Abstract

The Disclosure Picking up learning model is a model for creating dynamic understudy learning techniques by self-revelation and self-examination, so that results will be gotten that will keep going quite a while in memory and are not handily forgotten by understudies. The reason for this exploration is to find out how results are impacted by utilizing the Disclosure Picking up learning model. Understudies in class VIII at SMP Negeri 17 Medan. The expression "quantitative exploration" alludes to concentrates on that current information in mathematical structure and utilize factual examination. By administering tests to determine the learning outcomes of students, information collection is completed. The trial class and the control class were the two classes used by experts. Considering the assessment shows that there are contrasts in student learning results. The typical post-test consequences of the exploratory and control classes uncover understudy learning results. The control class's average post-test score was 56.57, while the experimental class's average post-test score was 82.27. The delayed consequences of the ttest test show that the tcount regard is 12.237 and the ttable worth is 1.697 so it shows tcount > ttable then Ha is recognized. It is possible to draw the conclusion that students in class VIII at SMP Negeri 17 Medan benefit from the Discovery Learning learning model.

Abstract

Proteolytic bacteria are bacteria that can degrade proteins by producing extracellular protease enzymes. Proteolytic bacteria can be found in mangrove soil. This is because the dry weight of mangrove leaf litter contains 61% protein. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of proteolytic bacterial isolates from mangrove soil in Pandaratan Beach, Sarudik District, Central Tapanuli Regency and to characterize them. This study used a laboratory experimental method which was analyzed descriptively. Soil sampling was carried out at two location points I (sandy) and location II (muddy) which were isolated using SMA media with the streak plate method. Characterization includes macroscopic and microscopic observations as well as biochemical tests. The results of the study found that there were 15 isolates of proteolytic bacteria isolated from the mangrove soil of Pandaratan Beach, Central Tapanuli. The highest activity test of the proteolytic index (IP) was obtained 0.82 mm by the Micrococcus (L1) and 0.09 mm lowest by Brevibacillus (L2). A total of 11 genera of proteolytic bacteria were found, including Curtobacterium (P1 and L7), Bacillus (P2, P4, and P7), Enterococcus (P3), Brevibacillus (P5 and L2), Carnobacterium (P6), Paenibacillus (P8), Micrococcus (L1), Vagococcus (L3), Marinococcus (L4), Halobacillus (L5), Sporosarcina (L6).

Abstract

Gold mining commonly involves the use of mercury, which generates hazardous and toxic mercury-based waste, leading to soil contamination and adverse effects on human health. Bioremediation has been explored as a potential solution to this issue. This study aimed to identify indigenous microbial species with potential as bioremediation agents, assess their ability to influence chemical properties, and evaluate their effectiveness in reducing mercury content. The research was conducted in five stages: isolation of native bacteria, testing the potential of microorganisms, assessing the ability to reduce mercury, conducting soil tests, and identifying bacterial characteristics through microscopic and biochemical analyses. The results revealed three types of indigenous microbes, namely Pseudomonas, Neisseria, and Klebsiella bacteria, with the highest potential as bioremediation agents. These bacterial isolates were found to enhance the availability of phosphorus in the soil, maintain soil pH, but had no effect on total soil nitrogen. Furthermore, the bacterial isolates exhibited the ability to reduce mercury content after treatment with NA isolates.

Abstract

Terasi or belacan is an example of a fermented product from shrimp that involves lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria are a group of gram-positive bacteria that have the ability to produce antagonistic molecules that can be used as antibacterial probiotics and preservatives. This study was conducted to determine the presence of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) which might detect shrimp paste in Tanjungbalai and to the antibacterial activity. This study uses descriptive data analysis, which begins with isolation and characterization by carrying out gram staining and biochemical tests and then continuing with a probiotic potency test which includes a test to acidity (pH) and a test of phatogenic antibacterial activity. Isolations and characterization of LAB produced 6 isolates in the form of coccus, the edges of the colony were whole or flat, the elevation was flat or milky white in color. Meanwhile, the cell morpholgy of 6 LAB isolates was in the form of bacilli, gram positive and monobacillary arrangement. Characterization based on biochemical tests found isolates belonging to the genus Pediococcus, Weisella and Lactobacillus. The results of probiotic tests of 6 isolates were expressed with gastric acid conditions (pH 2.5-3) and had phatogenic antibacterial activity which was marked by the fomation of an inhibition against 2 Escherichia coli test bacteria with the largest inhibition zone size being 8.95 mm while Staphylococcus aureus with the largest inhibition zone size was 12.6 mm. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that LAB from Tanjungbalai shrimp paste has potential as a probiotic because the six isolates obtained met the requirements of bacteria as probiotics, namely being able to withstand acidic conditions and having phatogenic antibacterial activity.
