Abstract

Sea cucumbers are a delicious food that is favored by the Chinese community and holds high economic value in the market. They are also traded in dried or preserved forms. According to the Fisheries and Marine Database study, various economically valuable species of sea cucumbers have been identified in the West Southeast Maluku Regency, such as Holothuria scrabra, Holothuria fuscogilva, Holothuria edulis, Telenota ananas, Telenota anax, and Tripeneustes gratilla. This research aims to examine the marketing channels and the factors influencing the production of sea cucumber commodities. The results of the study indicate that: 1) the marketing channel for sea cucumber commodities in Tanimbar Selatan District operates as a one-level marketing system. The marketing functions performed by various marketing entities are as follows: producers carry out six marketing functions, local collectors perform all eight marketing functions, and processing enterprises undertake seven marketing functions. The marketing map illustrates that the distribution of sea cucumber commodities occurs in Tanimbar Selatan, involving producers and local collectors, and extends to inter-provincial regions involving local traders and processing enterprises. 2) the total marketing cost for sea cucumber commodities is IDR 22.860,546 for a single marketing period. The marketing entity incurring the highest cost is local collectors (73.51%), followed by consumers (25.83%), and producers (0.65%). Moreover, the marketing margin for sea cucumbers is IDR 32.164/kg. From this margin and the costs incurred, the average profit at the producer level is IDR 214.397/kg, while the average profit at the local collector level is IDR 29.241/kg. 3) simultaneously, the factors of the fishing season, education, price, and transportation costs significantly impact the production volume of sea cucumbers. However, when analyzed separately, only the fishing season factor significantly affects the production volume, while the other three factors do not have a substantial impact.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

In coastal areas there are 4 types of ecosystems which have an important role in the habitat of various biota in coastal areas, namely coral reef ecosystems, coastal ecosystems, seagrass ecosystems and mangrove ecosystems. Four ecosystems, the seagrass ecosystem is the least known. This is due to a lack of attention and lack of public knowledge of the seagrass ecosystem, so that the seagrass ecosystem is often misinterpreted as an environment that is useless and does not provide benefits to humans. Seagrass as a shallow marine ecosystem has an important role in supporting the life and development of species in shallow seas, namely as a primary producer, habitat for biota and trapping sediment and nutrients in the waters. One of the seagrass ecosystem locations that has high utilization pressure by people living in coastal areas is Teluk Ambon Dalam. The sustainability of the Teluk Ambon Dalam coastal ecosystem is threatened by physical destruction such as dredging of beach sand and sedimentation due to weak land management and pollution. This research obtained an economic valuation of seagrass degradation in Tanjung Tiram, Poka Village. This research aims to analyze the perceptions of coastal communities in Poka Village regarding seagrass degradation and estimate the value of seagrass degradation in Poka Village, Ambon, using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) approach. Data analysis methods include perception analysis and willingness to pay analysis with CVM. The results show that the coastal communities of Tanjung Tiram, Poka Village's perception of seagrass degradation is known or positive, proven by the average index value of 3.45. The total value of the willingness to pay the coastal community of Tanjung Tiram, Poka Village, for seagrass rehabilitation is IDR 903,314.24/month, showing the proxy/suspected or estimated value of seagrass degradation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze consumer satisfaction levels based on a set of service attributes that reflect both product quality and service delivery processes. A total of 30 respondents were selected as the sample using accidental sampling. The respondent characteristics analyzed included gender and age, providing a demographic overview that may influence perceptions of service quality and the resulting satisfaction. Consumer satisfaction was measured using seven verified attributes, namely product quality, price, service, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Descriptive analysis results indicate that most respondents fall into the high-satisfaction category, with a CSI score of 0.80, particularly for product quality, competitive pricing, and service performance. These findings align with previous studies stating that service quality dimensions and value for money are key determinants of satisfaction, loyalty, and repurchase intention. The study provides practical implications for business managers to enhance the consistency of service quality and maintain the attributes that strongly influence consumer satisfaction. Moreover, the findings can serve as a reference for developing service improvement strategies that are more oriented toward consumer needs and preferences
