Abstract

This community service activity focuses on strengthening the participation of Simarmata youth (Generasi Muda Simarmata) in national development through participatory entrepreneurship development strategies. In the era of globalization, young people are expected not only to become beneficiaries of development but also to act as active agents of change within their local communities. However, limited entrepreneurial capacity, lack of practical exposure, and insufficient access to empowerment programs often hinder the optimization of their potential. This program was conducted from April 10–12, 2026, in Simarmata Village, Samosir Regency, involving approximately 300 participants representing Simarmata youth and interregional youth communities from various regions in Indonesia. The activity was implemented through interactive seminars and participatory discussions focusing on the strategic role of youth in nation-building and entrepreneurship development strategies. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ awareness, motivation, and understanding of entrepreneurship as a driver of economic and social transformation. More importantly, the program successfully strengthened the identity and role of Simarmata youth as a community-based development force, fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable economic initiatives. This study highlights that community-based participatory programs are effective in empowering local youth communities, particularly in enhancing entrepreneurial capacity and strengthening their contribution to sustainable national development.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support the quality assurance of vocational education through the supervision of Competency Skills Examinations (CSE) for vocational high school students. The activity was conducted at SMK Bintang Timur Pematangsiantar on March 2, 2026, involving a total of 30 twelfth-grade students. The implementation of the activity was carried out through direct supervision, examination monitoring, verification of examination procedures, observation of students’ performance, and coordination with the examination committee to ensure that the assessment process complied with the established competency standards and examination guidelines. The external supervisors from Politeknik Bisnis Indonesia were Erwin Sirait, S.Kom., M.Kom., and Viktor M. Siregar, S.Kom., M.Kom. The results showed that the Competency Skills Examination was conducted effectively, orderly, and according to the predetermined schedule. Students were able to complete the examination process in accordance with the established procedures, while the supervision process ensured fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout the assessment activities. This activity has a positive impact on strengthening the quality of vocational education assessment, supporting competency-based evaluation, and enhancing stakeholders’ confidence in the implementation of competency examinations as an important measure of students’ readiness to enter the workforce.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing student collaborative learning, with a particular emphasis on AI-driven feedback mechanisms and patterns of student interaction in developing effective collaborative skills. Unlike prior studies, this research highlights the mediating effect of AI-driven feedback on teamwork efficiency and overall learning outcomes in collaborative environments. An explanatory quantitative approach was applied using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to ensure robust data analysis. Data were collected from 112 university students who were actively engaged in AI-assisted collaborative learning activities, using a structured online survey instrument. The data were subsequently analyzed using SmartPLS software. The results reveal that AI significantly enhances student interaction (β = 0.534, p < 0.000) and improves problem-solving feedback (β = 0.620, p < 0.000), both of which contribute to significantly strengthening collaborative skills (β = 0.716, p < 0.000). However, the findings also indicate that AI alone does not directly improve collaboration without the support of structured pedagogical design and guidance. Therefore, universities should strategically integrate AI-driven feedback into Learning Management Systems (LMS) and strengthen digital literacy initiatives to optimize the effectiveness and sustainability of AI in collaborative learning contexts.

Abstract

This study examines how data-driven operations management capabilities shape supply chain innovation performance among retail firms operating in volatile, digitally mediated markets. Despite enthusiasm for analytics, artificial intelligence, and real-time visibility tools, retailers still struggle to convert data investments into measurable innovation outcomes, and the mechanisms linking specific data-driven capabilities to innovation remain fragmented across the literature. Drawing on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory, this research proposes and empirically tests a model linking three data-driven capabilities, namely data analytics capability, real-time supply chain visibility, and artificial intelligence/machine learning adoption, to supply chain innovation performance, with data-driven decision-making culture as a mediating mechanism. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey design was employed, collecting responses from 215 operations and supply chain managers in retail organizations, analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results indicate that all three capabilities exert significant positive effects on supply chain innovation performance, with data-driven decision-making culture partially mediating these relationships. Real-time visibility emerged as the strongest direct predictor, followed by AI/ML adoption and data analytics capability. These findings extend supply chain innovation theory by clarifying the differentiated contribution of distinct data-driven capabilities and offer practical guidance for retail operations managers seeking to prioritize digital investments that generate innovation returns rather than incremental efficiency gains alone.
