Abstract

Time series forecasting is a method used to determine what might happen in the future based on information obtained in the past. One method used in time series forecasting is a Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method. This method can be used for time series data with trend and seasonality components. This method is based on three smoothing equations: overall smoothing, trend, and seasonal components. Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method consists of multiplicative and additive seasonality models. The method of this research is literature study by collecting and studying references that are relevant to the idea of this research, and then applying the Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method into data. The results of this research show that the multiplicative seasonality model of Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method can be used if data represent an increase in long-term and seasonal fluctuations which is the increasingly bigger with the increasing of observation time periods. These patterns identify the non-stationary of mean and variance. While, the additive seasonality model can be used if data show an increase in long-term and seasonal fluctuations that are relatively constant with the increasing of observation time. Time series forecasting is a method used to determine what might happen in the future based on information obtained in the past. Abstract

A technology is essentially created to make human life easier and more comfortable. There is almost no area of human life that is free from its use, either directly or indirectly. This is also a result of the very rapid development of technology. Technology was created to facilitate every human activity. Born from human thoughts that try to facilitate their activities which are then applied in everyday life, one of which is in the teaching and learning process in schools. Thus in the learning process, technology can be used as a learning resource. Today, technology products have become a daily necessity in carrying out life activities. The use of cellphones and internet is not something strange or new anymore. Mobile is an electronic telecommunication device which has basic capabilities conventionally which is easy to carry and does not need to be connected to a telephone network using a cable. Mobile has a function to receive calls or SMS (short messages), cellphones can also function as a means of tracing, recording all activities, as a means of information and can even be used to explore the world of the internet depending on the features of the cellphone.

Abstract

Abstrak. PT. Abstract. PT. XYZ is a state-owned manufacturing company in Indonesia that produces both military and non-military products. This study employs the Six Sigma methodology using the DMAIC stages (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) to identify issues through Critical to Quality (CTQ) and assess performance using DPU, DPO, DPMO, and sigma levels. The analysis revealed a DPMO value of 2091.46 with an average sigma level of 5.24. The primary causes of defects were identified using Pareto diagrams, p-charts, and fishbone diagrams, highlighting significant contributions from human, machine, material, and environmental factors. The proposed improvements include employee training to enhance understanding of SOPs, scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance for machinery, replacement of or collaboration with new vendors for raw materials, and workplace enhancements with centrifugal cooling systems and ear protection equipment. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to reduce defect rates, improve product quality, and enhance the efficiency of E-Clips production in the TC-AP Division of PT. XYZ sustainably.

Abstract

Applying ergonomic principles in work tool design for manufacturing industries is a crucial factor in improving productivity while maintaining worker health. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of adaptive work tool design models based on cognitive and physiological ergonomic principles, identify interaction patterns between workstation design and operational performance, and develop a conceptual framework for integrating ergonomic principles into production cycles. The research method adopts a cognitive-physiological approach with qualitative analysis of human-machine interactions, biomechanical simulations using digital human modeling, and muscle load measurements through electromyography. Implementation was conducted using a participatory ergonomics approach and IMU sensor-based real-time monitoring systems. Results show that using materials with controlled deformation capabilities (15-20%) in work tools reduces muscle work by up to 27%, while adaptive automation system integration improves assembly accuracy by 18%. Workstations with ergonomic adjustments increase assembly speed by an average of 12%, and low-cost ergonomic interventions effectively improve productivity by 11-15% in resource-limited environments. Longitudinal analysis reveals that evidence-based ergonomic investments yield a 230% ROI through increased productivity, reduced injury compensation costs, and decreased employee turnover. IMU-based posture monitoring systems integrated with adaptive feedback loops reduced musculoskeletal disorder incidents by up to 41%. In conclusion, ergonomic optimization based on cognitive-physiological principles creates synergy between production efficiency and worker well-being, making it an essential component in achieving sustainable productivity.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the evolving role of Quality Engineering (QE) in optimizing production processes within Industry 4.0 contexts. By analyzing 78 peer-reviewed studies (2010–2025), the research identifies critical shifts in QE methodologies, emphasizing integration with artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and real-time digital twin technologies. Key findings reveal enhanced robustness through adaptive optimization algorithms (e.g., Bayesian optimization, NSGA-II), improved defect prediction via AI-driven quality control systems, and streamlined process interoperability through Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Quality 4.0 frameworks. The study underscores digital integration as a catalyst for reducing variability, accelerating decision-making, and aligning quality management with Industry 4.0’s demands for agility and interconnected systems. Recommendations include adopting hybrid methodologies combining classical Six Sigma with ML-driven analytics and investing in workforce training for digital QMS adoption.

Abstract

This study examines the application of Quality Engineering methods to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a community service program. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies conducted via a webinar at Universitas Sehati Indonesia (USINDO), the research explores how systematic quality improvement strategies can be introduced and adapted for MSMEs to enhance product quality and competitiveness, this study analyzed scientific publications, community service reports, and quality improvement program documentation from 2019-2024. The findings demonstrate that Quality Engineering principles-including Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Seven Basic Tools of Quality, and Statistical Process Control (SPC)-significantly enhance product quality when adapted to SMEs' specific contexts. Case studies reveal improvements ranging from 29.5% to 97.92% across various aspects including customer satisfaction, food safety, and production efficiency. The research identifies key challenges in implementation, including technical knowledge limitations, resource constraints, and difficulties in maintaining long-term changes. The successful integration of Quality Engineering methods depends on active participation from SME stakeholders, approaches tailored to local contexts, and continuous post-program mentoring. This study contributes to developing an integrative framework that combines Quality Engineering principles with practical SME needs, supporting sustainable quality culture development in the SME sector.
