Abstract

Background: Diabates Mellitus (DM) type II, a long-term metabolic disorder caused by high blood sugar, is one of the major health problems in the world. Central Kalimantan Province, Palangkaraya City has 3,885 cases of DM in 2012. Prevalance of DM type II patients in the Regional Public Hospital of Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya increases from 375 cases (in 2007) to 514 cases (in 2009). DM can affect the patients physically and psychologically. Patients will respond differently to illness, influenced by previous experience and social culture. Dayak people are ethnic majority in Central Kalimantan. Study aims to describe the perception of health and mental health status of patients with type II DM in cultural context of Central Kalimantan. Method: This research was conducted using qualitative descriptive method. Data collected through in-depth interview from 10 participants. Data was analyzed with Miles and Huberman models using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. Results: Health perception and mental health status of people with type II DM in the cultural context of Central Kalimantan influenced by health and illness perception, emotional self-control, and thinking capability. Conculsion: Health perceived as conditions when the body capable enough to perform daily activities, in other hand illness perceived as conditions of the body unable to perform daily activities. These understanding related to participants’ experience and local culture. Paticipants’s thinking capability decrease such as difficulty remembering due to aging and DM type II. They have positive perspective toward life after getting type II DM that affected their emotional self-control.

Abstract

memasuki sekolah setiap hari berjuang melawan masalah-masalah emosional, perilaku, dan keluarga yang dapat mempengaruhi belajar mereka dan juga belajar orang lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengidentifikasi dan mendeskripsikan status kesehatan mental siswa SD GMIH Pitu melalui observasi perilaku (social, akademik dan emosional) yang beresiko dan pengetahuan guru terhadap program promosi kesehatan mental di sekolah. Penelitian ini mengunakan tipe penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis pendekatan deskriptif. Pengambilan partisipan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode total sampling dengan jumlah 11 guru dan 59 siswa gabungan kelas 4, 5 dan 6. Data observasi perilaku menggunakan kuesioner baku yang berjudul “Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (SAEBRS)” yang kemudian diadaptasikan ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa sebanyak 25 (42%) siswa terindikasi beresiko mengalami gangguan perilaku sosial, 18 (30%) siswa beresiko mengalami gangguan perilaku akademik dan 49 (83%) siswa beresiko mengalami gangguan emosional dan secara keseluruhan siswa beresiko mengalami gangguan perilaku sebanyak 22 (45%). Untuk data tentang program promosi kesehatan mental diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner “Mental Health Promotion in School: Schoolchildren’s and Families’ Viewpoint”. Hasil yang didapatkan, tidak ditemukannya program promosi kesehatan mental yang diterapkan di sekolah sesuai dengan apa yang menjadi himbauan Menteri kesehatan bersama Menteri Pendidikan RI terkait program Usaha Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS). Hal ini dapat disebabkan karena sebanyak 6 (55%) guru termasuk dalam kurang pengetahuan guru mengenai program promosi kesehatan mental anak di sekolah.Dalam konteks pendidikan, orang yang bahagia cenderung mampu mencapai prestasi akademis dan performa yang lebih. Abstract

Mental health is a state of a person who does not experience the feeling of guilt towards him/herself, have a realistic estimate, can receive a deficiency or weakness, the capability of facing the problems and have satisfaction and happiness in his/her life. The prevalence of severe psychiatric in Indonesia experienced a significant increase in the year 2013 only 1.7% to 7% in the year 2018. In mental health, cultural factors also play an important role. A person is said to be healthy or mentally ill depends on culture. There are two types of coping according to Lazarus and Folkmannamely problem focused coping (PFC) and emotion focus coping (EFC). In the PFC, the individual in dealing with the problem would be the logical thinking and trying to solve the problems of the positive. Whereas in the EFC, individuals assuage the emotions evoked by the stressor (source of stress) without trying to change the situation. Describe the mental health and cultural perspectives in coping strategy based on the profile of the sociodemographic community in  Aminweri village. A qualitative approach to data collection techniques as well as phenomenology with structured interviews and documentation. Determination of the participant determined by purposive sampling technique. Obtained 3 huge themes: acquired memory, emotion regulation strategies and coping. Generally variable sociodemographic connectedness with a decline in memory, emotion regulation, shared the coping community  Aminweri Village  and there is the influence of the culture of Biak.

