Abstract

The problems of the research were ”what are the kinds, dominant use, and meaning of sense relations used in Alice in Wonderland 2: through the Looking Glass Movie?”. The objectives of the research were to explain the kinds, dominant use, and meaning of sense relations used in Alice in Wonderland 2: through the Looking Glass Movie. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive method to clasify and analyze the data. The data were analyzed through some steps including identification, classification, reduction, description, and conclusion. After the data were analyzed, the reseacher found the kinds, the dominant use, and the meaning of sense relations used in Alice in Wonderland 2: through the Looking Glass Movie. Sense relations in Alice in Wonderland 2: through the Looking Glass Movie were analyzed in term synonymy, polysemy, homonymy, hyponymy, and antonymy. The reseacher found synonymy 160 words (52%) as the dominant use, the second dominant use is hyponymy 70 words (23%), the third dominant use is antonymy 68 words (22%), the fourth dominant use is homonymy 6 words (2%), the fewest kind is polysemy 2 words (1%). The meaning which has found was analyzed based on speaker sense and linguistic sense. The researcher found 5 words as speaker sense and almost all of the meaning of sense relations has linguistic sense because the meaning of word is lexical meaning based on the dictionary. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the perception of English education study program students at PGRI Silampari University regarding the development of their teaching skills after participating in the Kampus Mengajar program. This research used a qualitative approach in a qualitative descriptive research design. The research subjects were 15 students of the English Education Study Program at PGRI Silampari University who had participated in the Kampus Mengajar Program batches 4, 5, and 6. The data collection technique used was an open-ended questionnaire. Data obtained from the questionnaire was analyzed using three techniques, namely identification, description, and conclusion. The results of this research showed that students who took the Kampus Mengajar program were able to make good planning and preparation before teaching, present lessons that matched the desired learning outcomes, manage time well and effectively, create a positive classroom climate, enforce class discipline by setting clear and consistent rules, assess student progress properly, and reflect on and evaluate teaching well to develop future teaching skills. In conclusion, students' teaching skills increased after participating in the Kampus Mengajar Program.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to describe tag and intersentential code switching found in English young learners classroom interaction at Ganesha English Courses Lubuklinggau. The research questions in this research was they were what were tag and intersentential code switching found in English young learners classroom interaction. Setting of this research were Ganesha English Courses Lubuklinggau. The qualitative approach in descriptive qualitative research design was used in this research because the data was in the form of words rather than the number. The data were collected by means of the observation and interviews. Then the data were analyzed by using transcribing and analyzing. The result of this research show, there were found 31 data; (1) 15 tag codes switching, and (2) 16 intersentential codes switching.

Abstract

This research analyzes the types of illocutionary acts. Therefore, the problem of this research is "What types of illocutionary acts are found in the Nightbooks movie?. The aim of this research is to describe the types of illocutionary acts found in the Nightbooks movie. Data is analyzed through several steps including identification, analysis, classification, description and drawing conclusions. The author uses descriptive qualitative research to collect data, through several steps including watching movie, listening to speech in movie, identifying and classifying data. After investigating the types in the movie, the author found several findings. The illocutionary acts in the movie can be analyzed into several types, namely 5 commissive acts, 4 representative acts, 6 directive acts, 4 expressive acts and declarative acts. In summary, the illocutionary acts used in the movie aim to analyze the types of illocutionary acts used in the Nightbooks movie.
