Abstract

An administrator plays a vital role in the growth and development of his/her subordinates. Despite this notion, the role of an administrator in the context of training programs and transfer of training is not well studied. Therefore, this study is set to examine the relationship between administrator’s role in training programs and training transfer. A survey method was utilized to gather 706 survey questionnaires from employees of local authorities of three cities in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The results of SmartPLS path model analysis confirmed that the ability of administrators to properly implement support, communication and assignment in planning and implementing training programs has been an important predictor of training transfer in the studied organization. Further, this study provides discussion, implications and conclusion.

Abstract

Much has been written about service quality impacts on customer satisfaction. However, little research on this perspective has been carried out in military settings. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction, and moderating effects of perceived value in military medical centre. A survey method was employed and data was collected from customers at medical centers under the administration of Malaysian army organization. Analysis was performed using SmartPLS path model analysis. The results show two important findings: first, the interaction between four service quality components (i.e., tangible, reliability, responsiveness and assurance) and customers’ perceived value were significantly correlated with customer satisfaction. Second, the interaction between one service quality component (i.e., tangible) were not significantly correlated with customer satisfaction. In overall, this result confirms that effect of tangible, reliability, responsiveness and assurance on customer satisfaction has been moderated by customers’ perceived value. Conversely, effect empathy on customer satisfaction has not been moderated by customers’ perceived value. Further, this study offers discussion, implications and conclusion.

Abstract

This research was conducted to assess the relationship between the role of administrators in training programs and the motivation level of the trainees. The data were collected through a survey method conducted on employees at a government agency in East Malaysia. The outcomes of SmartPLS path model analysis show three important findings. First, administrators’ roles in training programs are significantly related to trainees’ motivation. Second, provision of support is significantly linked to the motivation of the trainees. Third, communication is significantly related to the motivation level of the trainees. Thus, the findings indicate that administrators’ roles, support, and communication act as significant determinants of trainees’ motivation in an organizational sample.

Abstract

This research was to measure the correlation between management of performance reward systems on subordinates’ satisfaction towards the job. A survey method was utilized to collect data from subordinates who worked at the headquarters of fire and rescue departments in Malaysia. The outcomes of SmartPLS path model analysis display two important findings. First, the implementation of information delivery and performance assessment in handling performance reward systems have enhanced subordinates’ intrinsic job satisfaction, but the implementation ofinvolvement hypothesized performance reward systems has not enhanced subordinates’ intrinsic job satisfaction. Second, implementation of information delivery, involvement and performance assessment in handling performance reward systems have also enhanced subordinates’ extrinsic job satisfaction.

Abstract

This article was conducted to examine the relationship between human-oriented leadership (HOL) and organizational commitment. A survey method was employed to obtain data from the employees of one US subsidiary companybased in Sarawak. Results of the Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS) model analysis confirmed that participative leadership, supportive leadership, and empowerment act as important antecedents of organizational commitment.These findings reveal that the capability of managers practicing HOL styles (supportive, participative, and empowerment) has enhanced employees’ commitment to the organization.

Abstract

This study assesses the correlation between managers’ roles in performance based reward and procedural justice at disaster agencies in Malaysia. The outcomes of SmartPLS (PLS-SEM) path model analysis demonstrated that the capability of management to correctly apply communication, involvement and performance assessment in performance-based reward could lead to higher employees' feelings of procedural justice in the organizational sample. Abstract

This study aims at measuring the relationship between career development tools and proactive behaviour using self-report questionnaires collected from workers at an oil and gas service company in Peninsular Malaysia. The results of linear regression analysis displayed two major findings: first, job autonomy was positively and significantly related to proactive behaviour. Second, transformational leadership was positively and significantly related to proactive behaviour. In overall, this result demonstrates that the career development tools act as an important predictor of employees’ proactive behavior in the organizational sample. Abstract

Work stress hadtwo important components: role ambiguity and role overload. This research used a cross-sectional research design because it permited the researchers to integrate the work stress literature and the actual survey as the main procedure of collecting data for this study. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the relationship between the work stress and work-family conflict of workers using 97 questionnaires collected from navy in Malaysia. The outcomes of testing hypothesis by using smartPLS path model confirmed two important findings. First, role ambiguity was significantly correlated with work-family conflict. Second, role overload was significantly correlated with work-family conflict. This result confirms that the ability of employees to appropriately manage the ambiguity and overload in performing daily job may reduce reduce work-family conflict in the studied organization.
