Abstract

ABSTRACTMyth and novel are two kinds of literatures which are different. Myth arised from oral tradition, spiritual art, and primordial of human belief. While novel arised from written tradition that grows from modern culture which identifies the rasio. This research is conducted to see the relationship between myth and Sundanesses novel, and also to know the actualization of myth Sangkuriang and Lutung Kasarung which are retold by Déng’s novel from Godi Suwarna.Keyword: lutung kasarung, sangkuriang, déng, myth, novel ABSTRAKMitos dan novel merupakan dua bentuk karya sastra yang berbeda. Mitos berangkat dari tradisi lisan, seni spiritual, dan kepercayaan masyarakat primordial. Sementara Novel berangkat dari tradisi tulis, berakar pada kebudayaan modern yang bercirikan rasio. Abstract

The objective of this research is analyze the motives, meanings and experiences experienced by Garut youth in the use of the sentence "Sampurasun”. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques used by researchers are in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, documentation, and observation. With Sundanese Cultural Resource Person. The results of this study say that in Sundanese communication there is a characteristic in escorting conversations and what is used is a sentence "Sampurasun" which has a very deep meaning, but in its use today it experiences a shift in meaning which is influenced by internal and external factors in this case. The researcher found with various informants' perspectives on the motives of meaning and experience in the pronunciation of the sentence "Sampurasun" which resulted in an answer to several things that made a shift in the meaning of a sentence and also here found the actual meaning said by the resource person, namely the Sundanese Cultural himself.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how non-local students adapt to the local culture at Garut University, where Sunda culture predominates. The research focuses on three key aspects: the development of self-concept, the motivation to interact, and the relationships formed with local students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six non-local students from diverse cultural backgrounds, supported by insights from lecturers and counselors who served as expert informants. The findings indicate that although the students initially experienced anxiety and uncertainty, they were able to overcome these feelings through self-reflection, a desire to be accepted within a new social environment, and active participation in various campus activities. Intensive and positive interactions with local students played a crucial role in accelerating their adaptation process and fostering a sense of belonging. Their adjustment of self-concept occurred in a flexible manner—maintaining their original identity while remaining open to the new environment. Their motivation to interact was driven not only by academic needs but also by a personal desire to build meaningful social relationships. This study highlights the importance of creating an inclusive and culturally aware campus environment to support the adaptation of students from diverse cultural backgrounds.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana mahasiswa pendatang beradaptasi dengan budaya lokal di Universitas Garut, yang sebagian besar didominasi oleh budaya Sunda. Fokus penelitian ini meliputi tiga hal utama: pembentukan konsep diri, motivasi berinteraksi, dan hubungan mereka dengan mahasiswa lokal. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan enam mahasiswa pendatang dari berbagai latar belakang budaya, serta masukan dari dosen dan konselor yang berperan sebagai narasumber ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada awalnya, siswa pendatang merasa cemas dan tidak yakin, namun mereka bisa mengatasi hal tersebut melalui refleksi diri, keinginan untuk diterima dalam kelompok sosial baru, dan keterlibatan aktif dalam berbagai aktivitas kampus. Interaksi yang intens dan positif dengan pelajar lokal sangat membantu mempercepat proses adaptasi mereka dan memberi rasa diterima. Penyesuaian konsep diri mereka dilakukan dengan cara yang fleksibel, tanpa menghilangkan identitas aslinya, tetapi dengan terbuka terhadap lingkungan baru. Motivasi untuk berinteraksi tidak hanya didorong oleh kebutuhan akademik, tetapi juga oleh keinginan pribadi untuk membangun hubungan sosial yang bermakna. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya menciptakan lingkungan kampus yang inklusif dan sadar budaya untuk mendukung adaptasi mahasiswa dari latar belakang budaya yang berbeda.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of content creators on YouTube, which has given rise to intense competition among creators. The purpose of this study is to explain the personal branding developed by Tretan Muslim through his YouTube channel, Tretan Universe, amidst this competition. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. This study refers to Peter Montoya's personal branding theory, which includes eight dimensions of personal branding. The results show that Tretan Muslim fulfills all of these dimensions. In specializing in simple appearance, thinking outside the box, and comedy are Tretan Muslim's characteristics. In leadership, his content is unique, fresh, and innovative. Personality is reflected in creativity, abstract thinking, and spontaneity. The dimension of difference is evident in his ability to process trends and involve people with disabilities. In terms of visibility, Tretan Muslim actively follows trends and collaborates. Tretan Muslim's Unity is seen in his professional behavior and always maintains a good attitude. Tretan Muslim's steadfastness is always consistent in seeking new ideas and has strong principles. In terms of good name, Tretan Muslim limits the expression of wild ideas and provides opportunities for people with disabilities. This overall strategy forms a unique personal branding, distinguishing Tretan Muslim from other content creators. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya jumlah konten kreator di media sosial YouTube, yang menimbulkan persaingan ketat antar kreator. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan personal branding yang dibentuk oleh Tretan Muslim melalui kanal YouTube-nya, Tretan Universe, di tengah persaingan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Penelitian ini mengacu pada teori personal branding Peter Montoya yang mencakup delapan dimensi pembentuk personal branding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tretan Muslim memenuhi seluruh dimensi tersebut. Dalam spesialisasi penampilan sederhana, berpikir di luar nalar, dan komedi menjadi ciri khas Tretan Muslim. Dalam kepemimpinan, kontennya unik, segar dan inovatif. Kepribadian tercermin dalam krFareativitas, berpikir abstrak dan spontan. Dimensi perbedaan tampak dari kemampuannya mengolah tren dan melibatkan penyandang disabilitas. Dalam hal terlihat, Tretan Muslim aktif mengikuti tren dan berkolaborasi. Tretan Muslim memiliki Kesatuan terlihat dari perilaku profesional dan selalu menjaga sikap. Keteguhan Tretan Muslim selalu konsisten mencari ide baru dan meiliki prinsip yang kuat. Pada aspek nama baik, Tretan Muslim membatasi ekspresi ide yang liar dan memberikan peluang bagi orang disabilitas. Keseluruhan strategi ini membentuk personal branding yang khas, membedakan Tretan Muslim dari konten kreator lainnya.
