Abstract

The use of engines that motorized the world based on fossil fuel sources has led to many problems, such as air pollution, energy security, global warming, and climate change. To prevent further damage reducing the application of fossil fuel as a source of the motor is crucial. Hence, utilizing an electric motor could be the solution to reduce the application of motors based on fossil fuel. Among the number of electric motors, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSMS) is becoming more popular due to their efficiency. However, the challenge here is how to design the controller of PSMS, especially the speed controller. Hence, this paper proposed a design of a speed controller of PSMS using a PI controller. The hybrid differential evolution algorithm-particle swarm optimization (DEA-PSO) is used to optimize the PI controller for better performance. From the simulation result, it is found that the proposed method can enhance the performance of PSMS.

Abstract

Integration of photovoltaic (PV) based power plant have been increased significantly over the years. The integration of this devices is ranging on the small-scale capacity such as in distribution system and large-scale capacity such as in transmission system. Although, PV generation could provide sustainable and clean energy to the grid, they could also bring new challenge on the system stability. One of the stabilities of power system that can be affected by integration of this devices is small signal stability. Hence, it is important to capture the dynamic model of PV generation. This paper is on investigation of dynamic model of PV generation for small signal stability analysis. The simulation is carried out in MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. From the simulation results, it is found that by capturing the dynamic model of PV generation, the modes of the PV generation can be captured.

Abstract

Increasing the capacity of health cadres in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas is a strategic step in supporting digital health transformation in Indonesia. Health cadres as the frontline in health services have an important role in improving access and quality of services in hard-to-reach areas. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of health cadres about the benefits of digital health, especially telehealth. Efforts to increase knowledge are carried out through organizing workshops for health cadres related to digital health transformation and telehealth utilization as well as socialization and education activities related to the adaptation of digital health technology. Changes in knowledge levels were measured using questionnaires before and after the activity. The targets of the activity amounted to 31 health cadres. The results of the analysis showed an average level of positive change in knowledge with an increase in the knowledge of health cadres (93,5%) in workshop activities and (100%) in socialization and education activities. The results of this activity provide provisions for health cadres to increase their role in utilizing digital health with the knowledge that has been obtained during community service activities. In addition, through this community service activity it is also a reference for policy makers in equalizing digital health transformation and achieving health development targets.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on implementing an automatic nutrient control system called Airoponik (Airlangga Robot Hydroponic) for hydroponic farmer groups in Panderejo hamlet, Gempol, East Java. The system was developed to address the challenges in maintaining precise nutrient concentrations in hydroponic systems, which is crucial for optimal plant growth. The Airoponik prototype integrates Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) sensors, temperature sensors, and an automated control system based on ESP32 microcontroller, enabling automatic adjustment of nutrient levels within a ±5% tolerance range. The implementation process included prototype development, laboratory testing, and technology dissemination to the community. Testing results demonstrated successful nutrient control at various target levels (400, 700, and 1000 ppm). In addition to the functionality of the Airoponik system, its compact, suitcase-style design facilitates easy installation and adjustment of the device in space-constrained environments. To ensure effectiveness, observations revealed that the aeroponic system required only 43% of the maintenance time compared to conventional systems. The community response was highly positive, with 88% of participants expressing interest in adopting the technology, and achieving dissemination impact scores of 4.2/5.0. The integration with existing solar-powered hydroponic systems proved successful, providing a sustainable solution for automated nutrient management without dependence on grid electricity.

Abstract

Water is an important element in the life of living creatures, both for consumption and other purposes. Therefore clean water is crucial for human health and environmental protection. To determine the quality of water, whether it is safe for consumption or not, testing in a laboratory is required by testing the chemical elements and physical elements. This is because there are differences in determining whether water is suitable for use or not, the depth of the water also influences the differences in water quality, therefore we need the process of taking the water to be tested. Currently this process is carried out manually using manned vessels, this causes inefficiencies if carried out continuously. To overcome this problem, we need a tool that can collect water automatically. Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) is a vehicle that can walk on the surface of the water without passengers and can run manually using a Radio Control (RC) transmitter or automatically using the Pixhawk autopilot and Global Positioning System (GPS) as a localization system. This research aims to design an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) that can take water samples automatically using the Pixhawk autopilot at a certain point and at a certain depth.
