Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam hal keterampilan berbicara dengan menggunakan Strategi Quantum Learning. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah dengan menggunakan strategi Quantum Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa FKIP Bahasa Inggris semester IV TA 2016/2017 dalam hal keterampilan berbicara mereka, bila dibandingkan dengan tanpa menggunakan strategi Quantum learning. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dilihat dari 72 orang siswa, dalam mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian ini, peneliti membagi dalam 3 tahap yaitu : Deskripsi hasil perhitungan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikanjurusan bahasa Inggris TA 2016 – 2017 tanpa strategi Quantum learning.Deskripsi hasil perhitungan kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa fakultas keguruan dan ilmu  pendidikan  jurusan bahasa Inggris TA 2016 – 2017 dengan menggunakan strategi Quantum learning.Deskripsi hasil hubungan antara pengaruh penggunaan strategi Quantum Learning terhadap kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa FKIP jurusan bahasa Inggris TA 2016 - 2017

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of Mind Mapping Learning Model on students ability in writing in Public Speaking courses. The subjects of the study were all three semester students of English education which amounted to four classes of 60 students. This research uses questionnaires data which is distributed to 60 English Semester Three Students at UMSU. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis which include mean, median, standard error and standard deviation, and t test to know the influence of Mind Mapping Learning Model to students ability in writing in Public Speaking course. Abstract

This study deals with the Effect of Flipped Classroom into Focus Group Discussion in Speaking Setting Classroom. The researcher took this method by expecting that students would be more active in communication and doing great speaking with their teacher and friends in learning English. This study was conducting by using experimental and control class and it took 68 (sixty eight) total students of SMAS Budi Agung Medan as sample. They were divided into two groups, they were 37 students were taken as experimental group and by the effect group discussion in speaking, 31 students were taken as control group by flipped classroom method-centre learning by teacher. The instrument of this study was making the sentences they could by paying attention the grammar, pronunciation, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. The result of the t-test showed that the t-observed was higher than t-table (1.280>1.279). Group speaking method gave a significant effect on the students’ speaking. In order it is possible to make that the students' speaking enhanced as a result of the group discussion. The effect of speaking method in the students' flipped classroom performed better than the usual approach (TCL). Discussions in groups were of a lot of relaxing, cheerful, and challenging activities that make it difficult for students learn spoken English in the classroom.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the portrayal of student's in mastering reading comprehension after taught by LRD strategy. To improve students ' reading skills, researchers used the Listen Reading Discuss (LRD) method as a teaching method to assist students in improving their reading skills. The type of Applied Research is class action research consisting of two cycles, each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on the results of this study, there is an increase in reading ability. This can be seen from the average pre-test score of 56.28, post-test cycle I of 69.17, and post-test cycle II of 89.05. by increasing the percentage of mastery of classical learning by 20% in the pre-test, 60% in the first cycle and 97.14% in the second cycle. Learning English with the Listen Reading Discuss (LRD) method has succeeded in improving student skill achievement in Class X of SMA Brigjen Katamso II for the 2022/2023 academic year. Finally, the researcher suggested to the teachers to use the LRD method as a method of teaching and learning process in terms of reading skills.

Abstract

This study entitled œAnalysis the Effect of Polysemy on the Speech Learning from Covid-19 by Nadiem Makarim to Elementary School Student. The objectives of this study were (1) to identify the types of polysemy, (2) to investigate polysemy elements used in the speech, and (3) to identify the effect of polysemy were used on the speech to elementary students. The descriptive qualitative is applied in this study. The data were obtained from the speech by Nadiem makarim using documentation method. Afterward, analysis of this study use data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The findings of the research show that there are 65 data of polysemy™s words which find in Learning from Covid-19 speech. Based on the types of polysemy, most of Irregular Polysemy were 38 words (58.5%) and followed by Regular Polysemy with 27 words (41.5%). The effect of polysemy on the speech to the elementary student has not been widely applied to elementary school students. Inasmuch as, the student has limited complex reasoning to a word that has another meaning and is critical. In a sentence, polysemy plays an important role and has the function to distinguish the meaning of a word meaning.

Abstract

This research is entitled Analysis the Increase Learning Outcomes in Poets Subject Through CTL Approach to Grade III of State Elementary School 060807 Medan. The reason for this research is to improve the learning outcomes and learning exercises of grade III of State Elementary School 060807 Medan in learning to write poetry. This study utilized classroom research activities conducted in two cycles with student research subjects as the research method. Research information collection methods in the form of test and non-test procedure methods. At that point, the analysis in this consider used the quantitative method. The results of this study show an increase in student learning results. In the preaction test, the average value was 59.57, while in cycle I the normal value was 72.50. In this way the increment in the normal value of writing poetry from the preaction to cycle I was 12.75 points. In cycle II the normal score came to 81, an increase of 8.5 points from cycle I and 21.25 points from the preaction test. Based on the research comes about, teachers are advised to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach since it is demonstrated to progress student learning results.
