Abstract

Describing the mistakes of early-level students in solving algebra problems and their causes is the purpose of this study. The algebra problem given is a SPLDV problem with one solution, many solutions and no solution. Descriptive qualitative is a type of this research, with the subject of early-level students taking linear algebra courses. Test and interview techniques were used in collecting data in this study. Then the data analyzed using analytical techniques consisting of data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing.The results showed that the errors of students in solving SPLDV questions with one solution were only in writing mathematical symbols for the final answer. Meanwhile, errors in solving SPLDV with many solutions, namely: (1) writing the final answer, (2) performing subtraction and division operations that involve algebra, (3) interpreting the calculation results into the answer. Meanwhile, errors in solving SPLDV with no solution, namely: (1) performing subtraction operations involving algebra, (2) interpreting the results of calculations into answers. The cause of the error is that students (1) do not understand what is meant by the SPLDV solution, (2) still fixated on previous knowledge, namely the solution to SPLDV is only one, (3) still fixated that the easiest way to solve SPLDV is by elimination, (4) not familiar with SPLDV with many solutions and no solutions.

Abstract

Logarithms are classified as new material for vocational students, where this material has never been taught in previous levels of education. A media in logarithmic learning are needed so that concept formation can be well received by students. This study aims to determine the validity and effectiveness of penselo media assisted by worksheet in facilitating the formation of students' logarithmic concepts. This is a development research with instruments used in this study are worksheet, media validation sheets, student response questionnaire, and field notes. Grade X students of SMK Telekomunikasi Darul Ulum are the test subjects in this study. The data in this study consisted of quantitative data and qualitative data. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the validation test on aspects of manual tools were 87.5%, language aspects were 75%, content aspects were 81.25% and other aspects were 81.25%, while student responses were 3.54 which met the very good category. It can be concluded that the penselo media assisted by worksheet is valid and effective in forming the initial concept of logarithm.

Abstract

Representasi matematis memiliki peran penting dalam proses pemahaman konsep, penyampaian gagasan, mengoneksikan antar ide matematis, serta memodelkan masalah situasi nyata. Masalah situasi nyata yang melibatkan penyelesaian matematis antara lain berupa masalah yang berkaitan dengan kejadian dinamis yaitu perubahan nilai-nilai pada variabel seperti kecepatan dan laju. Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa ada kecenderungan perbedaan cara belajar antar individu dengan gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent. Selain itu, juga ditemukan perbedaan performa akademik antara laki-laki dan perempuan, meskipun tidak semua penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan bentuk representasi visual yang ditunjukkan oleh masing-masing subjek ketika memodelkan suatu kejadian dinamis terkait dengan perubahan nilai-nilai variabel. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari empat mahasiswa dengan kombinasi gaya kognitif dan jenis kelamin yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek laki-laki dengan gaya field independent memiliki kecenderungan lebih kuat untuk menggunakan bantuan representasi nonkonvensional sebelum menyatakannya dalam representasi yang lebih konvensional berupa grafik.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan, pemahaman konsep, dan respon mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran CLM yang diintegrasikan dengan mind mapping pada mata kuliah aljabar linier elementer I. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa prodi matematika dan pendidikan matematika semester gasal tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang mengambil mata kuliah aljabar linier elementer I. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan instrumen pendukung yaitu lembar observasi, tes pemahaman konsep, angket respon, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Langkah-langkah pembelajaran CLM yang diintegrasikan dengan mind mapping meliputi preview, participate, process (mengolah informasi dalam bentuk mind mapping), practice, dan produce. 2) Pemahaman konsep mahasiswa mengalami peningkatan setelah pembelajaran. Dan 3) Mahasiswa memberikan respon positif terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran CLM yang diintegrasikan dengan mind mapping. Kata kunci: Concise Learning Method; Mind Mapping; Pemahaman Konsep; Respon; Aljabar Linier Elementer. [English]: This research aimed to describe the implementation, students’ understanding and their responses on CLM integrated with mind mapping on Linear Elementary Algebra I course, This research was qualitative descriptive research with the subjects involved were students of mathematics and mathematics education on 2016/2017 academic year who took Linear Elementary Algebra I course. The main instrument in this research was the researcher and the supporting instruments used are observation sheet, test, response questionnaire, and interview guide. The results showed that: 1) The steps of CLM integrated with mind mapping include preview, participate, process (process all information into mind mapping), practice, and produce. 2) The students’ understanding of the mathematics concept of were developed. And 3) the students responded positively to the implementation of CLM integrated with mind mapping by showing enjoyment in the course. Abstract

