Abstract

Food is a basic human need for survival, therefore it must be healthy, and free from bacterial contamination and toxic substances. Food can be a source of disease transmission if hygiene is not maintained properly during food handling and food hygiene is not observed during food processing. Food sanitation is important for canteen managers to pay attention to, especially school canteens which provide large quantities of food and have a high level of consumers. The aim of this research is to find out the description of sanitation and personal hygiene of school canteens in the working area of Banjarnegara Health Center 1.             This research is descriptive with a cross sectional method. The population includes school canteen food handlers in the work area of Puskesmas Banjarnegara 1 who sell their food in school canteens in June 2024, namely 20 school canteens with sampling using the random sampling method. The data used in this research are primary data obtained from interviews and field observations as well as secondary data from Puskesmas Banjarnegara 1.             The results of this study show that the majority of food handlers are female (95%), aged 15-40 at most (60%), have at least junior high school education (50%), canteen sanitation is in the good category (55%), personal hygiene in the good category (100%) and existing regulations (25%).             This research shows that sanitation is mostly good and overall personal hygiene is good. Food handlers are expected to pay more attention to food sanitation, especially by providing hand washing facilities with soap and providing rubbish bin facilities.

Abstract

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a piece of equipment that must be used when working according to occupational hazards and risks to maintain the safety of the worker himself and the people around him. The risks from work in cutting and drilling are exposure to dust and exposure to the machine. The purpose of this study is to find out the overview of knowledge, compliance and existence of PPE at UD Cipta Guna Kreasi. This study is a descriptive research using the cross sectional method. The respondents in this study were 30 employees in part of cutting, drilling, sorting, weaving and packaging  at UD Cipta Guna Kreasi. The observed variables are employee characteristics, knowledge and compliance in using PPE. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from observations, interviews, questionnaires, checklists and secondary data. The results of the study were the availability of PPE only (14.3%), Employees' knowledge about PPE was mostly in the good category, namely (50.0%). The level of compliance is in the section of the compliance level (12.5%), for the compliant drilling part (22.2%), in the sorting section (25.0%) and in the weaving and packaging section (20.0%). The conclusion in this study is that compliance with the use of PPE is still low due to the low level of education, which is the most elementary school graduates (40.0%), and the availability of PPE also affects the absence of complete and standard PPE. Suggestions for UD Cipta Guna Kreasi must provide complete PPE that meets SNI standards.

Abstract

Eco-fishing port is the port management being planned and implemented at several fishing ports in Indonesia. PPS Cilacap is designated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries to implement this principle, however, there are environmental issues faced by PPS Cilacap, such as sedimentation and waste accumulation in fishing port basin. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the implementation of the eco-fishing port principle at PPS Cilacap in 2025. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study consisted of 3 people who are part of the eco-fishing port implementation team, the Facilities and Infrastructure Management Team, and the manager of the fish auction site that selected using purposive sampling to gather information regarding waste management, supporting facilities, and hygiene-sanitation of the Fish Auction Place at PPS Cilacap. The result of this study indicate that the variables with the highest score was the environmental management system, waste management system, supporting facilities conditions, and environmental management. The variable with the least score is the sanitation and hygiene condition of the fish auction site. Four assessed parameters were found in good condition, while one parameter still requires improvement. The suggested recommendation includes implementing personal hygiene regulations and providing access cards for TPI visitors, replacing uncovered trash bins with covered ones, and increasing the toilets at fish auction site with separate facilities for men and women to enhance accessibility.

Abstract

Hospitals as public service facilities, play a vital role in addressing various health issues; however, they also have the potential to become sources of nosocomial infections, which are infections acquired by patients during hospitalization. This study aims to describe the physical quality of inpatient rooms one of hospitals at Banjarnegara, focusing on parameters including temperature, humidity, noise level, lighting, and ventilation rate. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach, utilizing measurement tools such as thermometers, hygrometers, sound level meters, lux meters, and anemometers. The population in this study includes all inpatient rooms, with a sample of 45 rooms selected through proportional random sampling. The study was conducted from April to June 2025, and the data were analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that most of the temperature (75.6%), humidity (77.8%), and ventilation rate (54.5%) measurements did not meet the standards, while the noise level (84.4%) and lighting (77.8%) were within acceptable limits. In conclusion, the physical quality of inpatient rooms has not fully complied with the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023, indicating the need for improvements to create an environment that supports the patient recovery process.
