Abstract

Harapan Jaya is one of the villages in South Misool that has not been trained by the community empowerment program from the Higher Education Institution. Based on the results of observations and dialogues with the figures concerned, there were several problems in the location, including early childhood education. For this reason, community empowerment was carried out through the activation of Early Childhood Education in Harapan Jaya Village, South Misool. The method used by the team concerns the preparation, formulation, socialization and implementation of work programs. The results obtained by the team have succeeded in starting to reactivate Early Childhood Education which has been inactive for a long time. Various methods of preparation to implementation have been carried out well so that the residents are very enthusiastic about this program. Literacy training was given by the team to residents who would later become teachers in Early Childhood Education in this area. In addition, material and media assistance is also provided to prospective teachers so that this Early Childhood Education can continue independently.

Abstract

Soil conditions need to be evaluated to determine the potential productivity index of the land. One of the food crops that has long been developed by farmers in Cimaung Village, Cikeusal District is peanuts. The decline in soil conditions is caused by more intensive land management, so it is necessary to analyze the potential productivity index of the soil. This study aims to determine the potential productivity index of the soil for peanut land use which can display soil productivity before burial. This research was conducted in a farmer's garden, in Cimaung Village, Cikeusal District, Serang Regency, Banten Province (Coordinates 6o12'14'' S and 106o11'52'' E). The magnification of the potential index of soil productivity used the modified Storie (1987) method, which was adjusted to the research location using several soil property parameters, which effective depth of soil, soil texture, permeability, C-organic, pH, N-total, P and CEC. The results showed that the potential productivity index of the resulting soil was in class IV with a value of 28% in the bad category with the limiting factor "having limitations on locational commodities". Suitability limitations are influenced by soil fertility and soil acidity, so it is necessary for wise land management managers to make improvements in the management of fertilization using organic matter.

ABSTRACTAquaponics training is designed to provide knowledge and skills in cultivating landless technology that focuses on combining aquaculture and agriculture that are environmentally friendly with little capital and can be easily carried out by the community. This Aquaponic training will be held on Saturday, 04 March 2023, located in the community hall building of Kokoda Village, Malawele Village, Aimas District, Sorong Regency. Aquaponics training participants learn how to sow plant seeds, the equipment and materials needed, how to assemble planting media, and how to care for and harvest fish and vegetables. The purpose of aquaponics training for the community is; (1) to train the community to be productive even in limited land conditions; (2) to add insight and skills to the community about cultivation without soil which is cheap and easy to do. The method used in community service is a combination of direct counseling, coaching, and training so that the community understands the material and cultivation practices well. Budikdamber or aquaponics in a bucket is a way of cultivating without using large areas of land and of course, it is more efficient. Akuamber's work system is cultivating fish and vegetables in one bucket which is an aquaponic system (polyculture of catfish and kale). Aquaponic does not require a large area of land but narrow yards belonging to the residents, so that it can carry out cultivation and an easy maintenance process with a lot of production so that it helps the community in saving expenses or spending on vegetables and fish. In the training conducted by the Team, the participants, namely the Kokoda Village community consisting of Papuan mothers, were very enthusiastic and interested in farming with the aquaponics system. Keywords: aquaponics; budikdamber; papuan women; kokoda village.

Abstract

This community service iitiative aims to develop an eco-friedly product utilizing local natural resources, specifically Avicenna marina mangrove leaves as raw material for candle production. The innovattion is driven by the ecological and economic potential of mangrove plants, which have not yet been optimally utilized, alongside the need for alternative income sources for coastal communities. The implementation method includes literature review, processing mangrove leaves through boiling and mixing with basic candle materials, production training for coastal residents and mentoring of small-scale environmentally based enterprises. The results of the activity indicate that the candles produced have stable flame performance, a natural aroma and aesthetically appealing qualities suitable for commercial sale. This program serves as an inital step in developing a creative economy model based on mangrove ecosystes, which can be replicated in other coastal regions. Through a collaborative and sustainable approach, this initiative demonstrates that environmental conservation and social empowerment can go hand in hand.
