium-sized enterprises, and nurses from private hospitals.

Abstract

The implementation of full-remote and hybrid working systems continues to improve and be maintained now. In addition to the convenience, remote working affects the psychological condition of workers. Human Resource (HR) workers who perform remote working need to ensure their psychological condition because they become role models for employees in the company. This study aims to get a comprehensive overview of the well-being of HR workers who implement full-remote and hybrid systems. Qualitative research methods are used with thematic comparison analysis. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The characteristics of the respondents in this study are 1) HR employees; 2) Work for a minimum of 6 months; 3) Implement a remote working system (full remote or hybrid working). The research respondents consisted of four people, which are two full-remote workers and two hybrid workers. This study shows that overall remote working can simplify the work processes of employees because its flexibility. On the other hand, the differences were found between the two types of remote working, specifically full-remote work system gives employees more flexibility in managing their work, but workers tend to feel social isolation. Meanwhile, the hybrid work system makes it easier for workers to meet social needs, but workers tend to increase physical complaints. The results of this study can become practical suggestions at the individual, managerial and organizational levels in providing specific guidelines for remote working.

Abstract

Currently, one business model that is particularly prevalent in Indonesia and has an impact on state revenue is start-up. There is one technology start-up in Indonesia that also influences economic development in Indonesia, namely company X. Behind the good performance of technology start-ups, there are roles of workers, culture, and the environment. Start-up X has a culture, namely a flexible work arrangement in which employees can have the freedom to choose when and where to work. This flexibility also has a lot of impact on the way of work and also the daily life of the workers. Flexible work arrangement (FWA) works as resources in a company. The high freedom affects workers’ engagement. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of flexible work arrangements on the work engagement of employees at Start-up Company X. This research was conducted on 102 workers selected with a convenience sampling technique. This study uses a non-experimental research design with a correlational study method. Data collection was carried out using the Flexible Work Arrangement measuring tool adapted from Umi Farida (2020) and the Indonesian Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES)-17 questionnaire from Schaufeli (2004). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant effect (p<0.001; R2=0.245) of the flexible work arrangement on the work engagement of employees at start-up company X. It means if there is a change in flexible work arrangement, it will impact the result of the work engagement. Our research adds new insights about the impact of FWA and WE variables on startup companies. Furthermore, when FWA is supported by adequate job resources and balanced with job demands, it can improve employee’s WE in startup companies. This study can provide information on future research on FWA and WE variables in start-up companies and with FWA supported by job resources that are balanced with job demand, will increase the WE of start-up company workers.

Abstract

Bonus demografi dan tingginya pengangguran di Indonesia mengakibatkan persaingan yang ketat di pasar dunia kerja. Untuk itu, mahasiswa tingkat akhir sebagai calon lulusan yang akan menghadapi dunia kerja perlu memiliki kesiapan kerja (employability) agar dapat bersaing dengan calon lulusan lainnya dalam upaya mendapatkan tempat kerja. Perguruan tinggi memiliki peran vital dalam pengembangan kesiapan kerja. Struktur yang dibuat oleh perguruan tinggi untuk mendukung employability mahasiswa disebut dengan employability development opportunities (EDO). Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran EDO terhadap employability mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad). Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimental dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode analisis regresi linier berganda. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 86 mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Psikologi Unpad yang diperoleh menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner online yang juga disebarkan secara online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa enam jenis EDO, yaitu curriculum, work experience, career development learning, real world activities, personal development planning, dan extracurricular activities memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap employability sebesar 34.5%. Selain itu, ditemukan pula bahwa terdapat peran yang signifikan dari jenis personal development planning terhadap employability mahasiswa sebesar 27.4%. Artinya, semakin tinggi/banyak program yang diberikan pada jenis tersebut kepada mahasiswa, maka akan semakin tinggi pula kesiapan kerjanya.

