Abstract

This study aims to describe the values of character education in the English textbooks of Class 11 Senior High School. The data in this study are in the form of texts containing the value of character education. The data source of this research is the class XI senior high school English books curriculum 2013. There are two data collection techniques used in this study, namely the reading technique and the note-taking technique. Then, the data analysis technique in this study went through three stages, namely (1) reduction, (2) presentation, and (3) drawing conclusions. In addition, the data validity checking technique was carried out, namely discussions with experts in assessing the results of data analysis so that all findings in this study can be justified. The results of this study found that there are 14 values of character education, namely the values of religious, honest, disciplined, diligent, creative, independent, nationalism, appreciation, communicative, peace-loving, intellectual, beauty, sympathy, and loyal character values which are implemented through text sentences and images. It can be concluded that the 11th-grade high school English textbook only has 14-character education values. There are 4 values that are not found in the textbook, which include the values of tolerance, curiosity, democracy, and love for the homeland.

Abstract

bertujuan mendeskripsikan vitalitas dan subordinasi bahasa daerah di Provinsi Maluku. Penelitian ini ialah kualitatif dengan jenis data berupa teks, tuturan verbal, dan data angket. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelusuran pustaka, interviu, dan pengisian angket sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Subjek penelitian ini penutur bahasa daerah di Maluku dari 9 Kabupaten/kota, yaitu Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat, Seram Bagian Timur, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah, Kota Ambon, Kota Tual, Kabupaten Buru Selatan, Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara, Maluku Barat Daya, dan Kabupaten Buru. Jumlah responden 75 orang, perempuan 63 dan 12 laki-laki dengan rentang usia <25 tahun, 25–40 tahun, dan >40 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan ada 14 bahasa daerah yang mengalami kemunduran, ada 13 bahasa sangat terancam, ada 9 bahasa terancam punah, dan bahasa daerah yang punah ada 4. Berdasarkan 9 indikator vitalitas bahasa disimpulkan bahwa bahasa daerah mengalami ancaman kepunahan disebabkan jumlah penutur bahasa daerah mengalami penurunan, loyalitas penutur bahasa daerah yang rendah, dan penggunaan bahasa melayu Ambon dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penggunaan bahasa melayu Ambon oleh penutur bahasa daerah di Maluku menunjukkan subordinasi dan dominasi bahasa melayu Ambon atas bahasa daerah.

The data source in this research is the English textbook for grade 7 and grade 8 of the Merdeka Curriculum. There are two data collection techniques used in this research, namely reading techniques and note-taking techniques. Apart from that, data validity checking techniques were also carried out, namely discussions with experts in assessing the results of data analysis so that all findings in this research could be accounted for. Abstract

Padlet serves as a digital board that can be used for writing paragraphs. The purpose of this research is to describe the phenomenon of digitalization in writing instruction using Padlet in university classes. This research is qualitative and adopts a case study approach. The data sources for this study are teachers and students from the Department of Religious Sociology at IAIN Ambon. The types of data in this research include verbal discourse and photo documentation of activities. The research instruments used are documentation guidelines, observation guidelines, and interview guidelines. The results of this research found that the implementation of digitalized paragraph writing instruction using Padlet consists of three stages: preparation, development, and conclusion. The preparation stage includes the analysis of needs, determining course objectives, content selection, material development, and technology selection. The development stage involves guidelines and instructions, Padlet media usage, writing and collaboration, discussions, and monitoring and support. The conclusion stage includes reflection, feedback, final evaluation, and closure.
