Abstract

Indonesia is a country rich in ethnic, cultural and religious diversity, which is both a strength and a challenge in maintaining social balance. This diversity requires special efforts to build strong social ties, especially among teenagers as the nation's next generation. This research aims to identify the problem of adolescent inactivity in inter-ethnic social activities and offer solutions to strengthen these social ties. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method in Niur Village, this research found that lack of motivation and access to inter-ethnic activities as well as stigma and stereotypes were the main factors causing adolescent inactivity. To overcome this problem, multicultural education approaches and inclusive social programs that encourage positive interactions between ethnic groups have proven effective in increasing youth participation and strengthening social cohesion. The results of this research show the important role of education, social programs, and changing perspectives in society to create a generation of teenagers who are more active, tolerant, and contribute positively to social cohesion in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

This study arises from the pressing need to incorporate technology within the framework of Islamic character education at Permata Bunda Early Childhood Education (PAUD), a domain that has received limited attention. As a response, this research seeks to make a meaningful contribution by promoting technology-driven approaches in early childhood education. This study aims to explore the impact of online learning media on the development of Islamic character in students at Permata Bunda PAUD, Bengkulu City. Employing a qualitative approach and a case study method, the research involves students, teachers, and parents as subjects to understand the dynamics of applying online media in Islamic character education. The findings indicate that online learning media, such as interactive videos, Islamic songs, and religious education applications, positively contribute to instilling values of honesty, discipline, compassion, and responsibility in students. However, its implementation has significant challenges, including limited technological infrastructure, teacher competency, and parental involvement. This study underscores the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and educational technology developers to maximize the benefits of online media in Islamic character education. Recommendations are made to enhance teacher competency, provide technological infrastructure, and involve parents in supporting the learning process.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of spiritual motivation and institutional support on teaching efficacy among volunteer teachers in pesantren across Jambi Province, Indonesia. A cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 218 volunteer teachers from 24 pesantren. Data were collected using adapted instruments measuring spiritual motivation, perceived institutional support, basic psychological needs satisfaction (autonomy, competence, relatedness), and teaching efficacy. Structural equation modeling (SEM) with partial least squares (PLS-SEM) was used for data analysis. The results reveal that spiritual motivation significantly and positively influenced teaching efficacy (β = 0.39, p < 0.001), both directly and through the mediation of satisfaction of basic psychological needs. Institutional support also exerted a significant positive effect on teaching efficacy (β = 0.31, p < 0.001), primarily mediated by the satisfaction of competence and relatedness needs. The interaction between spiritual motivation and institutional support produced a synergistic effect that enhances the fulfillment of all three basic psychological needs. These findings extended SDT by demonstrating that spiritually grounded intrinsic motivation, when coupled with structured institutional support, creates an optimal motivational ecology for volunteer teachers in faith-based educational settings. The implications of this study indicated that PBL can be used as an effective alternative learning model to improve students’ learning outcomes and social attitudes in Islamic integrated elementary schools

Abstract

This research is motivated by the urgency of internalizing spiritual intelligence in the midst of moral challenges in the elementary school era. This study aims to analyze the implementation, implications, and supporting or inhibiting factors of the habit of reading and memorizing short surahs of the Al-Qur'an at MIS Al-Islam, Bengkulu City. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that: 1) The habituation is integrated into the school’s routine program, specifically through collective morning recitations that involve all school members; 2) This practice significantly enhances students' spiritual intelligence, manifested in increased self-awareness, responsibility, and the ability to find spiritual meaning in daily activities; 3) While adequate facilities and teacher commitment act as primary catalysts, low student enthusiasm and inconsistent discipline remain key challenges. This study concludes that structured Qur'anic habituation is a vital instrument in shaping the spiritual character of students in Madrasah environments.
