Abstract

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the relationship between mental toughness and competitive anxiety in Indonesian Pegasus Taekwondo athletes in Jambi City. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational design. The study sample consisted of 22 athletes selected using a total sampling technique. The mental toughness instrument refers to the concept developed by Daniel F. Gucciardi, while competitive anxiety was measured using the Sport Anxiety Scale (SAS). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that the athletes' mental toughness level was in the moderate category with a mean value of 102.05 and a standard deviation of 4.27. Meanwhile, the level of competitive anxiety was also in the moderate category with a mean of 47.6 and a standard deviation of 5.195. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (Asymp. Sig = 0.200 > 0.05). The correlation analysis showed a significant negative relationship between mental toughness and competitive anxiety. This means that the higher the athlete's mental toughness, the lower the level of competition anxiety they experienced. This finding confirms the importance of developing psychological aspects in improving the performance of taekwondo athletes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze women's volleyball passing skills based on the menstrual cycle at the Tunas Muda Muara Bulan volleyball club. This study used a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design on 17 female volleyball athletes selected through total sampling. Data were obtained through a test of underhand passing skills before (pretest) and during menstruation (posttest). The results showed an average pretest score of 40.529 (very good category) and a posttest score of 24.117 (good-very good category). The Paired Sample T-Test produced a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the results before and during menstruation. The N-Gain Score value of -0.3094 indicates a decrease in skills in the moderate category. It was concluded that the menstrual cycle affects the underhand passing skills of female volleyball athletes, so coaches need to adjust the training intensity and pay special attention to the condition of athletes during the menstrual period. Abstract

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aims to analyze the Jambi School Football League (JSFL) as an authentic learning laboratory for Sports Management students through Match Coordination Meeting (MCM)/Zoom, match observations, post-event interviews, student reflections, and match evaluation documents. Materials and methods. The study used a qualitative descriptive case study approach. Participants were seven fourth-semester students who were involved in JSFL as match analysts, event implementation supporters, publication and documentation personnel, and match management observers. Data were obtained from MCM documentation, four match observation reports, seven student interviews, student reflections, and match evaluation documents. Analysis was conducted using NVivo through open coding, theme nodes, sub-theme nodes, hierarchy charts, word clouds, project maps, and the formulation of an event-based learning model. Results. The NVivo analysis generated six main themes: Pre-Event/MCM, Match Observation, Event Governance, Student Reflection, Sports Management Learning, and SDGs Relevance. The findings show that JSFL supports a learning process that moves from initial coordination and field observation to reflection and the formation of communication, cooperation, problem-solving, time management, responsibility, and professionalism competencies. Conclusions. JSFL can be positioned as a Sports Management learning laboratory because it provides authentic event-based experiences that connect classroom theory with the practice of sports event governance.

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) plays an important role in fostering physical abilities and healthy lifestyles of students. However, the implementation of Technology Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK)-based learning in PJOK teachers is still limited, especially in utilizing technology to support the learning process. This study aims to describe the implementation of TPACK-based learning in PJOK subjects for sports teachers in Senior High Schools throughout Jambi City. This study used a quantitative descriptive survey method with 47 senior high school sports teachers in Jambi City as samples. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire covering seven TPACK indicators. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics to measure the level of TPACK implementation. The results showed that the level of TPACK implementation in PJOK learning was in the good category with an achievement of 75%. Teachers have generally integrated technology in learning, although there are several obstacles in maximizing the use of more interactive technology. The implementation of TPACK in PJOK learning in Senior High Schools throughout Jambi City is classified as good, but still needs to be improved, especially in the use of technology innovatively to improve learning effectiveness. The results of this study can be a reference for further development of TPACK competencies for PJOK teachers.
