Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to determine the growth and yield of onion that were given growth regulator (PGR) and NPK fertilizer on spodosol. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) of factorial pattern with two factors: (1) growth regulator (0, 3, 6, and 9 mL.L-1 ), and (2) NPK fertilizer (0, 150, 300, and 450 kg ha-1). The results of this study showed tha giving of PGR increased the crop growth rate of plants aged 14-21 day after planting (1.057 g.m-2 day -1) and 21-28 day after planting (1.089 g.m-2 day-1) with the best concentration of 6 mL.L-1 water. The best NPK fertilizer dosage of 300 kg.ha-1 was able to increase plant height at 42 day after planting (46,89 cm), leaf area 21, 28 and 35 day after planting (541,22 cm2, 717,37 cm2, and 714 , 29 cm2), weight of fresh stover (75,50 g), weight of dry stover (66,19 g) and tuber weight per plot (4,520,25 g).Key words : onion, plant growth regulator (PGR), NPK, spodosol

Abstract

Bukit Liti Village is one of villages located in the Kahayan Tengah Sub-district, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. Most people there tap rubber tree simply managed to produce bokar (rubber materials). In making bokar, rubber farmers use coagulant materials that can damage the rubber quality and soak bokar in water pool/creeks which lower the rubber quality and produce bad smell. To solve the problem, a training is conducted to make a simple pyrolysis reactor to produce liquid smoke which will be used as latex coagulant preventing and reducing bad smell and improving the bokar quality. Pyrolysis reactor is made from a used oil tank, and other materials with a thermometer to measure reactor temperature. The reactor is designed to allow a minimum oxygen combustion. The production of rubber wood liquid smoke for latex coagulation process in this research with 50 kg of old rubber wood materials has obtained 125 ml liquid smoke for 4-hour production time. The use of liquid smoke as latex coagulant gives real impacts for farmers such as: environmental friendly, to prevent bacterial growth and oxidation in the latex and latex lump, to prevent and reduce bad smells of bokar from the plantation, during storage and rubber processing in the rubber processing factory. The technology advantages of the liquid smoke are: faster coagulation, high elasticity, able to increase dry rubber content, relatively same price with other coagulant, to increase quality and selling price, produce clean latex and free of environment pollutant.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality and chemical composition of corn straw silage with the addition of various silage additives. The study used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments, namely P1 (corn straw + 10% rice bran), P2 (corn straw + EM4 10%), P3 (corn straw + 10% milled corn), and P4 (corn straw + tapioca flour 10%). Parameters observed are physical quality, fermentative quality, and chemical composition of corn straw silage. The results showed that the physical qualities of all treatments gave the same results. The pH and Fleigh Scores of all treatments show no significant difference (P>0.05). The content of DM, OM, and CP from  all treatments show no significant difference (P>0.05),while the CF show a significant difference (P<0.05). From the results of this study, it is concluded that the addition of EM4 as a silage additive gave the best results on corn straw silage.

Abstract

Tampelas Village is located in Kamipang District, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Most of the residents have their main livelihood as traditional fishermen. Beef cattle farming is also carried out in Tampelas Village by several members of the community in a traditional way. Farmers lack knowledge regarding the management of the health of their livestock. The capacity building training in livestock health management aims to provide farmers with knowledge, insight, and skills related to the management of the health of beef cattle. The training consists of delivering material, hands-on practice by farmers, and discussions. The material presented included prevention, identification of livestock conditions and diseases, introduction of types of medicines, and handling of sick livestock. The activity was attended by farmers, village officials and staff from the relevant Katingan Regency Goverment. Training activities to increase the capacity of livestock health management in Tampelas Village went well. Beef cattle farmers in Tampelas Village are enthusiastic and welcome the livestock health management training activities. Their insight, knowledge and skills related to livestock health management have increased.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian tepung gaplek sebagai aditif silase terhadap kualitas silase kulit pisang kepok. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan, yaitu P0 (Penambahan tepung gaplek pada level 0%), P1 (Penambahan tepung gaplek pada level 5%), P2 (Penambahan tepung gaplek pada 10%), P3 (Penambahan tepung gaplek pada level 15%), dan P4 (Penambahan tepung gaplek pada level 20%). Ensilase berlangsung selama  21 hari. Setiap perlakuan diulang masing-masing sebanyak 5 kali. Parameter yang diamati adalah kualitas fisik, kualitas fermentasi, dan komposisi kimia. Hasil menunjukkan kualitas fisik silase kulit pisang kepok adalah bertekstur padat serta tidak menggumpal dan berlendir,  warna kecoklatan hingga coklat kehitaman, dengan bau asam  hingga asam kemanisan, dan keberadaan jamur dalam jumlah sedikit. Nilai pH  tidak menunjukkan  perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P>0,01). Skor Fleigh menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P<0,01). Kandungan bahan Kering tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P>0,01). Kandungan Protein Kasar dan Serat Kasar menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P<0,01). Penambahan aditif tepung gaplek pada silase kulit pisang kepok memberikan hasil terbaik pada  pada  level 20%.

Abstract

Kubis bunga merupakan tanaman sayuran semusim yang mengandung mineral, vitamin dan serat yang sangat penting untuk kesehatan, Budidaya kubis bunga selama ini masih bertumpu pada pemakaian pupuk anorganik. Pemakaian pupuk anorganik secara terus menerus dapat menimbulkan efek negatif berupa pencemaran lingkungan dan penurunan produktivitas tanah. Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk meneliti respons tanaman kubis bunga terhadap pemberian POC daun lamtoro dan bokashi eceng gondok pada tanah ultisol. Penelitian ini mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial terdiri dari 2 faktor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama, yaitu konsentrasi pupuk organik cair daun lamtoro (0, 10, 20, 30%), faktor kedua, yaitu dosis bokashi eceng gondok (0, 10, 20, dan yang 30 ton/ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada pengaruh interaksi antara pemberian POC daun lamtoro dan bokashi eceng gondok terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kubis bunga pada tanah ultisol. Pemberian POC daun lamtoro pada konsentrasi 30% memberikan hasil hasil terbaik pada bobot krop , yaitu 108,91 g/tanaman. Pemberian bokashi eceng gondok dengan dosis 10 ton/ha mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil kubis bunga pada tanah ultisol.