Abstract

SMA Negeri (SMAN) dengan status Rintisan Sekolah Bertaraf Internasional (RSBI) adalah SMAN yang mendapatkan kesempatan untuk menjadi sekolah percontohan yang bertaraf internasional. Dengan berstatus RSBI, Guru SMAN RSBI memiliki tuntutan pekerjaan (job demand) yang lebih berat jika dibandingkan dengan Guru SMAN lainnya. SMAN RSBI menggunakan kurikulum yang berbeda, akibatnya guru SMAN RSBI dituntut untuk menyusun rencana pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan kurikulum tersebut. Sekolah memberikan dukungan (job-resource) pada guru dalam bentuk pelatihan soft skill untuk menunjang kinerja guru dan memberikan kebebasan untuk guru berinovasi memilih metode pembelajaran yang digunakan. Dengan dukungan ini, diharapkan guru dapat menjawab tantangan tugas dan merasa lebih terikat pada pekerjaannya (work engagement). Dengan work engagement yang tinggi, guru dapat memberikan performa kerja yang optimal dan juga menjadi performa sekolah. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 50 Guru di SMAN X RSBI, dengan menggunakan total sampling atau sampel jenuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur yang diadaptasi dari Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) dengan tipe kuesioner self-administered questionnaire. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa work engagement (M=223.06) pada Guru SMAN X RSBI tergolong kedalam kategori tinggi baik secara umum maupun pada setiap dimensinya. Berdasarkan dimensinya, dedication (M = 80.6) merupakan dimensi yang memiliki skor paling tinggi

Abstract

Perawat Kesehatan Jiwa yang bekerja di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat memiliki beban dan kondisi kerja yang berat seperti harus bertindak cepat dan cermat dalam menangani pasien, harus sabar untuk mengetahui apa yang dibutuhkan pasien karena kondisi mental pasien yang labil, dan harus siap siaga menangani kejadian-kejadian yang tidak terduga selama menjalankan tugasnya, seperti ketika terdapat pasien yang mencoba melukai diri sendiri atau orang lain. Beratnya beban dan kondisi kerja mereka dapat menimbulkan stres dan membuat kesejahteraan psikologis mereka menjadi terganggu. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kesejahteraan psikologis pada perawat kesehatan jiwa di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat. Rancangan penelitian ini adalah non-eksperimental kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi deskriptif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 125 perawat kesehatan jiwa yang bekerja di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat. Jenis sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah quota sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 96% responden masuk kedalam kategori Psychological Well-Being tinggi yang berarti sebanyak 96% perawat kesehatan jiwa di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat memiliki sikap positif terhadap dirinya, mampu menjalin hubungan interpersonal yang hangat dan penuh kepercayaan, mandiri dan mampu membuat keputusan berdasarkan standar personal yang dimiliki, mempunyai kompetensi untuk mengontrol lingkungan, memiliki tujuan dan target dalam hidup, serta merasakan adanya perkembangan dalam diri. Perawat kesehatan jiwa di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Provinsi Jawa Barat memiliki skor tinggi di keenam dimensi pembentuk kesejahteraan psikologis, yaitu self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, dan personal growth.

Abstract

Findings suggested that health laboratory workers were faced with quite high job demands but still felt a positive situation related to their welfare at work during the pandemic. This condition refers to the concept of work engagement. Thus, this study aims to examine the level of work engagement of laboratory workers during Covid-19 pandemic. A descriptive study was conducted on a random sample of 33 laboratory workers who are included in the Covid-19 team. Data were collected via online self-administered questionnaire using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17). Results showed that generally laboratory workers (60.6%) had a very high level of work engagement (M = 78.21). Based on the dimension of work engagement, the highest average score was vigor (M = 27.09), compared to dedication (M = 25.64) and absorption (M = 25.49). It is concluded that laboratory workers are very engaged in their work by having a positive perception of their work with a very high energy level, dedication, and involvement in work. Salah satu tenaga kesehatan yaitu petugas laboratorium kesehatan dihadapkan dengan tuntutan pekerjaan yang cukup tinggi namun masih merasakan keadaan positif yang berhubungan dengan kesejahteraannya dalam bekerja selama masa pandemi. Kondisi ini mengacu pada konsep work engagement. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian non-eksperimental deskriptif kuantitatif untuk melihat gambaran work engagement petugas laboratorium kesehatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 33 petugas laboratorium kesehatan yang termasuk dalam Tim Covid-19 dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner secara daring dengan alat ukur Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-17). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara umum petugas laboratorium kesehatan (60,6%) memiliki tingkat work engagement yang sangat tinggi (M = 78,21) selama pandemi Covid-19. Berdasarkan dimensinya, skor rata-rata paling tinggi adalah dimensi vigor (M = 27,09) dibandingkan dengan dimensi dedication (M = 25,64) dan absorption (M = 25,49). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa petugas laboratorium kesehatan memiliki keterikatan yang sangat tinggi dengan pekerjaan mereka dengan memiliki persepsi yang positif dengan pekerjaannya dengan energi, dedikasi, dan keterlibatan terhadap pekerjaan yang sangat tinggi.
