Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of success of children's scientific skills before and after being given action through experimental methods for children aged 5-6 years. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) by having steps including preparation (RPPH), implementing actions, observing / observing, and also reflecting at each meeting. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each stage of the cycle includes planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects in this study consisted of 12 children including 5 girls and 7 boys. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, and interviews. The results of data analysis showed an increase in Pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II respectively as follows: no child succeeded in achieving the development of simple scientific skills in Pre-cycle 0 children (0%). Furthermore, there were 3 children (25%) who succeeded in achieving simple science development in Cycle I. And 9 children (75%) who succeeded in achieving simple science development in cycle II. From the description above it can be concluded that through the experimental method can improve the scientific skills of children aged 5-6 years.

The hypothesis proposed is that project-based learning strategies can foster students' creativity effectively. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation during the learning process. The results of the study revealed that the application of project-based learning strategies that prioritize collaboration between students, exploration of innovative ideas, and active reflection on the learning process and products. These findings confirm that project-based learning is an effective and relevant approach to be developed in the world of education to prepare students to face future challenges

Abstract

This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5–6 years through the application of the rubbing technique using crayon media at State Kindergarten 15 Mendalo Darat. The problem identified in this research is that children's fine motor development is still not optimal, particularly in eye-hand coordination and finger control. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 14 children in group B. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings showed a significant improvement in children’s fine motor skills in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average achievement was 35% (Starting to Develop). It increased to 59% (Developing as Expected) in Cycle I, and reached 97% (Very Well Developed) in Cycle II. These results indicate that the rubbing technique using crayon media is highly effective in enhancing children’s fine motor skills. This technique not only strengthens small muscle coordination but also provides a creative and enjoyable learning experience for children
