Abstract

Character building is an urgent need for Indonesia, specifically in improving the characters of current youth. Character education in the Islamic perspective equate as moral. As Holy Qur'an being the foundation of Islam in all areas of life including on the question of morality; God in His Word, which means "And truly you are (Muhammad) of noble character." Therefore it may also be concluded that Prophet Muhammad, was sent to earth no other but to meliorate the human kind. Thus, the character education in the Islamic perspective is necessary, especially in Islamic educational institutions. Hence, from a variety of issues related to morality, the Islamic educational institutions are ideally capable of implementing the character education within perspective of Islam in the form of honesty, a sense of responsibility, intelligence improvement, with attention to health and hygiene, as well as awareness and creativity.

Abstract

This article aims to review the teaching of Islamic religious education with a contextual approach. Learning Islamic education sometimes is not fun for the students, because learning methods monotonous and unpleasant. Then one model of learning is the learning of Islamic religious education with a contextual approach. Contextual learning methods can offer a new concept of Islamic religious education learning fun. Islamic religious education lesson with a contextual approach involves seven main components of effective learning: constructivism, inquiry, questioning, learning community, and reflection. Islamic religious education lesson with a contextual approach to its application in everyday life can be done through various methods, namely: making meaningful connections, doing significant, self-regulated learning, collaborating, critical and creative thinking.

Abstract

Islam came to Indonesia since the seventh century AD has a major influence on the transformation of the local culture. From cultures that were previously heavily influenced by Hinduism is primarily based on two major books from India, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata to the new culture that is influenced by Islamic values. One form of cultural transformation in the field of Javanese literature is the birth of the tembang macapat (song of macapat). Tembang macapat is a form of transformation from Javanese literature of the form kakawin literary dan kidung (ancient Javanese song) became a form of Java new song (gending). During its development, macapat song contains a lot of Islamic values so utilized by teachers, preachers, religious scholars and Ulama’ to the means of education and transformation of Islamic values. Islam datang ke Indonesia sejak abad ke tujuh Masehi memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap transformasi budaya setempat. Dari kebudayaan yang sebelumnya banyak dipengaruhi oleh agama Hindu terutama didasarkan pada dua karya besar dari India yaitu Ramayana dan Mahabharata menuju kepada kebudayaan baru yang dipengaruhi oleh nilai-nilai Islam. Salah satu bentuk transformasi kebudayaan dalam  bidang sastra Jawa adalah lahirnya tembang macapat. Tembang macapat merupakan bentuk transformasi sastra Jawa dari bentuk kakawin dan kidung menjadi sastra puisi yang berupa lagu/gending. Dalam perkembangannya, tembang macapat banyak mengandung nilai-nilai Islam sehingga dimanfaatkan oleh para guru, mubaligh, kyai maupun ulama’ untuk sarana pendidikan dan dakwah nilai-nilai Islam.

Abstract

Actually there are some people expect the position and role of independent standing kyai do not participate in practical political activities, not contaminated by frenzied and hot politics. The presence of kyai is expected to provide coolness and peace and cool the heat of political flow. Besides, it is also a force of politics and government life in Indonesia. This paper describes the variations and typology of kyai, and the relationship between religion and politics. Kyai uamh join the flow of politics is always suspected by groups that are not in line with it. The independent kyai that is not contaminated by politics is always waiting for the community. The kyai's decision to engage in politics or not is basically meant to build a just and prosperous community. Sebenarnya ada sebagian masyarakat mengharapkan posisi dan peran kyai berdiri independen tidak ikut dalam kegiatan politik praktis, tidak terkontaminasi oleh hingar-bingar dan panasnya perpolitikan. Kehadiran kyai ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kesejukan dan kedamaian serta mendinginkan panasnya arus politik. Selain itu juga menjadi force kehidupan perpolitikan dan pemerintahan di Indonesia. Tulisan ini menjabarkan mengenai variasi dan tipologi kyai, serta hubungan antara agama dan politik. Kyai uamh ikut arus politik selalu dicurigai oleh kelompok yang tidak sejalan dengannya. Adapun kyai independen yang tidak terkontaminasi politik selalu dinantikan masyarakat. Keputusan kyai untuk terlibat politik atau tidak pada dasarnya dimaksudkan untuk membangun umat yang adil dan makmur.
