Abstract

After writing and reading activities, al-Qur'an memorization is an important part of Islamic Religious Education learning in schools. Memorizing selected short letters in school, both in elementary and secondary schools, is done in stages based on developmental and educational levels. SDIT Assyafiiyah, Garut Regency, uses the Yaumiyyah Tahfidzul Qur'an program habituation as a supplement to Islamic Religious Education, ensuring that students are proficient not only in knowledge and skills, but also in memorizing the Qur'an. The method used in this study is to use an analytical descriptive method with a qualitative approach, namely, to describe or provide an overview of an object under study through data or samples that have been collected as they are without conducting analysis to make general conclusions. The results of this study are the implementation of Yaumiyyah's Tahfidzul Qur'an habituation at SDIT Asysyafiiyah, Garut Regency. Students are divided into several groups, where this grouping is based on the amount of memorization possessed by each student. The learning evaluation of Yaumiyyah's Tahfizul Qur'an Habituation Program conducted at SDIT Asysyafi'iyah Garut Regency is divided into two times, namely, the daily evaluation is carried out by the teacher when students deposit their newly memorized memorization or deposit their memorized pages by giving an assessment of the reading when memorizing such as makhorijul letters, tajwid, and fluency when depositing memorization, while this semester evaluation is carried out after the end of the school final exam, where each student is required by the teacher to read several letters in accordance with the number of memorization, each individually in front of the teacher. Abstract

Di era globalisasi, pendidikan harus menggabungkan transfer pengetahuan dengan pembentukan karakter dan keterampilan abad ke 21 seperti berpikir kritis, kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan komunikasi. Nilai-nilai karakter Uswah Hasanah, yang mencakup kejujuran, kesabaran, keadilan, dan tanggung jawab, sangat relevan dalam konteks ini. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi integrasi nilai-nilai Uswah Hasanah dalam pendidikan abad ke 21 di Indonesia, menganalisis metode dan strategi yang efektif, serta menyediakan panduan praktis bagi pendidik. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan kajian pustaka, menganalisis literatur relevan untuk memahami integrasi nilai-nilai karakter dan keterampilan abad ke 21. Hasil penelitian integrasi nilai-nilai Uswah Hasanah dalam pendidikan dapat menciptakan individu yang tidak hanya kompeten secara akademis, tetapi juga memiliki kepekaan sosial yang tinggi dan kemampuan beradaptasi dengan perubahan.

Abstract

Abstract: Character education has become a critical challenge in secondary education, particularly in learning contexts that emphasize cognitive achievement over affective and behavioral development. Although Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is widely recognized for its potential to foster collaboration and responsibility, character outcomes are often treated implicitly and rarely evaluated systematically. This study aims to develop and evaluate a character-oriented Project-Based Learning framework using a Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology in Islamic secondary education. The research was conducted through iterative design cycles involving problem analysis, instructional design, implementation, evaluation, and refinement. Explicit character indicators were embedded into each phase of the PjBL process and assessed using quantitative and qualitative instruments. Statistical analysis of pretest and posttest data revealed significant improvements in students’ character-related outcomes following the implementation of the proposed framework. Qualitative findings further indicated enhanced student engagement, collaboration, and social responsibility during project activities. The results demonstrate that integrating explicit character indicators into PjBL through a DBR approach enhances the effectiveness of character education beyond conventional instructional practices. This study contributes to the literature by providing a structured and empirically validated framework that bridges Project-Based Learning, Design-Based Research, and character education. The proposed framework offers practical implications for educators seeking to integrate affective learning objectives into active learning environments.
