Papalele: Dangerous Encounter and Transaction in Conflict Soegijono, Simon Pieter

Abstract

The true peace is still being fought in various countries, indeed Indonesia. It relates with the pluralism life as the main constraint recently. So it is important to raise the individual and community awareness to pluralism. Thus, peace becomes important factor for any country with various identity like Indonesia. This Peace is related to some value, as follows: mutual respect and sense of tolerence to face the conflict of religion, ethnicity and race that takes place at this time. At recent, numerous attempts have done by government, education institution, non-governmental organization, and others independent stakeholder. The strategy of peace recovery can be done by formal activities, like: workshop, training, seminar, focus group discussion, etc. However, it appears negative impression of the results which is not optimal. In spite of the efforts to build peace, this paper as the research give an idea contribution to peace on the empirical level and informal that was built by micro business in Ambon City. They are known as papalele. Papalele provides essential lessons about peace from economic activity; without religion, etnicity ang race. Despite, their role was not considered various stakeholder at that time and became untold story in peace building in Ambon City, in fact they are true peace bridge.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Persepsi merupakan proses yang panjang mulai dari penginderaan hingga pemberian makna, baik itu mengenai kesehatan itu sendiri maupun tentang psychological well-being. Tujuan: Mengetahui bagaimana persepsi kesehatan dan well-being penderita hipertensi di Desa Ritabel. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber data. Hasil: Terdapat 4 tema yaitu pemaknaan konsep sehat dan sakit, dimensi sehat (secara mental, spiritual dan ekonomi), kesejahteraan, kepuasan hidupdan hubungan yang positif dan penentuan tujuan hidup serta pengembangan potensi diri. Kesimpulan: Sehat dan sakit berpulang pada diri kita sendiri, jika kita berpikir kita sakit maka kita akan sakit begitu pula sebaliknya. Sehat berarti tidak ada penyakit didalam tubuh sedangkan sakit dipahami sebagai adanya gangguan dalam tubuh, baik fisik maupun mental. Untuk  kesejahteraan, partisipan memahami dalam bentuk kasih sayang untuk  keluarga, tetangga dan semua orang dan menjalani hidupnya dengan bahagia.

Abstract

The problem and purpose of this study is to describe subjective well-being towards broken home individuals. The subjects in this study were only one criteria, who is individual were victims of divorce for more than ten years. The research method used is qualitative research with case study design. The type of qualitative approach used is descriptive phenomenology. Data collection techniques used are structured interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing verification. Tools and materials in this study used pens, books, recording devices (tape recorder). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that (1) life satisfaction, (2) negative impacts, (3) expectations, (4) need fulfillment, affect subjective-well being towards broken home individuals.

Abstract

A study conduct by the Global of Diabetic Federation showed that the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is increasing at the international, national and regional levels. The prevalence of DM at Air Salobar Public Health Centre, Ambon, showed there to be an increase from 128 patients (2015) up to 221 patients (2016). There were changes observed in the physical and psychological responses of the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Objective: To describe the psychosocial responses and coping strategies of the patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the context of Ambonese culture. Method: Qualitative and descriptive using the case study approach. There were four participants. The purpose sampling technique used the following criteria: patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with complications (cataract, stroke, hypertension, heart attack or amputation), sick for > two years, and the patients were Ambonese. The data collection was conducted through observation and in-depth interviews. Results: The participants’ psychosocial responses included resilience, optimism and social support from their family and close relatives, low self-esteem, and anxiety. To adapt to their condition, themale participants tended to use problem-focused coping, while the female participants used emotion-focused coping. The factor that influenced the coping strategies was the diabetes severity, the participant’s individual characteristics and the environment (culture and social support). They believe in traditional medicine such as the Africa leaf, noni fruit, kalabasa leaf, and Alifuru leaf, and that the aforementioned traditional cures are able to reduce their blood glucose. Conclusion: although the participants have low self-esteem, and anxiety, theyhave resilience, optimism, and social support that allows them to endure DM.

Abstract

There was a lot of study about the proverty phenomenon of society. Most of them aim at proverty character and to observe poor people’s eforts as individual or society group to fulfil their life needs, and their capability to survive as well. In case, proverty problem became important notice of stake holders, include government and non government organization. It also considered from all perspective, like social, economy dan culture for decreasing the amount of poor people. At the very least, it done by qualitative approach with study case, can reveal the proverty problem. This research is done at Rutong and Leahari villages, subdistrict Leitimur Selatan Ambon city. Abstract

Latar Belakang: Badan Kesehatan Dunia mendefenisikan kesehatan sebagai kondisi dinamis yang meliputi kesehatan jasmani, rohani, sosial, dan tidak hanya terbebas dari penyakit, cacat, dan kelemahan. Tahun 2013, jumlah penderita gangguan jiwa nasional sebesar 1,7 per mil dan prevelensi penduduk yang mengalami gangguan mental emosional adalah 6.0%. Hal ini menjadi sebuah perhatian dengan tersedianya penanganan atau pengobatan bahkan strategi koping yang lebih tepat. Tujuan: menggambarkan persepsi kesehatan mental dan strategi koping berbasis budaya pada orang Ambon dengan latar belakang sosiodemografi yang berbeda. Metode: kualitatif deskriptif menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam melalui pertanyaan-pertanyaan semi terstruktur. Hasil wawancara dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, display data dan kesimpulan. Hasil: didapatkan 6 tema besar: sehat itu terbebas dari penyakit dan harus menjaga pola hidup yang sehat, persepsi kesehatan mental dan faktor penyebab gangguan mental, strategi masyarakat menghadapi pasien gangguan mental, mendapatkan layanan kesehatan dan dukungan dari keluarga dan masyarakat, eksternal stresor sebagai penyebab stres, dan strategi koping masyarakat Latuhalat. Kesimpulan: berdasarkan sosiodemografi partisipan mempunyai strategi koping yang tepat dalam menangani orang yang mengalami gangguan jiwa yaitu membawa orang tersebut ke Rumah Sakit Jiwa untuk memperoleh asuhan keperawatan. Sedangkan tidak terdapat strategi koping yang berbasis budaya.Background: World Health Organization defined health as the dynamic condition which included physical health, spiritual, social, and not just free from any diseases, physical defect, and weakness. In 2013, the number of national mental disorder sufferers was 1,7 per mile and the prevalence population suffered from emotional mental was 6.0%. This is a concern with the availability of handling or treatment even better for coping strategy. Aim: To describe the perception of mental health and coping strategy based on the culture againts Ambonese with different background of sociodemography. Method: Descriptive qualitative used purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data collection used interviews through semi structured questions. The results of interviews then was analyzed using technique of data reduction, data display and conclusions. Results: that found six enormous themes: healthy it was free from any diseases and should maintain a healthy lifestyle, mental health perception and factors of mental disorder, the strategy of community to face the patients mental health, procured health services and support from families and communities, external stressor as the cause of stress, and coping strategy of Latuhalat community. Conclusions: Based on sosiodemography participants have the right coping strategy in handling people who have mental disorder that brought the person to Psychiatric Hospital to obtain the care of nursing .While there was no coping strategy which based on culture.

Abstract — Traditional markets are one of the most tangible indicators of community economic activity in an area. The market is one of the public facilities whose existence supports the economic activities of the community. The market is a communication medium for everyone's encounter without limits. The existence of the market should be a place that provides comfort for its users. However, in reality, traditional markets have received almost no attention. This research was conducted to study the arrangement of traditional markets. With qualitative research methods and survey research types, it is hoped that it will answer the needs of traditional market arrangements by the Ambon City Government.Keywords: market, social relations