Abstract

Living a happy life is everyone's dream. Happiness in psychology is termed Subjective Well-Being (SWB). SWB is a cognitive evaluation (life satisfaction) and affective (positive and negative effects). Nurses need to have a high Subjective Well-being in order to maximize the service of nurses in hospitals. The purpose of this study was to determine the SWB level of nurses working in mental hospitals RS. Dr. Soerojo Magelang. The method used is descriptive quantitative survey approach using a self-evaluation questionnaire that has been patented (has been adapted, modified, and changed into Indonesian). The self-evaluation questionnaire includes an adaptation of the Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE) and The Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) questionnaire. Data were processed using SPSS to test variables with a significance level of 0.05. For the level of well-being in the measurement of affect (positive and negative), 142 (54.0%) respondents often experience positive affect and in the measurement of life satisfaction, as many as 156 (59.3%) have high life satisfaction.

Abstract

Stroke is the dissolution of blood flow to the brain, due to the rupture of blood vessels or blockage of blood vessels to the brain. Stroke results in paralysis, sensory disorders, activity disorders, mental changes such as impaired thinking, awareness, concentration, impaired communication, and emotional disturbance. These changes require the ability of individuals to overcome these problems. This ability is known by the term strategy coping. In general, the known strategy of coping is problem-focused coping and emotion-focused coping. As part of the behavior, psychosocial responses and coping strategies influenced by culture. This study aims to describe the psychosocial response and coping strategy of stroke patients in the context of the culture in Ambon. The method in this study is a qualitative phenomenology approach. Data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews. The participants in this study were four people. Result obtained four themes: (1) physical changes, (2) independence in carrying out activities, (3) psychosocial responses, and (4) coping strategies in a cultural context. Physical changes experienced by participants due to stroke give rise to maladaptive and adaptive psychosocial responses. The coping strategies used to overcome the problem are emotional coping and focus coping issues that are influenced by Ambon culture.

Abstract

Dalam proses belajar, mahasiswa membutuhkan motivasi karena dapat mendorong dirinya untuk lebih giat belajar. Motivasi belajar mempunyai pengaruh terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar. Selain memperoleh indeks prestasi yang baik mahasiswa juga diharapkan mampu mengembangkan kemampuan dan keterampilannya melalui kegiatan berorganisasi. Terdapat dua tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keaktifan mahasiswa dalam berorganisasi dan motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar, dan hubungan antara keaktifan berorganisasi, motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar dengan status kesehatan mental pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik yang aktif di Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Fakultas dan atau Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas selama 1 tahun. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian asosiatif, dengan teknik Random  Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 16 responden terdapat 40,0% mahasiswa aktif berorganisasi, 50,1% mahasiswa memiliki motivasi berprestasi dan 55,5% mempunyai status kesehatan mental yang tinggi. Selain itu penelitian ini memperlihatkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap (1) keaktifan berorganisasi dan motivasi berprestasi (2) motivasi berprestasi dan status kesehatan mental terhadap mahasiswa FISIP yang menjadi pengurus BEMU dan atau BEMF di UNCEN PAPUA

Abstract

Background: Dementia is a syndrome caused by decreased cognitive function due to aging, genetics, vascular disease and low physical and cognitive activities. Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia. Despite experiencing holistic changes in their lives, elderly with dementia Alzheimer's are entitled to well-being. Measurement of Subjective Well-being (SWB) is used to determine the well-being state of elderlies.Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the expression of Subjective well-being (SWB) and the healthy behavior of elderlies with dementia Alzheimer's.Methods: This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach with a descriptive hermeneutics type. The data collection was done by in-depth interview techniques with the type of auto-anamnesis, observed, and family statements. The data analysis process was carried out in 3 stages (Verbatim, initial and focused coding, determination of categories were made in the form of themes). Data validity test used data triangulation techniques.Results: Participants in this study are 3 elderlies age 75 and 76 years who had mild dementia Alzheimer's. This condition affects participants ability in expressing their SWB and health behavior that are described in physical disorders, life satisfaction, satisfaction with important domains, positive influence, behavior change, treatment-seeking, and cognitive failure.Conclusion: Reported high subjective well-being is closely related to the low level of unpleasant emotions during their life journey. Healthy behavior is strongly influenced by knowledge, demographic factors, personal goals and values, social influence, and access to health services. Two participants managed to express SWB and healthy behaviors better than one participant.

