Abstract

Conflicts between religions, intolerance and violence in the name of religion is on the rise in the recent years. Attitudes such as mutual suspicion, disrespect for each other, and disharmony of life have become a reality of life among religious communities. Without tolerance, harmony between religions will be difficult to realize, because tolerance is inevitable for religious communities. Tolerance is also part of the theology vision or Islamic Aqeeda as taught in the Quran. Therefore, in depth study on tolerance may help the stakeholders in their effort to minimize religious conflict and establish harmony among the religious believers.

Abstract

Abstract: Social diversities in a nation state is inevitable due to knowledge, sensory, intelligent and communication barriers. In social interaction, this limitation creates groupings in a society known as identity. Unfortunately, constellation among identities not only produced collaboration but often resulted in violence and casualties. This unfavorable constellation generally takes place in the transition period during which the country is still concentrating on improving its mechanisms towards a fair, transparent and open democratic system. The maintenance of religious harmony in Aceh is regulated in Aceh Qanun, Article 9, paragraph 1 of 2015. This article aims to describe the implementation of religious harmony in its connection with the article. The local Government has done three measures to maintain religious harmonies such as the establishment of FKUB  (Forum for Religious Harmony) and its Advisory Board and Understanding and Socialization of Joint Regulation of the Ministry of Religion and Ministry of Interior No. 9 of 2006 / No. 8 of 2006 Abstrak: Dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara, keragaman memiliki akar mendalam berdasarkan keterbatasan pada pengetahuan, penginderaan, akal dan komunikasi bahasa.

Abstract

In the sociological perspective, religion is not only doctrinal-ideology and abstract but also appears in the forms of materials in everyday life. Anthropologists and sociologist, for example, argue that the human phases from the Stone, Copper, and Bronze to the Iron Age where humans gathered food by hunting, farming, and industrialization influence their interpretation of religion. In the hunting period, they feared and trembled when seeing towering trees, large rocks, high and steep cliffs, and floods. Such fear and shock feelings caused dependency and in turn led them to plead for help by worshiping them. This article focuses on the sociological views of the definition, origin, and aspects of religion. Religion is understood as a social phenomenon embraced by a society and is viewed as a part of a culture. Religion and religious life are integral elements of the human life and cultural systems. Religion and religious behaviors grow and develop from the sense of human dependence on the supernatural power which they believe as the source of life. Thus, in the sociological perspective, there are some very important aspects in practicing the religion i.e., religious belief, religious ritual, religious experience, and religious community.

Abstract

The people of Aceh, which are known as the majority are Muslim, have various customs and traditions and cultures. However, some of the culture and customs of the Acehnese people do not come purely from Islam, but come from Hindu culture, such as Kenduri Blang, Kenduri Laot and Peusijuek culture. Peusijuek is a Hindu culture that has been Islamicized in accordance with Islamic law and has been carried out from generation to generation until now, the Islamization of Hindu culture occurred during the time of Sulthan Ali Mughayat Syah. The symbiotic relationship that occurred between the Acehnese people and the Hindu tradition had occurred thousands of years ago, because before Islam entered Aceh, Hinduism developed earlier in Aceh, so the culture used by the Acehnese at that time was Hindu culture, a symbiotic relationship. This was preceded by trade relations to establishing friendships between nations as well as resulting in cultural contact and inter-ethnic relations, which developed naturally in Aceh at that time. The method in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out through interviews, observation, literature review by reading a number of books related to this research and documentation. The results showed that some of the Blang Bintang community acknowledged that the customs prevailing in Aceh were still influenced by Hindu culture. One of them is the peusijuek culture. The people of Blang Bintang believe that Peusijuek is a Hindu culture that has long developed in Aceh as a legacy from previous ancestors. However, things that are contrary to Islamic teachings have been adjusted after the Islamic Religion came and spread in Aceh.

Abstract

This paper raises the issue of Sufism with the title "Sufism and Plurality in the Qur'an". Pluralism is derived from pluralist Latin, from pluris namely more than one, the plural. Therefore something said to be plural always consists of many things, various types, different points of view and background. Religious pluralism holds that no one is entitled to claim that religion is the most correct, all religions in this view have their own righteousness. The problem is that these pluralists always express the legitimacy of the Sufis, but the recognition of pluralism by the great Sufis may not exist in the Sufi tradition. From there, they assume that the idea of religious pluralism has indeed existed in the intellectual tradition of Islam and certainly based on Islamic teachings. The trend of harmonizing religions can be found from the two concepts that always reap the polemic and controversy that is the concept of unity of religions or better known in the world of tasawwuf with wahdat al-adyăn and the concept of religious pluralism or better known in the world of philosophy with religious pluralism. So pluralism Religion is every religious person who is required not only to recognize the existence and rights of other schools, but to engage in understanding the similarities and differences in order to achieve harmony in diversity.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has various ethnicities and religions which are a multicultural wealth. The next problem is that inter-religious conflicts are prone to occur if religious differences are not regulated and controlled properly. Differences in point of view between each religion will cause religious problems that have an impact on religious tolerance. Therefore, according to Tarmizi Taher, it is necessary to carry out religious dialogue so that fellow believers understand each other. If each religion does not find common ground for their beliefs, at least they can respect each other's differences. According to Tarmizi Taher, dialogue is closely related to the empowerment of the people. Dialogue without further empowerment will be temporary (temporal), therefore it is necessary to empower the people as a further step in maintaining religious harmony. Religious dialogue is ideal when it is displayed between fellow religious leaders. Furthermore, each leader will provide an understanding to each congregation regarding the importance of tolerance in order to live. The empowerment of Tarmizi Taher people includes economic empowerment, poverty eradication, empowerment of religious teachings, ethical empowerment and social empowerment.

The results showed that the Indonesian government’s efforts to ground the values of religious moderation through the mouthpiece of the Ministry of Religious Affairs have strategic values, but it is not as easy as turning the palm, it will solve the intolerance problem.

Abstract

This study examines the conflict in establishing houses of worship in Indonesia and the problems faced with PBM policies No. 9 and 8 of 2006. This research is purely a literature study using a qualitative approach. The government guarantees freedom of religion and performs worship according to their religion. Unfortunately, in PBM Numbers 9 and 8 of 2006, the policy of establishing houses of worship in its implementation takes work. The problem of establishing places of worship occurs due to the government's need for more socialization with the public regarding policies for the establishment of houses of worship, bureaucratic policies that tend to be discriminatory, and local religious leaders. Its are not involved in Such policies can potentially lead to the dualism of authority, unclear policies can lead to multiple interpretations, and in the perspective of human rights, these policies ignore human rights. Therefore, the government needs to reorganize or deconstruct the policy for establishing houses of worship in PBM Numbers 9 and 8 of 2006 so that there will be no conflict over establishing places of worship in the future.
