Abstract

Background: The high rate of maternal and infant mortality in Indonesia in the past year can be influenced by the habits of the community who prefer Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) in the childbirth. In fact, TBAs are not health profession and do not have competency standards to assist with childbirth, thus increasing the risk of maternal and infant mortality. This article aimed to determine the influence of culture on the community’s habit of choosing TBAsor official village midwives (OVMs)in childbirth process in remote areas.Methods: A cross-sectional study was used. The respondents were mothers who gave birth in the last one year in one remote sub-district in Aceh. TBAs and official village midwiveswereobserved and indepth interviews were also conducted.Resultsand Discussions:The results of this study showed community attitudes about cultural influences during pregnancy, such as TBAs-assisted delivery is a cultural belief that must be followed.Hence, factors that influence the choice of mothers in using OVMs or TBAs:cultural beliefs and norms, and the role of the cultural leaders in making decisions. Conclusions: Culture plays an important role in influencing people who live in remote areas to choose TBAs rather than the OVMs.

Abstract

At the end of their fertile phase, female under go menopause state where ovaries cease to produce egg cells permanently, causing follicle to stop producing estrogen. The degradation of estrogen concentration in blood has significant undersirable influences on the structure and function of other organs. Some plants believed to have potential estrogenic effect based on several research are herb basil (Ocimum americanum L.) and fennel fruit (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.). This research armed to find out the estrogenic potency and synergic or antagonictic effect of 70% ethanol extract of herb basil and fennel fruit on pre-menopause female rats. Twenty pre-menopause female rats are divide into 5 groups and tested with whitten effect method. Group I as positive control is given peroral ethynil estradiol with 9x10-3g/200g BB, group II as negative control is given peroral CMC-Na 0,5%, group III is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of basil herb 0,35g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,0725g/200g BB, group IV is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,35g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,145g/200g BB and group V is given peroral 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,7g/200g BB and fennel fruit 0,0725g//200g BB. The result shows that administration of 70% ethanol extract of herb basil 0,7g/200g BB and fennel 0,0725g/200g BB gave the most significant effect as compared negative control and better than positive control in the improvement of estrous cycle length, the vascularisation of ovarium and uterus, and the increase in ovarium and uterus weight in female rats.Key words : Estrogenic potential, Herb basil, Fennel fruit, Pre-menopause

Abstract

Vaginal discharge often occurs in women, including teenagers. Teenagers who do not maintain the cleanliness of the genital area are at risk of experiencing genital problems such as vaginal discharge. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of personal genital hygiene with the incidence of vaginal discharge in female students of Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Ulul Albab Koto Baru, Dharmasraya Regency. While the method used in this research is using the analytical survey method and using cross-sectional. The sampling method is using a total sampling of 44 respondents. The results obtained using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.034 <0.05. There is a significant relationship between genital personal hygiene and the incidence of vaginal discharge.

Abstract

Kualitas lingkungan merupakan salah satu parameter dalam pengelolaan pelabuhan perikanan berwawasan lingkungan di mana salah satu indikatornya adalah adanya ruang terbuka hijau. Penanaman pohon di lingkungan PPS Kendari merupakan kegiatan yang ditujukan terutama untuk perluasan ruang terbuka hijau dan sebagai bagian dari kampanye peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan bagi seluruh pengguna fasilitas pelabuhan. Jenis-jenis pohon yang ditanam memiliki berbagai fungsi, antara lain sebagai penjerap debu dan penyimpan Karbon, sekaligus juga dapat digunakan sebagai material atau bahan baku bagi berbagai keperluan. Peran serta dari berbagai pihak diharapkan dapat terus terjalin sehingga PPS Kendari sebagai salah satu pelabuhan perikanan berwawasan lingkungan di Indonesia dapat terwujud dengan baik.

