Abstract

An administrator plays a vital role in the growth and development of his/her subordinates. Despite this notion, the role of an administrator in the context of training programs and transfer of training is not well studied. Therefore, this study is set to examine the relationship between administrator’s role in training programs and training transfer. A survey method was utilized to gather 706 survey questionnaires from employees of local authorities of three cities in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The results of SmartPLS path model analysis confirmed that the ability of administrators to properly implement support, communication and assignment in planning and implementing training programs has been an important predictor of training transfer in the studied organization. Further, this study provides discussion, implications and conclusion.

Abstract

This study was conducted primarily to measure the relationship between career program, career development and personal outcomes using self-administered questionnaires gathered from employees who have worked at a Sabah local government in Borneo. The outcomes of testing research hypothesis using a stepwise regression analysis showed two important findings: firstly, relationship between career program (i.e., planning and management) and career development positively and significantly correlated with job satisfaction. Secondly, relationship between career program (i.e., planning and management) and career development positively and significantly correlated with career commitment. Statistically, the result demonstrates that career development does act as an important mediating variable in the relationship between career program and personal outcomes in the career program model of the studied organization. The paper provides discussion, implications and conclusion.

Abstract

This study was conducted to measure the mediating effect of distributive justice on the relationship between pay level, pay structure, and job commitment. A survey research method was used to gather 194 usable questionnaires from academic staff of 15 Malaysian public community colleges (MPCC). Outcomes of testing mediating model using a stepwise regression analysis showed that distributive justice has increased the effect of pay design features (i.e., pay level and pay structure) on job commitment. This result confirms that distributive justice does act as a full mediating variable in the pay design models of the organizational sector sample. In addition, implications of this study to compensation theory and practice, methodological and conceptual limitations, as well as directions for future research are discussed.

Abstract

Employees are assets for the company. Therefore high employee performance can improve company performance in achieving goals. The current research was done to develop a conceptual model related to competency, organizational commitment, service quality agility, and employee performance. In this case, data involved were obtained from 127 BUMN Bank employees. The information was prepared to utilize PLS Structural Equation Modeling. This study suggested service quality agility as a technique to raise worker productivity. The study further revealed that competence and organizational commitment mediated by service quality agility improve employee performance. Therefore, this result supports the hypothesis of the significance of service quality agility in improving employee performance. The findings from this study can be used as a strategy for improving employee performance. This result also strengthens the human motivation theory, in which employees working with suitable competence, high commitment, and high motivation in providing services can improve employee and organizational performance. Future research can focus on service quality agility by expanding the research subject to other business companies related to customer service, and the results may vary.
