Abstract

Fish eggs semah in cultivating on average only hatch of 67%, so still far stated well and need to do a proper egg incubation technique to increase the degree of hatching. Efforts are being made at other hatcheries as Catfish is using the technique of egg incubation method of stagnant water and MacDonald jars, but this system still has flaws, that can lead to poor water quality (stagnant water) and the presence of abnormal larvae (Mac Donald jars). In this study, the technique of egg incubation is carried out using a multilevel system tray modification. The results of the use of multilevel system tray in Aquarium shows very different real power against egg hatch (HR) fish semah, whereas against an increase in the degree of abnormality of fish larvae semah influence is relatively the same.The use of 3-floor tray (A3), can enhance degrees most high 89.19% hatching, larval fish and the degree of abnormality 1.63%.Key words : System tray multilevel, tetas power eggs (HR), the degree of abnormality, Tor douronensis

Abstract

Buah semangka merah (Citrullus vulgaris rubrum) dan buah semangka kuning (Citrullus vulgaris flavum) merupakan tanaman obat yang berkhasiat sebagai peluruh air seni dan digunakan untuk melarutkan batu ginjal. Telah dilakukan pengujian potensi sari buah semangka merah dan sari buah semangka kuning sebagai peluruh batu ginjal kalsium oksalat secara in vitro. Pengujian dilakukan dengan merendam batu ginjal kalsium oksalat dan menganalisis kadar kalium serta kalsium oksalat yang larut secara Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sari buah semangka merah dan sari buah semangka kuning dapat melarutkan batu ginjal kalsium oksalat. Kelarutan batu ginjal kalsium oksalat tertinggi dalam sari buah semangka kuning pada konsentrasi 100% sebesar 16,25 x 10-5 mol/L sedangkan pada sari buah semangka merah pada konsentrasi 100% sebesar 10,83 x 10-5 mol/L. Kadar kalium diduga menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi kelarutan batu ginjal kalsium oksalat. Kandungan kalium semangka kuning sebesar 0,02454% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dalam semangka merah sebesar 0,02093%.Kata kunci : Semangka merah (Citrullus vulgaris rubrum), Semangka kuning (Citrullus vulgaris flavum), Kalsium oksalat, Batu ginjal

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of a combination of extracts of Noni leaves (Morinda citrifolia L) and fruit kandis (Garcinia cowa Roxb) on body weight of male rats induced by high- fat calories food Test animals were used 25 rats male Sprague Dawley strain age of 2 months with body weight 200 g. White mice were divided into 5 groups of 4 rats each. The treatment committed agains an obesity rats. The treatment group consisted of rats doses of 1 (8,75mg/kgBB noni leaves ekstract and sour fruit kandis 7mg/kgBB), dose II (4,75 mg/kgBB noni leaves ekstract and sour fruit kandis 3,5mg/kgBB), dose III (17,5 mg/kgBB noni leaves ekstract and sour fruit kandis 14mg/kgBB), the positive control group were given Orlistat and negative group were only given food to eat and drink. The observed parameters include weight loss, abdominal width, body length, skin fold, body mass indeks. The results showed that noni leaf extract and fruit kandis can be used as a weight loss with the most effective dose is 17,5 mg /kg BB noni leaf + 14 mg/kg BB fruit kandis with the most effective treatment is 14 days.Key words : Noni Leaf and fruit kandis, Feeding a High-Fat Calories, Obesity Parameters, Rats male Sprague Dawley.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the quality of diluent which is stored at room temperature and temperature of preservation to survival of spermatozoa, to know the temperature of cement storage to survival of spermatozoa and to know the type of cement diluent material to survival of spermatozoa. The study used local sheep cement. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RAK) Factorial pattern with 2 treatment of storage temperature ie S1 = room temperature; S2 = preservation temperature; and with 4 diluent treatment: P1 = yolk citrate; P2 = skim milk; P3 = liquid milk; P4 = tris of soybeans. The observed variables were the macroscopic and microscopic cement quality prior to dilution, the progressive movement of sperm from each diluent and the progressive movement of sperm at each storage temperature. The administration of yolk citrate diluents affects the survival of spermatozoa compared with other diluents (P 0.05). The preservation temperature gives optimum results in suppressing the rate of decline in survival of spermatozoa (P 0.05). Giving yolk citrate stored at a preservation temperature is apparent in maintaining the survival of spermatozoa with 55% motility for three days.Keywords: survival, spermatozoa, cement diluents, storage temperature

