Abstract

The Indonesian government issued a national policy of large-scale social restrictions in 2020 to 2021. At the same time, there was an increase in internet users in Indonesia which led to an increase in the use of the Tiktok mobile application. Both incidents made halal frozen food producers in Bogor market their products using mobile applications. Until now, there has been no research that calculates the financial feasibility of marketing halal frozen food using mobile applications. This study aims to determine the financial feasibility of marketing halal frozen food produced by PT XYZ  using the TikTok mobile application. The financial feasibility analysis in this study uses a quantitative method by calculating income and assessing investment feasibility based on cash flow in the form of an R/C ratio. Researchers conducted observations and interviews as data collection techniques. The research location and respondents were selected purposively. The types of research data used are primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study, the net profit received by the company increased by IDR 118,714,448 with an R/C ratio of 2.52, meaning that every cost incurred of IDR 1 will get an income of IDR 2.52. From the explanation above, the results of this study prove that marketing of halal frozen food at PT XYZ Bogor using mobile applications is feasible and profitable. The implication of this study is to recommend halal frozen food producers in countries with increasing internet usage trends to market using mobile applications in order to obtain maximum profit.

Abstract

Japan’s aging society, driven by declining birth rates, urbanization, and sociocultural factors, has necessitated increased labor migration from countries such as Indonesia, which now accounts for over 149,000 residents (2023) and 430,000 annual tourists (2023). This demographic shift has amplified the demand for halal products among Indonesia’s Muslim majority, yet Japan lacks formal halal regulations, relying instead on third-party certifications such as the Japan Halal Association (est. 2010). To address this gap, the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tokyo and Keluarga Masyarakat Islam Indonesia or Indonesian Muslims Association (KMII) Japan initiated the establishment of a community-based halal certification institution for Indonesian Muslims in Japan to address this gap. This study aimed to determine the establishment of the Halal International Trust Organization (HITO) in Japan. The methodology of this study was descriptive qualitative. The data collection process was conducted through interviews to obtain data and observations. This study was conducted in Tokyo. The informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The informants involved in the study were the management of KMII, HITO, and officials at KBRI Tokyo. HITO operates under KMII Japan Ippan Shadan Hojin (a legally recognized non-profit). HITO’s five functions include setting locally adapted halal standards, auditing products, training auditors, and fostering socioeconomic integration. Its organizational structure features a supervisory board, advisory council, and daily management team supported by 31 trained assistants across nine prefectures. The certification process involves online submissions, facilitator validation, approval of ‘fatwa’ council, and digital certificate issuance, prioritizing affordability for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the supporting sectors of the Indonesian economy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Horticulture is one of the agricultural sub-sectors that contributes significantly to the national economy. Biopharmaceutical plants are part of the horticulture sub-sector and are used as raw materials for health products. Ginger, turmeric, galangal, kencur, and temulawak are five biopharmaceutical plants of the rhizome group that can be used as herbal medicines to anticipate some symptoms of Covid-19. One of the cultivators of these five biopharmaceutical plants is Taman Sringganis. The problem faced is that the cultivation of medicinal plants in the rhizome group is not optimal due to the many types of medicinal plants being cultivated. The financial feasibility of cultivation must be known To optimize the cultivation of rhizome plants. This research was conducted to determine the feasibility of cultivating medicinal plants in the rhizome group. As a result, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the cultivation of Taman Sringganis rhizomes was still feasible. Based on the calculation results of the four investment feasibility criteria, it is known that the Net Present Value (NPV) is positive or more than equal to zero, namely Rp. 258,213,256, the Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C Ratio) is more than one, namely 1.79, the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is more than the predetermined social interest rate (10.1%), namely 36% and Payback Period (PP) is faster than the business age (5 years) which is 3 years 4 months. Rhizome, medicinal plant cultivation, supports the 8th SDGs.
