Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengetahui adanya pengaruh profesionalitas guru agama Katolik terhadap hasil belajar kognitif PAK, 2) mengatahui besarnya pengaruh profesionalitas guru agama Katolik terhadap hasil belajar kognitif PAK dan 3) mengetahui upaya apa yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil belajar kognitif PAK siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan model analisis regresi. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi agama Katolik kelas IX SMP Negeri II Merauke sebanyak 60 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan ialah angket dengan bentuk skala likert dengan jumlah butir instrumen penelitian variabel profesionalitas guru agama Katolik sebanyak 35 soal sedangkan hasil belajar kognitif PAK menggunakan nilai raport semester ganjil. Dari hasil validitas dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,25 pada variabel profesionalitas guru agama Katolik diperoleh sebanyak 33 item valid dan hasil belajar kognitif PAK siswa kelas IX dinyatakan baik. Sedangkan dari uji reabilitas variabel X diperoleh Alfa Cronbach sebesar 0,841 dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa butir-butir instrument dalam variabel X yakni profesionalitas guru agama Katolik dalam penelitian ini reliabel atau dapat dipercaya. Sedangkan, hasil hipotetis diperoleh dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Pada tabel model summary diperoleh nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,789. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel bebas berpengaruh sebesar 78,9% atau 79% terhadap variabel terikat, sedangkan 21% dipengaruhi variabel yang tidak diteliti. Hasil analisis data pada nilai Fhitung pada tabel anova yang menyatakan bahwa profesionalitas guru agama Katolik berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar kognitif PAK siswa SMP Negeri II Merauke diperkuat dengan hasil deskripsi data yang menunjukan bahwa tingkat frekuensi guru PAK dalam mengajar membimbing dan mengarahkan siswa dengan sangat baik saat proses pembelajaran PAK di sekolah sebesar 57% dan memiliki hasil belajar yang baik ditunjukan dengan nilai persentase sebesar 56,6%. Artinya profesionalitas guru agama Katolik yang memiliki kemampuan mengajar, membimbing dan mengarahkan peserta didik memiliki pengaruh dalam hasil belajar kognitif siswa baik di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are: 1) to determine whether there is an influence of Facebook use on the involvement of young Catholics of St. Peter Erom in participating in Church activities, 2) to determine the magnitude of the influence of Facebook on the involvement of young Catholics in participating in Church activities, 3) to find out what efforts can be made to increase the involvement of young Catholics in participating in Church activities. This type of research is quantitative with a regression analysis model. The sample of this study was young Catholics of St. Peter Erom parish, totaling 65 people. The instrument used is a questionnaire with Likert scale mode. From the results of the reliability test, an alpha coefficient of 0.945 was obtained, which means the reliability of the instrument is high. From the results of the simple linear regression test with a significance level of 5%, the significance value in the anova table is 0.000, which means that there is an effect of Facebook use on the involvement of young Catholics in Church activities. The R square value is 0.252, which means that the influence of Facebook social media variables on involvement in spiritual activities is 25.2%. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that increasing cooperation with catechists in planning and implementing programs for young Catholics so that the activities of young Catholics are increasingly programmed and well directed. Provide guidance to Catholic young people, especially to Catholic young people's administrators, so that they can schedule activities properly and sustainable.

Abstract

Millennials and Gen Z as the future of the Church have unique characteristics. These characteristics pose a challenge for traditional catechesis to reach and engage them in the proclamation of faith. This article explores the concept of contextualization of catechesis as a solution to overcome these challenges. Contextualization of catechesis can be defined as the process of adapting the message of faith to better suit the cultural and social audience. This contextualization of catechesis aims to make catechesis more relevant, interesting, and easily understood by the millennial generation and Gen Z. This article discusses catechesis contextualization strategies that can be applied, such as: understanding the characteristics and needs of millennials and Gen Z, utilizing technology and social media, involving millennials and Gen Z in the catechesis process, empowering creative and digitally literate catechists, and strengthening cooperation between family, Church, and school. In conclusion, contextualizing catechesis is an important and mandatory effort to reach and involve millennials and Gen Z so that they do not feel alienated in the Church. The author uses the term: “In through their door, out through our door”, because by applying the right strategy, contextualization of catechesis can touch the hearts and minds of millennials and Gen Z, helping them to grow in faith and Christian values.