Abstract

The aims of study was determine the effect of 70% and 96% ethanolic extracted of estrogenic herb basil on increasing or decreasing the level of uric acid in female rats. The animals used were 24 rats that were divided into six groups which consist of four animals each. Group I was animal that were given at a dose 0,7g/200g BW of 70% ethanolic extracted basil. Group II was the same concentration of basil extract at a dose 0,8g/200g BW. Group III was also the concentration of basil extract at a dose 0,9g/200g BW. Group IV was animals that were given at a dose 0,7g/200g BW of 96% ethanolic extracted basil. Group V was the same concentration of basil extract at a dose 0,8g/200g BW. Group VI was also the concentration of basil extract at a dose 0,9g/200g BW. The result showed that the ethanol extract of the basil herb had no significantly affected uric acid, there was even a tendency to decrease lower uric acid level after given during 15 days.Key words : Uric Acid, Estrogenic, Herb Basil

Abstract

At the end of their fertile phase, female under go menopause state where ovaries cease to produce egg cells permanently, causing follicle to stop producing estrogen. The degradation of estrogen concentration in blood has significant undersirable influences on the structure and function of other organs. Some plants believed to have potential estrogenic effect based on several research are herb basil (Ocimum americanum L.) and fennel fruit (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.). This research armed to find out the estrogenic potency and synergic or antagonictic effect of 70% ethanol extract of herb basil and fennel fruit on pre-menopause female rats. Twenty pre-menopause female rats are divide into 5 groups and tested with whitten effect method. Group I as positive control is given peroral ethynil estradiol with 9x10-3g/200g  BB, group II as negative control is given peroral CMC-Na 0,5%, group III is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of basil herb 0,35g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,0725g/200g BB, group IV is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,35g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,145g/200g BB and group V is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,7g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,0725g//200g BB. The result shows that administration of 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,7g/200g BB and fennel 0,0725g/200g BB gave the most significant effect as compared negative control and better than positive control in the improvement of estrous cycle length, the vascularisation of ovarium and uterus, and the increase in ovarium and uterus weight in female rats. Key words : Estrogenic potential, Herb basil, Fennel fruit, Pre-menopause

Abstract

Menopause is a condition in which menstrual cycles stalled due to gland gonadotropin no longer carry out their duties in work affecting the ovaries to produce estrogen. Will halt production of estrogen can lead to osteoporosis (bone loss), kolesterolemia and heart disease. Basil herbs contain chemicals suspected of having estrogenic activity. This study aims to determine the optimum dose estrogenic activity and n-hexane extractof herbs basil (Ocimum americanum L.). animal testing is used 25 female rats were divided into 5 treatment groups. The result showed that all three doses of n-hexane extract of basil herbs have estrogenic activity. The average increase in estrous cycle in groups III, IV and V was 143 hours, 144,6 hours, and 148,6 hours, while the average of scoring against ovarian and uterine vascularitation in group III, IV and V are 2,2; 2 and 2,4. In weighing the ovaries and uterus weights on average in groups III, IV and V are 1,36 g, 1,72 g and 1,7 g. From the above result it can be oncluded that n-hexane extracts of basil herb can cause estrogenic activity with an effective dose of 0,2 g/200g BW. Key words: Basil (Ocimum americanum L.), estrogen wung, n-Heksan
