Abstract

Kopi merupakan minuman yang sudah melalui proses pengolahan dan ekstraksi dari biji tanaman kopi sehingga memiliki aroma khas. Kopi dapat memberikan manfaat yang baik untuk tubuh jika dikonsumsi tidak secara berlebihan. Kafein yang terkandung didalam kopi, menjadikan minuman kopi memiliki partikel yang lebih banyak dibandingkan air putih Untuk mengurangi risiko terbentuknya sedimentasi yang abnormal akibat dari mengkonsumsi kopi, alangkah baiknya masyarakat tidak mengkonsumsi kopi secara berlebihan. Tujuan dari kegiatan edukasi ini yaitu: 1) Memberikan informasi tentang kandungan kopi, manfaat dan bahaya minum kopi berlebihan. 2) Memberikan gambaran akibat minum kopi terhadap hasil pemeriksaan urine. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalag presentasi dan diskusi. . Untuk mengukurtingkat pemahaman peserta dilakukan tahap penjaringan (pre-test), kemudian pengolahan data dan yang terakhir tahap evaluasi kegiatan (post-test). Kegiatan ini diikuti sebanyak 38 peserta. Hasil rat-rata yang didapat dari pre-test sebesar 55,73 poin dan rata-rata hasil post test sebesar 78,41 poin. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang kandungan, bahaya dan akibat jika menkonsumsi kopi secara berlebihan. Kegiatan edukasi diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan sehingga masyarakat dapat mengkonsumsi kopi secara tidak berlebihan

Abstract

Hormonal changes in pregnant women are a process of preparing for the birth of a baby, pregnant women are very sensitive to infections from various microorganisms. Urinary tract infection is the most common bacterial infection in pregnancy, increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality of mothers and newborns. A white blood cell count of more than 15,000/mm3 is an indication of infection in pregnant women. Caused by viral, bacterial and protozoal infections. Infection in pregnant women must be detected early, in order to prevent preterm labor. One of the tests that can be done is to count the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes. This study was conducted to determine the results of erythrocytes and leukocytes in pregnant women. Community service education for pregnant women about the dangers of urinary tract infections in pregnancy to educate and inform health. Community service activities in the form of creative education through the presentation of poster and presentations are carried out directly at the bancaran village hall. Community service activities in the form of creative education related to education for pregnant women about the dangers of urinary tract infections in pregnancy in the Bancaran sub-district area were carried out well, and received a positive enthusiastic response.

Abstract

Oil sludge is a product of petroleum mining activities and causes environmental pollution. However, oil sludge, including hazardous and toxic waste materials (B3), has been less effective in reducing oil sludge pollution. Thus, the researcher solved the issue by using hydrocarbonoclastic. It is necessary to use hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria isolated directly from their habitat (indigenous bacteria) as hydrocarbon degrading agents. Therefore, this study aimed to isolate and identify indigenous thermophilic bacteria from East Kalimantan Oil sludge. This study is an observational study that is analyzed descriptively. Procedure for isolation and identification of thermophilic bacteria from oil sludge grow on Synthetic Mineral Water media (SMW) with and without an autoclave. The Microbact Identification System Kit GNB 24E was used to characterize colonies macroscopically, microscopically, Gram staining, physiological tests (catalase, coagulase, and motility tests), and biochemically. The bacteria that were successfully isolated were later identified with Microbact Software and Bergey's book Manual of Determinative Bacteriology Ninth Edition. The results of the isolation and identification of thermophilic Indigenous bacteria from Oil Sludge Kalimantan Timur found Pseudomonas aeruginosa species with a similarity accuracy of 98.33%. The identified bacterial isolates can later be used as bioremediation agents on soils polluted with oil sludge. Keywords : Indigenous bacteria, Oil Sludge, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Abstract

Coliform bacteria are indicators of food contamination that can cause diseases such as diarrhea. The presence of Coliform bacteria in food or beverages indicates poor hygiene and sanitation in food service providers. The purpose of this study was to determine Coliform bacteria in street vendors' snacks along Sutorejo street in Surabaya using the MPN (Most Probable Number) method, ALT (Total Plate Number) and identification of Coliform bacteria with Biochemical tests. This research method uses laboratory experiments. The results showed, of the 12 samples of snacks, there were 4 (33%) samples that met the MPN quality requirements and 8 (67%) samples that did not meet the requirements. Based on the ALT test, 3 (25%) samples met the SNI requirements and 9 (75%) samples did not meet the requirements. Coliform bacteria identification results, there were 6 (50%) positive samples of E.coli bacteria, 2 (17%) positive samples of Klebsiella sp., 1 (8%) positive sample of Enterobacter sp. and 3 (25%) samples were not contaminated by Coliform bacteria. From the results of this study it can be concluded that there are still many snacks contaminated by Coliform bacteria and dominated by E.coli.

Abstract

Salmonella typhi merupakan bakteri patogen penyebab demam tifoid yang masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat di berbagai negara berkembang. Penggunaan antibiotik sintetis secara luas dan tidak tepat telah berkontribusi terhadap meningkatnya resistensi bakteri, sehingga diperlukan alternatif agen antimikroba yang berasal dari bahan alami. Jatropha multifida Linn. (jarak cina) merupakan tanaman obat yang diketahui mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, dan tanin yang berpotensi memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antibakteri secara in vitro ekstrak daun Jatropha multifida terhadap pertumbuhan Salmonella typhi serta menentukan konsentrasi ekstrak yang paling efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan menggunakan metode difusi sumuran dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak 85%, 90%, dan 95%. Kloramfenikol digunakan sebagai kontrol positif dan akuades steril sebagai kontrol negatif. Setiap perlakuan dilakukan dengan empat kali pengulangan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji non-parametrik Kruskal–Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya efek hambat yang bersifat konsentrasi-dependen dengan rata-rata diameter zona hambat masing-masing sebesar 3,5 mm (85%), 5,75 mm (90%), dan 9 mm (95%). Kontrol positif menunjukkan diameter zona hambat sebesar 21,75 mm, sedangkan kontrol negatif tidak menunjukkan adanya zona hambat. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antar perlakuan (p < 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun Jatropha multifida memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Salmonella typhi dan berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai agen antibakteri alami.