Abstract

Orang muda Katolik (OMK) merupakan bagian penting dalam Gereja yang memiliki tanggung jawab dalam pengembangan dan pembaharuan Gereja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh katekese model Shared Christian Praxis (SCP) terhadap partisipasi aktif orang muda Katolik di Lingkungan Santo Yohanes De Brito Paroki Santo Yosep Bambu Pemali. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan model analisis regresi. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 60 orang muda Katolik dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat pengaruh signifikan katekese model SCP terhadap partisipasi aktif OMK dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05; (2) kontribusi katekese model SCP terhadap partisipasi aktif OMK sebesar 97%, sedangkan 3% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti; (3) solusi yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi aktif OMK adalah dengan meningkatkan kerjasama antara orang tua, ketua lingkungan, pastor paroki, dan umat untuk mengadakan kegiatan OMK secara terprogram. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan model pembinaan iman orang muda Katolik yang efektif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi aktif mereka dalam kehidupan menggereja.

Abstract

This study adopted a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological paradigm to understand the practices, barriers, and strategies for developing an inclusive culture in 102 primary schools in the Merauke district selected through cluster sampling from a population of 209 schools. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, online questionnaires, and documentation studies, then analyzed using a cycle of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results show that 84% of schools have not implemented the inclusion paradigm thoroughly, with existing implementation limited to learning adjustments and individualized assessments. Six main barriers were identified: unsupportive school policies and leadership, teachers' competence and lack of role of Special Assistance Teachers, rigid education unit curriculum, limited infrastructure, lack of professional experts, and suboptimal local government and community support. As a solution, it is recommended to strengthen the policy and vision-mission of inclusive schools, develop the professionalism of inclusive teachers and socialize Special Assistance Teachers, modify a more adaptive curriculum, improve accessibility infrastructure and adaptive learning media, add experts and strategic partners, develop a comprehensive support system, and collaborate across sectors.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology demands adaptation of learning methods, especially for Generation Z and Alpha students who are highly familiar with digital technology. However, many teachers still rely on conventional learning tools that are less engaging for students. This community service activity aimed to improve the competency of Catholic Religious Education teachers at the junior high school level in Merauke City in developing interactive digital teaching modules. The activity used participatory workshop methods involving 18 Catholic Religious Education teachers from various junior high schools in Merauke Regency. The workshop was conducted in three sessions: understanding the concept of interactive digital teaching modules, training in the use of educational applications, and presentation with evaluation and reflection. Data collection used pre- and post-activity assessments, observation, and documentation studies. Results showed significant improvement in teacher competency from an initial average score of 2.00 (sufficient category) to 3.45 (good category) after the workshop. All competency aspects experienced improvement, with the highest increase in AI-assisted teaching module development skills from 2.17 to 3.67. This activity successfully equipped teachers with knowledge and skills to develop interactive digital teaching modules that support more creative, engaging, and meaningful Catholic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

The misuse of glue among minors is a phenomenon that is gaining increasing attention due to its serious impact on children's physical and psychological health. This study aims to identify the underlying factors that cause deviant behaviour among minors, as well as to describe the impact of glue sniffing on child development and the preventive and curative measures that can be taken. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation methods, this study explores the internal, external, and social factors that contribute to glue sniffing. The research informants consisted of ten people, including glue sniffers, parents, mentors, community leaders, and environmental managers in Kamundu Village, Merauke Regency, South Papua, Indonesia. The results of the study show that the main contributing factors include a lack of supervision and attention from the family, the influence of the environment and peers, economic factors, a lack of understanding about the dangers of glue sniffing, and the easy availability of glue. The impacts experienced by children include physical growth disorders, mental disorders, and decreased cognitive function. Preventive and curative efforts involve a holistic approach that combines family guidance, community education, pastoral support from the Church, and government policies. The study concluded that addressing the problem of glue abuse requires intensive collaboration between parents, the community, the church, and the government to protect children from the adverse effects of substance abuse.

Abstract

In practical field experiences with an independent curriculum framework, learning tools, become interactive learning media that help teachers practice when teaching and interacting with students. The problem that occurs is that student teachers do not yet properly understand the concept and implementation of the curriculum. The pre-test results show that students do not have sufficient understanding, as evidenced by the average score obtained of 60.9. The improvement solution offered is a workshop on the implementation and preparation of independent curriculum tools in schools. This activity was carried out for 6 days with 120 participants. The implementation method uses a participatory approach with pretest activity steps, material presentation and posttest. The results of this workshop activity show that the workshop activity has a positive impact on students. In terms of the ability to understand the curriculum they are learning and the components in the learning tools, this is proven by the post-test scores with an average score of 82.3, while in terms of the ability to develop learning tools in group work, students can develop teaching modules and Pancasila profile modules correctly. The positive impact of this workshop activity increases students' self-confidence in carrying out practical field experiences at school in educational units according to their phases and characteristics.
