Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of achievement motivation and ability to think critically about the results of science learning outcomes student elementary school. The research was conducted in the fifth grade SDN Sukatani IV, Cimanggis, Depok, in May 2013 at the second semester. This research uses 100 respondents, drawn with simple random sampling technique. This research method with a survey method using path analysis, which aims to examine: 1) the direct effect between achievement motivation on learning outcomes of Natural Sciences, 2) the direct effect between the critical thinking skills of the Natural Sciences learning outcomes, 3) the influence directly between achievement motivation on students' critical thinking skills. In this study, it can be concluded that there is a direct effect between achievement motivation toward science learning outcomes, there is a direct influence of critical thinking on science learning outcomes, and there is a direct influence of achievement motivation on critical thinking. Keywords: achievement motivation, critical thinking, science learning outcomes Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi berprestasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam siswa Sekolah Dasar .Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sukatani IV, Cimanggis, Depok, pada bulan Mei tahun ajaran 2012/2013 semester II. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 100 responden yang diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Metode penelitian ini dengan metode survey dengan menggunakan path analysis. Uji normalitas menggunakan uji Liliefors diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,057 untuk variabel motivasi berprestasi, 0,085 untuk variabel berpikir kritis, dan 0,051 untuk variabel hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dengan Ltabel sebesar 0,889 yang menyatakan H0 diterima yang berarti data berdistribusi normal. Uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Bartlet diperoleh nilai sebesar 1,581 dengan X¬2tabel sebesar 3,481 yang menyatakan H0 diterima yang berarti data bersifat homogen.Dalam penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh langsung antara motivasi berprestasi terhadap hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam sebesar 0,299, terdapat pengaruh langsung antara berpikir kritis terhadap hasil belajar Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam sebesar 0,657 dan terdapat pengaruh langsung antara motivasi berprestasi terhadap berpikir kritis sebesar 0,783. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dance extracurricular activities on character education of students at Al Choir Pangeran Jayakarta Elementary School, focusing on four character indicators: discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and self-confidence. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest control group design, the sample consisted of 30 second-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire, and the data were analyzed through normality, homogeneity, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test tests. The results showed a significant increase in the character of students in the experimental group after participating in dance activities, as well as a significant difference in posttest scores compared to the control group. Thus, dance extracurricular activities have been proven to have a positive effect on the formation of character education of elementary school students.

Abstract

This correlational study aims to investigate the relationship between critical thinking skills and students’ science literacy in Grade IV science learning at elementary schools in Duren Sawit District. The sample of this study consisted of 92 fourth grade students from SDN Duren Sawit 10, SDN Duren Sawit 05, and SDN Duren Sawit 18, located in East Jakarta. The sample was selected using a cluster random sampling technique. The research employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. Data were collected using essay-based tests and analyzed using a t-test. The analysis results show a positive relationship between critical thinking skills and science literacy, as evidenced by the value of t_count > t_table (7.779 > 1.987). These findings indicate that critical thinking skill can be considered as one of the efforts to improve the science literacy of fourth grade elementary school students.