Abstract

Nutrition is one of the important factors that determine the level of health between physical and mental development. Well greatly affects the concentration and intelligence of children in receiving and absorbing any knowledge obtained at school. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between eating behavior and nutritional status with the mental health status of students in Jayapura State Instruction Waena Permai. This research uses quantitative methods with correlation design and data collection techniques used questionnaires and structured interviews. Respondents in this study were all students in grades V and VI with age criteria 10-13 years with a sample of 40 respondents. The result of this study was, the eating behavior of class V and VI respondents most often consumed rice, eggs, fish, water spinach, bananas, and sweet tea. Nutritional status in class V and VI respondents was normal, and most mental health in class V and VI respondents was abnormal. In the conclusion of this study, there is no significant relationship between nutritional status and mental health with a significant value of 0.949.

Abstract

Background: Intellectual disability is a below average intellectual condition, marked by a limited of the ability in language, self-reliance self-care, socialization with the environment, and ability to follow school lessons. Having the children with intellectual disability givesan impact on the function of family. The purpose of this study is to determine the family function in families who have children with intellectual disability in Salatiga City. Methods: The method used inthe research is qualitative with phenomenological approach. There were five familyinvolved. In-dept interview was done to get the data. The research took place in SLB Salatiga, Central Java. Results: The result of this research shows that families ofthe children with intellectual disability are able to perform the function of family in their daily lives. Conclusion: Parents accept the presence of children bycontinuegiving attention, buildingrelationshipsand abilities of socio-emotional children, teaching children socializing, fulfilling the family economy effectively, fulfillingspecial needs for children with intellectual disability, and caring forfamily health Abstrak : Latar belakang: Intellectual disability merupakan suatu keadaan kecerdasan yang kurang dari rata-rata dan ditandai dengan kemampuan yang terbatas dalam berbahasa, kemandirian merawat diri, bersosialisasi dengan lingkungan, dan kemampuan dalam mengikuti pelajaran di sekolah. Memiliki anak dengan intellectual disability dapat memengaruhi atau berdampak pada fungsi keluarga. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui fungsi keluarga pada keluarga yang memiliki anak dengan intellectual disability di Kota Salatiga. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Jumlah riset partisipan 5 orang/keluarga. Data diperoleh melalui teknik wawancara mendalam. Lokasi penelitian yaitu di SLB Negeri Salatiga, Jawa Tengah. Hasil: Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa walaupun keluarga memiliki anak dengan intellectual disability mereka tetap menjalankan fungsi keluarga dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dengan baik. Simpulan: Orang tua menerima keberadaan anak dengan tetap memberikan perhatian, membangun hubungan dan kemampuan sosioemosional anak, mengajarkan anak bersosialisasi, memenuhi kebutuhan ekonomi keluarga secara efektif, memenuhi kebutuhan khusus anak intelectual disablity, serta perawatan kesehatan keluarga.

Abstract

Abstrak Intellectual disability adalah kondisi sebelum usia 18 tahun yang ditandai dengan rendahnya tingkat kecerdasan (memiliki nilai IQ di bawah 70), tidak cakap dalam mengolah kata dan sulit beradaptasi dalam beraktivitas di kehidupan sehari-hari. Keadaan tersebut akan mempengaruhi mereka ketika berperilaku dalam lingkungan sosialnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tipe pengasuhan orang tua terhadap perilaku sosial remaja usia sekolah  dengan  intellectual disability. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif korelasi.Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan observasi yang kemudian dianalisa menggunakan uji Pearson. Hasil uji Pearson diperoleh nilai signifikan antara tipe pengasuhan orangtua terhadap perilaku remaja di sekolah sebesar 0,885 sedangkan nilai signifikan antara tipe pengasuhan orangtua terhadap perilaku remaja anak di lingkungan rumah sebesar 0,532. Penelitian ini menunjukan tidak ada hubungan antara tipe pengasuhan orang tua terhadap perilaku sosial anak dengan intellectual disability di Salatiga.Kata kunci: intellectual disability, tipe pengasuhan, perilaku sosial Abstract Intellectual disability is a condition before the age of 18 years characterized by a low level of intelligence (has an IQ score below 70), not proficient in word processing and difficult to adapt in activities in everyday life. The situation will affect them when behaving in their social environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting type of social behavior of school age teenagers with intellectual disability. Methods in this study using the type of quantitative research with the type of descriptive correlation research. Data collection techniques conducted by using questionnaires and observations are then analyzed using Pearson test. Pearson test results obtained significant value between the types of parenting to the behavior of teenagers in school by 0.885 while the significant value between the types of parenting to the behavior of teenagers in the home environment of 0.532. This study showed no relationship between parenting type of social behavior of children with intellectual disability in Salatiga. Keywords: intellectual disability, nurture type, social behaviorÂ