Abstract

Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya pada materi menulis karangan deskripsi masih sangat rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi melalui teknik kata kunci berbantu media objek langsung pada murid kelas III SD Unismuh Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Class Action Reaserch) yang terdiri dari dua siklus dimana setiap siklus dilaksanakan sebanyak empat kali pertemuan. Fokus penelitian ini adalah 1) Keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi dan 2) Penggunaan teknik kata kunci berbantu media objek langsung di kelas III SD Unismuh Makassar. Prosedur penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah murid kelas III yang berjumlah 15 orang murid. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu terjadinya peningkatan aktivitas belajar murid dari siklus I ke siklus II, hasil belajar murid mengalami peningkatan yaitu perolehan rata-rata skor hasil belajar murid pada siklus I 63,7 meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 96. Ketuntasan belajar menulis karangan deskripsi murid juga mengalami peningkatan, dimana pada siklus I, dari 5 (33%) murid mencapai ketuntasan belajar, sedangkan pada siklus II sebanyak 15 (100%) murid mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan ketuntasan belajar klasikal tercapai. Hal ini berarti ketuntasan belajar pada siklus II tercapai secara klasikal karena jumlah murid yang tuntas lebih dari 80%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut diatas, dapat disimpulkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi kelas III SD Unismuh Makassar melalui penerapan teknik kata kunci berbantu media objek langsung mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh Pendekatan Sains, Teknologi, Teknik, dan Matematika terhadap Hasil Belajar Fisika Siswa Tahap F SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quasi-Experimental dengan desain kelompok post-test saja. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Tahap F pindah kelas Fisika 3 dan Fisika 4 SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan yang terdiri dari 51 yang terdiri dari 2 kelas. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes akhir berupa esai, lembar observasi siswa selama pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil yang diperoleh berada pada domain kognitif kelas eksperimen rata-rata 74,28 dan kontrol 73,95. Hasil penilaian pada ranah afektif siswa kelas eksperimen selama proses pembelajaran rata-rata 62,8 3 dan kontrol 52,71. Selanjutnya, pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney yang diperoleh Z_count = 1,334 <Z_table = 1,96 H_0 diterima, sehingga hipotesis penelitian ditolak. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah tidak ada pengaruh Pendekatan Sains, Teknologi, Teknik, dan Matematika terhadap Hasil Belajar Fisika Siswa Tahap F SMAN 1 Koto XI Tarusan. Abstract

Spore trapping Culture has the advantage of producing AMF. inoculum production and higher A.M.F. colonization efficiency. This research aims to determine suitable hostnames for AMF trapping. This research was conducted at the Plastic House of the Indonesian Mycorrhizal Association (AMI.) Southeast Sulawesi Branch, UHO Old Campus, and the UHO. Forestry and Environmental Science Laboratory Unit lasted 3 months from May – June 2023. This research used a factorial, completely randomized design method with two factors: the first factor is a type of location, including L10 LM10, and the second factor is the type of host plant, including Pueraria javanica and Sorhum bicolar. The results showed that the interaction of the host plant and location had no significant effect on the number of spores and AMF colonization. Pueraria Javanica significantly increased the number of spores for both L10 and LM10, with an average number of spores of 84. Seven dominant types of A.M.F. from the Glomeraceae family were found

Abstract

Post-asphalt mining land is generally damaged and infertile; therefore, restoration efforts are necessary. The use of native Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) can improve plant growth and accelerate the success of restoration. This research aimed to elucidate the effect of native AMF inoculation on the growth of Vitex cofassus seedlings in greenhouse conditions. In this study, a completely randomized design was implemented with seven treatments, i.e., uninoculated (control), Racocetra crispi, Glomus intraradices, Glomus sp., Glomus sp-LW10, Glomus sp.-SW10 and Mycofer IPB (commercial AMF). The percentage of AMF colonization, plant growth, dry weight as well as P and Ca uptakes were measured after 3 months of planting. The results showed that AMF inoculation significantly increased the percentage of colonization, growth, and dry weight of shoots and total plants of V. cofassus. Mycorrhizal Inoculation Effect (MIE) ranged between 92.2% and 94.6%. Native and commercial AMF inoculation increased P and Ca uptakes in the roots and shoots of V. cofassus. There is a promising future for native AMF to be developed into a biofertilizer for restoring post-asphalt mining land in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to increase the awareness and capacity of the community in Padang Bak Jok Village, Tangan-Tangan District, Southwest Aceh Regency in making feed for catfish farming through education and training on the process of making and feeding sinking feed. The implementation method includes material presentation and field practice. The results showed an increase in the community's awareness and ability to calculate the amount of feed and feed-making/feeding techniques. This activity also encouraged the community to start a fish farming business with facilitation support from the Village Government and BUMG (Village-Owned Enterprises).

Abstract

Vertical space optimization through a multi-canopy system can potentially increase rice production. This research aims to evaluate the agronomic performance, light interception, and production of rice plants cultivated with a multi-canopy system. This research was conducted at the Sawah Baru Experimental Farm, IPB University. Rice varieties used two common height plants (“Inpari 30” and “Inpari 32”) and the taller plants (“IPB 9G”). This research consisting of nine treatment combinations of cultivation system: mono-variety (“Inpari 30”, “Inpari 32”, and “IPB 9G”), combination of two varieties in one hill multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”), inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”), and inter-variety two-insertion multi-canopy (“Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G”). The results showed morphological and physiological performance as good in a multi-canopy system (inter-variety one insertion) on the variables of the plant height, number of panicles per clump, panicle length, number of grains per hill, weight of grains per hill, photosynthetic rate and land equivalent ratio (LER). The percentage of light interception in the multi-canopy system decreased by 19.13-61.54%. The inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy with the “Inpari 30”-“IPB 9G” combination increases yield potential by 10.18%, and the “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G” combination increases by 13.81% compared to the mono-variety. The combination of the “Inpari 30”- “IPB 9G” and “Inpari 32”-“IPB 9G” variety in an inter-variety one-insertion multi-canopy system produces an LER value of 1.75 and 1.64; this shows that the inter-variety one insertion multi-canopy system is promising to increase rice production.
