Abstract

The objectives of this development research are (1) to determine the validity of the development of environmentally-conscious student worksheets (LKPD); and (2) to assess the attractiveness of these environmentally-conscious LKPDs. These worksheets are used as supplementary teaching materials based on environmental themes for the fifth-grade class at SDN Banyuajuh 5 Bangkalan. This development research employs the 4D model. The subjects of the research are 22 students. Based on expert validation results, the following percentages were obtained: 95% from material experts, 82.5% from language experts, 87.5% from instructional design experts, and 90% from teaching material design experts. The average result of these validations is 88.75% (very valid). The attractiveness of the LKPD was measured through teacher response questionnaires regarding the environmentally-conscious LKPD. The questionnaire results showed that teachers gave a percentage of 95%, placing the LKPD in the category of very attractive teaching materials. Based on the research results, the environmentally-conscious LKPD for the Science and Social Studies (IPAS) course, Chapter 2, Topic C, conducted at SDN Banyuajuh 5 Bangkalan, is deemed valid and attractive for use as supplementary teaching material in the learning process.

Abstract

Parents are responsible for the parenting of their children. The parenting style has a very big effect on child development. However, not all types of parenting styles can improve child cognitive competence. This is due to parents’ limited understanding of parenting styles. This study aims to reveal and analyze the role of parenting styles to support the cognitive development of early childhood. This research uses a qualitative method with a library study approach. Data obtained through the study and analysis of literature related to parenting, such as scientific articles and books. The result of literature reviews show that parenting styles play a very important role in the cognitive development of early childhood. The most appropriate and dominant parenting style in optimizing the cognitive competence of early childhood is the authoritative style. This style has the highest demand and response, and it prioritizes warmth, encouragement, and care about early childhood. The authoritative style is believed to be suitable for the need and characteristics of early childhood cognitive development. Abstract

Abstract

Basic needs in learning are one of the important factors in a person's learning process. These basic needs are physiological, security, social, appreciation, and self-actualization needs. This study aims to identify the types of basic needs of students and how they are implemented in learning at school. The method used is a literature study and by reviewing several journals/articles and books published, this study uses a descriptive research design with a qualitative approach. The results of the study indicate that student needs must be met by a teacher (educator) so that students can learn more, and achieve success in their learning so that teachers can also provide appropriate and beneficial education for all students. Effective implementation of students' basic needs in learning has been shown to increase learning comfort, and shape good student character.

Abstract

Contextual problems are essential in mathematics education as they help students connect abstract concepts to real-life situations. However, observations at UPTD SDN Keleyan 1 revealed that sixth-grade students struggled to solve contextual problems related to unit conversions, with an average pre-cycle score of only 23.85. This study aimed to improve students’ ability to solve contextual mathematical problems through the implementation of the drill method combined with immediate feedback. This classroom action research employed the Kemmis and McTaggart model and was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle included the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The intervention began with a pretest and concluded with a posttest to measure improvements in learning outcomes. The results indicated a significant increase from the pre-cycle to Cycle II. By the end of Cycle II, most students scored above 70, reflecting improved conceptual understanding and procedural accuracy. This strategy proved effective in enhancing learning outcomes, focus, and reflective awareness. Moreover, students with higher levels of learning resilience demonstrated more consistent progress. These findings suggest that the drill method combined with immediate feedback can foster meaningful learning experiences and improve problem-solving skills in contextual mathematical tasks.
