Abstract

Latar Belakang: Cedera adalah hal biasa yang sering dijumpai disetiap aktifitas khususnya olahraga. Futsal sendiri termasuk golongan olahraga body contact dimana tidak menutup kemungkinan akan terjadinya cedera pada saat melakukan pertandingan. Siapa saja bisa mengalami cedera pada saat melangsungkan pertandingan tetapi tidak semua orang memiliki pemahaman mengenai penanganan cedera. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pemahaman penanganan cedera akut dengan metode R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) pada pemain futsal yanitra fc sidoarjo usia 16-23 tahun.Metode: Penelitian ini berjenis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Sasaran atau subjek penelitian adalah 16 orang. Pengisian kuesioner yang bersifat tertutup digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian.Hasil: Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan tingkat pemahaman penanganan cedera akut dengan metode RICE ada 7 pemain (43.75%) tergolong dalam kategori œBaik Sekali, 8 pemain (50%) tergolong dalam kategori œBaik sedangkan 1 pemain (6.25%) tergolong dalam kategori œCukup.Kesimpulan: Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Tingkat Pemahaman Penanganan Cedera Akut Dengan Metode R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) Pada Pemain Futsal Yanitra Fc Sidoarjo Usia 16-23 Tahun tergolong dalam kategori œBAIK jika dilihat dari latar belakang para responden yang sebagian besar tidak memiliki pengetahuan dasar tentang Pertolongan Pertama Cedera (PPC).

Abstract

The number of elderly people increases every year, creating challenges in maintaining health and quality of life, particularly related to sleep disorders that are commonly experienced. This Community Service Program (CSP) was conducted at Sasana Healthy Kranji Community, Paciran District, Lamongan Regency, with the aim of improving the sleep quality of the elderly through Slow Stroke Back Massage (SSBM) training as a non-pharmacological therapy. The methods used included socialization, demonstration, and hands-on practice with the elderly and their caregivers. The evaluation results showed that the activity ran well and received positive responses, with an average participant satisfaction score of 4.3 out of 5. Participants reported that SSBM provided relaxation effects, reduced muscle tension, and helped them sleep more soundly. This activity proves that SSBM training is effective, easy to implement, and beneficial for improving the well-being of the elderly through a community-based non-pharmacological approach.

Abstract

The main movements in swimming, such as kicking, body rotation, and push-offs from the pool wall, heavily depend on the coordination and strength of the hip muscles. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between muscle mass and the strength of hip ABD and ADD muscles in sub-elite swimmers. A total of 33 swimmers, consisting of 20 males and 13 females with characteristics (height 164.30±7.57 cm, weight 56.39±7.58 kg, age 17.36±1.55 years), were involved in the study. Body composition data were obtained using an InBody 270 body composition analyzer, and the data used were skeletal muscle mass (SMM). Meanwhile, ABD and ADD muscle strength was measured using the Force-Frame Strength Testing System. The results of this study indicated a significant relationship between muscle mass and left ADD muscle strength (p-value 0.001 and r-value 0.648), muscle mass and right ADD muscle strength (p-value 0.001 and r-value 0.628), muscle mass and left ABD muscle strength (p-value 0.001 and r-value 0.684), and muscle mass and right ABD muscle strength (p-value 0.001 and r-value 0.655). The results suggest that muscle mass contributes to more specific muscle strength in the hip ABD and ADD muscles, which play a role in maintaining stability during swimming and the breaststroke kick. Further research is recommended to include variations of swimming strokes focusing on other styles and to involve elite athletes to gain a broader understanding of the contribution of muscle mass and muscle strength to swimming performance.

Abstract

Exhaustive exercise could increase oxygen consumption 10 to 20 times folds which can then increase oxidative stress which is characterized by an increase in Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Increased oxidative stress (ROS) during exercise could cause cell damage. Selenium is a trace element that is believed to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a 28-day supplementation period on plasma MDA and HMGB1 levels after high-intensity exercise activities. Methods: This study was experimental, with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. A total of 28 Sports Science Department students at Universitas Negeri Surabaya who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria participated in the study. Through simple random sampling, participation was divided into 2 groups, namely the selenium group (SG) and the placebo (PL) group. Selenium supplements for SG were 200 mcg/day, and PL was 100mg corn starch capsules, both groups consumed in 28 days. Participants performed bench-stepping by Newham with 10 sets x 10 repetitions, with 1-minute intervals. Plasma MDA and HMGB1 measurements were carried out immediately after, 24 hours after, and 48 hours after bench-stepping. Data on changes in plasma levels of MDA and HMGB1 were tested using repeated measures ANOVA with a significance level of P<0.05. Result: there was a significant difference in the plasma MDA and HMGB1 between each group with the significance value of MDA that was p = 0.000 and the significance value of HMGB1 that was p = 0.000. Selenium supplementation for 28 days reduces the increase in oxidative stress (MDA) and increase in HMGB1 after high-intensity exercise activities.
