Abstract

Malang City is a city that has an increasing need for electrical energy in the technological era, which today is very much needed in fulfilling daily life, both for household, social and industrial needs. One of them is the supply of electrical energy for Public Street Lighting (PJU). If you only rely on the supply of electrical energy from grid, this is a heavy burden that must be borne by the Malang City Regional Budget to pay the electric energy consumption bill for the PJU. This study aims to determine the comparison of the use of conventional PJU with solar powered PJU (PJUTS) in the area of Gading Kasri Village, Klojen District, Malang City both in terms of technical installations which include solar panels, batteries, and charger controllers as well as from an economic point of view. That shines for 5 hours every day, the solar panel power specifications are 240 Wp with 37 points of light. Budget calculations using the ACS (Annual cost system) which is obtained in the 16th year the difference from the initial investment costs and revenue from sales met at BEP (break event point) amounting to Rp. 256,761,376.00.

Abstract

A large load imbalance is caused by the use of single-phase loads in a three-phase system, and poor harmonics are caused by non-sinusoidal loads, which result in losses in the network and poor quality of power distribution. This study aims to monitor and analyze load balance and harmonics in the Graha Polinema Building at Politeknik Negeri Malang. The research is a survey and case study using primary data obtained through direct measurement using a Web-Based Power Quality Meter (PM 5110) to gather data from each SDP panel, and secondary data through observation. From this study, the highest current imbalance value of 133.50% was found in the North 4th Floor SDP Panel of the Grapol Building, exceeding the IEEE 1159-2009 standard, which sets the limit for load imbalance at 30%. Current Harmonic Distortion (IHD) occurred in 8 SDP panels, except for the North and South Water Pump Panels. Total Demand Distortion (TDD) for all panels was within the standard limits. Total Harmonic Distortion (THDv) for all panels was also within the standard limits, with the highest value of 2.37% found in the North 4th Floor Panel.

Abstract

One of the feeders in PT. PLN (Persero) ULP is the Selecta Feeder. Based on data, the Selecta Feeder experienced 34 disturbances from January 2018 to November 2020, with a feeder load of 164 A, 106 distribution transformers (GTT), and a network length of 62.602 km. The Selecta Feeder is the feeder with the highest load in PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Batu, and the high number of disturbances on the Selecta Feeder will have a significant impact on the revenue of PT. PLN (Persero). There are 7 load break switches (LBS) and 1 recloser installed on the Selecta Feeder. During the period of January 2018 to November 2020, most of the disturbances occurred due to external factors and happened in sections 3 and 4. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure the continuity of electrical energy supply on the Selecta Feeder to anticipate widespread power outages by adding an installed recloser. A recloser is a protective device that can detect excessive current due to short circuits between phases or phase-to-ground faults, where the recloser automatically interrupts and recloses the circuit with an adjustable time delay.
