Abstract

The study aims to analyze the students’ writing analytical exposition text in the pandemic era and the students’ responses leathe rning writing analytical exposition in pandemic era.  The design of study was content analysis (CA) that creating experiences from unstructured message content. The data collected were students’ writing, questionnaire and interview. The instrument of study was the writer itself. The data describe it by qualitative approach. The study conducted at SMAN 1 Karangbinangun Lamongan that subjects of study was XI IPA 1, XI IPA 2, XI IPA 3. It was about 10 students from each grade, it means 30 students.  The finding of study were 7 students were poor in grammar, 27 students were poor in vocabularies, 15 students were bad in organize the writing, 21 students were poor in mechanism in writing. Considering the finding are the most error in writing analytical exposition was the students’ vocabulary acquisition. The finding also supported by the students’ responses in learning writing analytical exposition which told that their error writing because of they were poor in vocabulary. It means that before teach the students in writing English, the teacher have to master the students’ vocabulary acquisitions.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to develop learning media as the innovation English app in enhancing the process of teaching-learning English in 4.0 Era. Through this app, it can be integrated by hybrid learning model that is prepared to deal with post-pandemic era challenge. This research was conducted based on the results of needs analysis of current learning that cannot be carried out fully face-to-face, as well as needs students and educators towards effective learning media. The objectives of this research are to elaborate the process of designing and developing learning media English App based M-Learning and examine the feasibility of that media in learning process of General English Courses in University of Billfath. The research design used is Research and Development (R&D) by applying the ADDIE model with five stages: analyze phase; design; development; implementation; evaluation. In further, the result of this research points out that in analyze phase found 71,3 % college students requires specific learning media-based M-learning that can be applied in hybrid learning model. While in the process of design and development English App as has been validated by experts that describe material validation 88,5 % and media validation 89% that can be said that the product is valid and deemed to be implemented. The stage of implementation is conducted seven meeting by hybrid learning. Furthermore, in evaluation stage indicates that the product has been feasibility to be applied in English learning due to the result obtained 80,6% (valid product). Hence, Mobile English App that is developed for college students in learning English has been succeed in fostering students ‘motivation and ability in General English Course.

Abstract

This study aims to develop the Android-based worksheet media by Kahoot application on grammar and analyze the feasibility of it. This design of this study uses Research & Development (R&D) method which uses ADDIE model by Dick & Carey (1996). Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, questionnaires by validity tests data and data feasibility tests, and documentation. The validation of learning media was carried out by media and material experts, and English teachers. The media was tested on 18 students of X MIPA. Data analysis techniques use mixed method by percentages. The results of this study indicate that the media is feasible to use because it has been approved by experts with 96% media percentage, 78% material, 92% teacher and 83.8% student response percentage. In addition, media is more fun and students can encourage their curiosity also foster them in understanding grammar. Keywords: Android, Development, Grammar, Kahoot Application, Worksheet Media

Abstract

In this modern era, English is an international language that must be mastered by all people. In the world of education, English is introduced from an early age through various methods. However, not all schools are able to apply effective learning methods according to the level and characteristics of students. As is the case in Dateng Village, Laren sub-district, the teaching and learning process in several elementary schools is still very ineffective, especially in learning English. Ineffectiveness has an impact on students' motivation and enthusiasm for learning. One of the factors is the lack of fun learning methods. Therefore, the selection of media needs to be considered before learning activities. In this teaching and learning the Community Service team uses the Englsih for Young Learners theory approach with media suitable for elementary level students, namely through games to develop English vocabulary.. This media focuses on listening, listening, and speaking skills. The purpose of learning English is to increase students' enthusiasm in learning English and improve English language skills that are more effective and fun. The results of community service are 1. Interest and ability of students in learning English is increased 2. Basic abilities, especially in English vocabulary are more varied

Abstract

Kebalan Kulon Village is one of the villages in Lamongan Regency, East Java. This village has quite a good potential in its role in the field of UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises). The UMKM products produced are food products produced by local communities. The food products produced are products that have high selling power. The product marketing process that has been carried out by the UMKM group is through consignment at supermarkets. This is a concern for researchers from Billfath University to participate in product marketing so training is needed in the form of effective marketing planning through digital systems. It is hoped that the digital sales system will provide opportunities for UMKM to make the sales process easier. Sales made digitally are expected to provide significant profits. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The training carried out by the Billfath University Community Service team was to provide technical sales guidance through the marketplace by guiding all UMKM members in Kebalankulon Village in utilizing digital sales technology.

Abstract

This study analyzes the novel You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao to find the meaning of the reincarnation symbol contained in the novel by using semiotic theory by Roland Barthes. In semiotic theory there are five codes namely hermeneutic code, symbolic code, connotative code, cultural code, and action code. In the five codes, three of them describe the symbol of reincarnation in the story, namely the hermeneutic code, the symbolic code, and the connotative code. This study uses a text-oriented approach that focuses on the meaning of the symbol of reincarnation in the main character by analyzing and describing the symbol of reincarnation. The techniques used in collecting data in this study are Documenting Data, Taking Notes and Close Reading. The results of this study indicate that of Roland Barthes' five semiotic codes, there are three codes described, namely hermeneutic codes, symbolic codes, and connotative codes. where there are 24 symbols that describe reincarnation, the hermeneutic code has 8 symbols, the symbolic code has 12 symbols and, 4 connotative symbols describe the reincarnation of the main character in the novel You've Reached Sam.
