Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of learning media in improving students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning in the Higher Class. This type of research is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative research type with library research from research journals in previous years to be used as research subjects. This research is sourced from several journals that are relevant to the topic of the discussion on Learning Media on Social Studies Critical Thinking Skills for Elementary School Students. The results obtained are the use of learning media is very effective and efficient in its use, depending on what learning media is used and the selection of learning media in accordance with the provisions of the social studies material being taught adds to the usefulness of the use of learning media.

Abstract

Teacher competence is a set of knowledge, skills, and behaviors that must be possessed, internalized, and mastered by teachers in carrying out their professional duties. Teacher competencies as learning agents at the primary and secondary education levels as well as early childhood education are: pedagogic, personality, professional, and social competencies. With skill requirements, a teacher must master the skills covering: opening and closing lessons, asking questions, providing reinforcement, and conducting various teaching. In the teaching and learning process, the teacher also acts as a director as well as an actor. This factor is very important so that it is expected to determine the success of the teaching and learning process in the classroom. The type of research used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative type of research. The results of the study obtained that the competence possessed by a teacher in teaching greatly affects the learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Indonesia is currently facing several curriculum changes in its education system. The success of the curriculum depends heavily on effective curriculum management. This study was conducted to analyze the management of the Kurikulum Merdeka and its role in fostering a learning environment that increases student motivation at SMAN 18 Bandung. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach and collected data through interviews with the Vice Principal for Curriculum and Student Affairs and the economics teacher at SMAN 18 Bandung. The purpose of the interviews was to examine in greater depth the issues raised by the author, thereby providing a clearer picture of the informants' perceptions. The researcher used documentation and documentary evidence from the KSP SMAN 18 Bandung and the Accounting Teaching Module for grade 12 students at SMAN 18 Bandung. Schools need to maintain and further develop adaptive curriculum management strategies to develop more contextual teaching materials, thereby increasing the relevance of learning. The research findings indicate that the management of the Kurikulum Merdeka at SMAN 18 Bandung significantly increases student motivation through adaptive curriculum management strategies aligned with students' interests and talents. Although the implementation process took considerable time, this significant improvement is sufficient to make SMAN 18 Bandung successful in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka.   Abstrak Indonesia saat ini menghadapi beberapa kali perubahan kurikulum dalam sistem pendidikannya. Keberhasilan kurikulum sangat bergantung pada manajemen kurikulum yang efektif. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis manajemen Kurikulum Merdeka dan perannya dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar murid di SMAN 18 Bandung. Pendekatan penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengambilan data dengan wawancara kepada Wakil Kepala Sekolah bidang Kurikulum dan Kesiswaan, serta guru mata pelajaran Ekonomi SMAN 18 Bandung. Tujuan wawancara yang dilakukan peneliti adalah untuk menggali lebih dalam terkait isu yang penulis buat, sehingga mampu memberikan gambaran nyata tentang kondisi persepsi narasumber. Peneliti menggunakan dokumentasi dan bukti dokumen KSP SMAN 18 Bandung serta Modul Ajar Akuntansi murid kelas 12 di SMAN 18 Bandung. Sekolah perlu mempertahankan dan mengembangkan strategi manajemen kurikulum yang adaptif dalam menyusun perangkat ajar yang lebih kontekstual, sehingga relevansi pembelajaran semakin tinggi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen Kurikulum Merdeka di SMAN 18 Bandung memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar murid melalui strategi pengelolaan kurikulum yang adaptif dan relevan terhadap minat bakat murid. Walaupun hasil implementasi memakan proses yang cukup lama, namun dengan peningkatan yang signifikan ini cukup membuat SMAN 18 Bandung dapat dikatakan berhasil dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka.
