Abstract

Anxiety is an emotional condition that causes discomfort which is characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety and fear so that it can interfere with life. One of the factors that cause anxiety in the elderly is spiritual activity. The higher the spiritual level of the elderly, the lower the level of anxiety will be. This study aimed to determine the correlation between spiritual level and anxiety in the hypertensive elderly. The design of this study was correlational with a cross sectional approach. The sample was 31 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and the statistical test used was Rank Spearman. The measuring instruments used were the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES) and Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS) questionnaires. The research results showed that most of the respondents were at a moderate spiritual level (58.1%) and most of the respondents were at a moderate level of anxiety (71.0%). The Spearman Rank test result showed a Significance (2-tailed) result of 0.000 (ρ 0.05). So, it can be concluded that there was a significant correlation between Spiritual and Anxiety Level with a very strong relationship. The higher the spiritual level, the lower the level of anxiety felt. Therefore, spiritual activities such as getting closer to God, participating in studies, reading holy books or holy Qur’an that are believed to be, and having a good relationship with the surrounding environment are very beneficial for the elderly to control their anxiety, especially for the elderly who have chronic diseases.

Abstract

Abstrak Kesiapsiagaan wajib dimiliki oleh individu karena dapat mempengaruhi pengetahuannya untuk memiliki tingkat kesiapsiagaan dalam mengantisipasi bencana. Kegiatan simulasi akan mempermudah individu melakukan tindakan evakuasi sebelum terjadinya bencana. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi resiko bencana tsunami. Metode yang digunakan oleh tim pengabdi yaitu dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran dikelas dan pembelajaran dilapangan dengan simulasi. Hasil pengabdian sebelum di berikan edukasi dan simulasi bencana tsunami didapatkan 76% siswa merasa tidak siap dan setelah dilakukan pengabdian 80% memiliki kesiapsiagaan baik. Edukasi dan simulasi bencana tsunami mampu merubah tingkat kesiapsiagaan siswa SMA. Isi penyampaian dan pemberian tindakan simulasi bisa di dapatkan memalui buku atau internet yang berisi tentang peningkatan tingkat kesiapsiagaan dan bisa diberikan langsung oleh lembaga kebencanaan. Maka disarankan untuk siswa dan masyarakat agar tetap mencari informasi yang berisi tentang simulasi bencana upaya untuk meningkatkan tingkat kesiapsiagaan.

Abstract

Background: The child has difficulty in understanding why they are sick, hospitalization can cause separation anxiety in children, which includes protest, despair, discharge, loss of control so it needs bibliotherapy. Bibliotherapy is the use of the book as a medium of therapy to minimize stressors, prevent the loss, reduce anxiety, and support children coping. Aims: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect Biblio therapy against anxiety levels in school-age children (7-12 years) in the Children's Room of Blambangan Banyuwangi Hospital. Methods: Pre-experimental research design using the technique of one group pre-post test design. A sample of 20 children with accidental sampling technique. Data obtained from observations before and after giving bibliotherapy, and then do the scoring, tabulating, and statistical tests using Wilcoxon match pair test. Results: Manually obtained calculation number 199> 52 = Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there are differences in anxiety levels before and after biblio therapy which means there is a significant effect of bibliotherapy on anxiety levels in school-aged children (7–12 years) in the Children's Room of Blambangan Hospital Banyuwangi. Conclusions: Billion therapy can be applied as one of the nursing interventions in the hospital to decrease the problem of children to keep children happy and cooperative during hospitalization.
