As a Hinduism holy script Bhagavadgita was cortained the principle view of faith. In this script, fundamental aspec: of thing always depended to cosmic view manifested in concept of Atman and Brahman, Bhagavadgita explained non-dualistic philosophy as a ground of ethics, namely Isvara (God from Shankara) who had good attitudes (sagunas)

Identity is the basic principle of the society. The search for identity and effort to build and defend identity is the fundamental struggle for society. Theoretically, the prosperous society depends on the strength of its identity. The society can achieve the social advancement, extraordinary ethos, and creativity because of their strong identity. This article attempts to explain how identity and self-capability contribute to the social advancement. This explanation refers to the thought of the modern gigantic Turkish thinker, Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. Exploring the construction of Said Nursi?s concept of Islamic identity and self-capability in developing society, especially in social prosperity and economic progression, this paper attempts to explain the foundation of social and individual prosperity. According to Said Nursi, the development of culture and civilization will be established by powerful identity which constructed by awareness of collective personality (?ahs-? manevi). The powerful identity, therefore, bases on the spirit of self-capability that will raise a progress and development. Referring to Said Nursi, this basic foundation of self-capability developed through three principles, namely self-interest versus self-sacrifice, extravagance versus frugality, and greed versus contentment. Then, by practicing and applying these three values, the prosperity and development can be achieved.

A discourse of women empowerment has been understood to be based on social capital , from the existence and the role of women themselves. This article is an attempt to enrich the discourse of women empowerment based on mosque. The function and the role of mosque will be socially linked to the patterns of women’s empowerment in creating food security i.e. rice barns. So far, the function of mosque is seen limited to a place for religious rituals that have a limited implication on its social role. Similarly, the function and the role of women in the village in particular, are also limited in the public sector. By using the constructive theory of Peter L. Berger, the analysis argues that the “culture†of the mosque provides an affinity for village women to develop empowerment models in the form of rice granaries with the patterns of participation and local organizational capacity. Supported by theological values of the mosque’s function and role, both patterns allow women to play their social functions and roles to be more wider.[Wacana pemberdayaan perempuan yang selama ini dipahami merupakan wacana yang berbasis social capital dari eksistensi dan peran perempuan itu sendiri.

The origin of the history of religion is closedly related to water re- sources. It had been known that, since the beginning people always lived in fertile river valley or other places that they could acquire water resources. These phenomena can be vividly seen in the history of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Babylonia, Phunisia, Accadia, Assyria, and so forth. Born in the fertile valleys, adherents of those religious traditions worshipped the godess as a “god of fertilityâ€. They associ- ated the concept of fertility with the godesses. This tradition was not only preserved by ancient tradition but also perpetuated by new reli- gious tradition such as early Catholicism as well as other religious traditions. In relation to such a notion, this article intends to explore the phenomenon of interrelation between the pilgrimage tradition in Catholicism and the concept of water and role of Mary as a “holy motherâ€. Both water and Mary have correlated to some holy places that followers of Catholicism use to visit.

Disease prevention is almost always done with a modern approach through medical science or other public health sciences. This approach is the primary reference in mitigating the spread of the disease. In fact, in Indonesian society, there are local wisdoms in the traditions of each ethnic group in tackling the spread of disease, for example, the Javanese tradition. Javanese culture has local wisdom in dealing with pandemics passed down from generation to generation. This study attempts to answer how the mitigation pattern in Javanese culture is. Anthropologically, pandemics can be studied under health anthropology on disease. By taking the case of the Javanese people in Indonesia, this article describes local ways of preventing and overcoming disease outbreaks or mitigating disease outbreaks. The data source of this article is produced from qualitative research through interview techniques, focus group discussions, online seminars, and the study of manuscripts from magazines published in Java. The results showed that local communities, in addition to knowing the causes of disease, also developed ways to prevent and eliminate diseases, and mitigate outbreaks and pandemics. Javanese people see the mitigation of diseases physically and psychically. Physical mitigation tends to be in line with modern medical methods and the application of new normal. The mitigation of psychics is done by using mantras and songs and developing Javanese attitude of “narima ing pandum”  (take it as it comes).

Islam has been known as a religion of Rahmatn lil’alamiin which guarantees inclusion and maintains a treatise on all humanity. However, the interpretation of universality of Islam does not meet a common understanding even though within Muslim community itself. Those diverse interpretations have resulted in how the universality of Islam has been expressed. One of those quarrels toward interpretation is the discussion of Islam Nusantara. West Sumatera is one of the regions in Indonesia which implements Islamic law as its customary law in which rejection against Islam Nusantara has been echoed across the borders. The rejection caused reactions from various parties since West Sumatera strongly stated the rejection as a way for preserving it. Those dispute has been sharpened by the online news in several Indonesian media that began to raise the phenomenon up. This research aim to find out how those medias frame the news and whether online media contribute on minimizing public tensions. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. The source of the data focused on Indonesian online media news on 2018 and was analyzed with framing analysis from Robert N. Entman and also using the concept of treatment recommendation as an analyzes of dispute resolution. The results discovered that media with its framing analysis technique has their own moral judgement and treatment recommendation as a form of dispute resolution towards discourses in the media. This moral judgment can show the tendency and alignment of a media regarding an issue. In addition, the media also has an important role in developing the audience’s mindset in the midst of dispute it can be analyzed from the treatment recommendation that can be used as a media based dispute resolution.

This article analyzes the Kotabaru Jazz Festival in Yogyakarta as a form of inclusive spatial production within the context of Muslim-Christian relationships. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and Edward Soja’s Thirdspace framework, this article explores how public space in the Kotabaru cultural heritage area has been reproduced through collaborative work across religions, communities, and social institutions. Data were obtained through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and field documentation. The research findings indicate that the festival is not merely a cultural event, but also a spatial practice that combines three spatial dimensions: physical space, representational space, and lived space. The use of spatial elements such as churches, mosques, heritage buildings, and public streets serves as a symbol of diversity and nationalism. Interactions between individuals and groups during the festival create tangible forms of interfaith solidarity. The visual representations, artistic expressions, and public narratives present in the festival form a symbolic space that encourages social inclusion and opens up space for interfaith pedagogy. This article confirms that festivals as social and cultural practices have the potential to create dialogical spaces and strengthen social cohesion in multifaith societies in a postcolonial context.
