Abstract

Language development in early childhood is a foundations in both mastering academic skills and social skills. Delays in early intervention will increase the risk of children experiencing problems as adults. TDB is a kindergarten student with the age of 5 years 9 months who was identified with expressive language developmental delay. The results of the assessment showed that the development of expressive language of TDB was not in accordance with its chronological age. Intelligence test results show the level of intelligence is in the category above average. The storytelling method with puppet sticks was provided to TDB for seven sessions. In each session, the researcher did storytelling using puppet stick media and then asked TDB to repeat the story that had been told by the researcher. There are seven different stories used in each session. The results of observations on the mean length of utterance show that there is an increase in the mean length of utterance from 2.3 to 3.6. This shows that the storytelling method with puppet sticks is quite effective in increasing the development of expressive language.

Abstract

The growth mindset is essential for learning because students encounter numerous obstacles during the pandemic. However, only a few studies have examined research trends in growth mindset pedagogy. In filling this gap, this study aims to conduct a bibliometric study using the growth mindset pedagogy during the pandemic. Data from 81 Scopus-sourced scholarly articles on growth mindset in education from 2020–2022 was used. VOSviewer qualitatively analyzed the data. Results showed that the research cluster’s growth mindset is diverse and adaptive to learning dynamics, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several research clusters examined instructors, students, and parents’ roles in learning. Another cluster focuses on academic achievement and teacher efforts to improve student performance. The research addresses student issues like depression, academic fatigue, and suicide ideation. Research on a growth mindset in education has grown quantitatively since 2021. Clusters 1, 2, and 4, 5 have the most research on active learning design to improve student academic performance and accomplishment through teachers and other supporting elements. Even though academic fatigue can lead to depression and suicidal ideation, research on academic achievement-related student issues is scarce. In conclusion, a growth mindset can significantly enhance academic performance and solve learning problems.

Abstract

Organic fertilizers are widely used in agriculture as an environmentally friendly alternative to improve soil fertility and crop productivity. However, their safety remains a concern due to the potential contamination by pathogenic bacteria, particularly Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp., which may pose risks to human health. This study aimed to analyze the presence of E. coli and Salmonella sp. in solid organic fertilizer samples based on the requirements of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 7763:2024). Laboratory analyses were conducted at the Balai Standardisasi dan Pelayanan Jasa Industri (BSPJI) Palembang using standard microbiological methods, including presumptive and confirmatory tests, followed by Most Probable Number (MPN) estimation. The results confirmed the presence of E. coli colonies with a characteristic metallic green sheen on Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA), with an estimated concentration of 30 MPN/g, still below the SNI threshold of 100 MPN/g. In contrast, Salmonella sp. was not detected in the samples, as shown by negative growth on Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA), with an estimated value of <3.0 MPN/g. These findings indicate that the tested organic fertilizer samples comply with microbiological safety standards, suggesting that the production and handling processes were adequate to minimize pathogenic contamination. Continuous monitoring and strict adherence to hygienic practices are recommended to ensure the consistent quality and safety of organic fertilizers in agricultural applications.