Literasi matematika perlu untuk dikembangkan sejak pendidikan dasar. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan bahwa generasi mendatang siap dalam memecahkan masalah di semua aspek kehidupan. Namun pada kenyataannya kemampuan literasi siswa belum sesuai harapan. Mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa sekolah dasar dalam pemecahan masalah merupakan tujuan penelitian ini. Masalah yang dimaksud berupa soal cerita pada materi pecahan pokok bahasan taksiran. Penelitian ini termasuk deskriptif kualitatif dengan 20 siswa kelas IV SDN Plabuhan 1 sebagai subjek penelitian. Soal tes literasi matematika serta pedoman wawancara merupakan instrumen dalam penelitian ini, dengan peneliti sebagai instrumen utama. Analisis data dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan tahapan reduksi, display serta verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kemampuan literasi matematika siswa kelas IV SDN Plabuhan 1 dalam pemecahan masalah soal cerita masih rendah yang ditunjukkan dengan 67% siswa belum mampu dalam mengidentifikasi permasalahan dan merumuskan penyelesaian dengan baik, 89% siswa belum mampu menggunakan prosedur atau konsep matematika dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan secara tepat dan sistematis  dan 67% siswa belum mampu dalam menjelaskan penyelesaian dan menafsirkan kesimpulan.Mathematical literacy needs to be developed since elementary education. This is important to ensure that future generations are ready to solve , problems in all aspects of life. However, in reality, students' literacy skills have not met expectations. Describing the mathematical literacy ability of elementary school students in problem solving is the aim of this study. The problem in question is in the form of story questions on the subject matter of the estimated fraction. This research is a qualitative descriptive type with 18 4th grade students at SDN Plabuhan 1 as the research subjects. Mathematical literacy test questions and interview guidelines are instruments in this study, with the researcher as the main instrument. , Data analysis was carried out with the stages of reduction, , display and verification. The results showed that the mathematical literacy ability of fourth graders at SDN Plabuhan 1 in solving story problems was still low, which was indicated by 67% of students not being able to identify problems and formulate solutions properly, 89% of students had not been able to use mathematical concepts or procedures in solving problems accurately and systematically and 67% of students have  ,not been able to explain the completion and interpret conclusions.

Abstract

Penelitian  ini  bertujuan  untuk  mengetahui  keefektifan  penerapan lesson study dalam meningkatkan kompetensi calon guru matematika. Kompetensi yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini meliputi kompetensi menyusun RPP dan melaksanakan praktik pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa peserta PPL I (B) yang berjumlah 7 orang di Program studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas  Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum Jombang tahun akademik 2014/2015. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Sebelum dan sesudah pelaksanaan lesson study, mahasiswa diberi tugas menyusun RPP dan kelengkapannya serta diukur  unjuk kerjanya dalam mempraktikan rancangan pembelajaran  tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kompetensi mahasiswa  sebagai calon guru matematika dalam menyusun RPP serta mempraktikan pembelajarannya meningkat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek pada mahasiswa calon guru matematika pada matakuliah Penilaian Hasil Belajar (PHB) dan respon mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika FMIPA Unipdu Jombang semester gasal tahun akademik 2016/2017 yang mengambil matakuliah PHB. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pembelajaran berbasis proyek meliputi tahapan: (1) pra proyek, yaitu: (a) penyampaian proyek dan ketentuan-ketentuannya, pembahasan teori (materi) perkuliahan, pembagian kelompok dan materi proyek; (2) pelaksanaan proyek dan evaluasi, sedangkan respon mahasiswa terhadap pelaksanaan proyek PHB yaitu mahasiswa merasa senang karena tugas-tugas pada proyek dapat memberikan banyak manfaat terutama dalam mendukung kompetensi mahasiswa sebagai calon guru matematika.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in developing students' mathematical literacy skills. One way teachers can assess their mathematical literacy skills is by how they pose questions with a word problem theme. Word problem questions are mathematical problems that occur in everyday life and are presented in narrative form. However, in reality, mathematics teachers often give questions in the form of mathematical symbols. This study aims to explore the obstacles experienced by teachers in compiling word problem mathematical literacy questions and their solutions. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The data is then analyzed with the stages of reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The subjects in this study were teachers from seven different schools in Jombang Regency. The results of the study showed that the obstacles for teachers in submitting mathematical literacy questions were: difficulty in developing interesting and relevant questions to real life, difficulty in developing HOTS questions, lack of evaluation in the process of compiling mathematical literacy questions, time constraints, lack of familiarity with interactive technology and lack of training in compiling mathematical literacy questions. The solutions offered: providing mathematical literacy training through discussions and workshops, encouraging teachers to collaborate and share question ideas with other teachers, and providing relevant technology training.
