Abstract

The flood can affect an area so cause great loss. Muaragembong is one of the sub-districts in Bekasi Regency. This area is known as an area that is regularly hit by floods. The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in flood areas, specifically those related to residential areas. The results showed significant changes in the flood area from 1993 to 2016. Increased changes in land use from swampy areas and mangrove forests to residential areas are thought to be the cause of the increase in flooding every year. One way to reduce the impact of flooding in Muaragembong is to restore the existence of mangrove forests along the Citarum River to the sea. Keywords: Flood, Muara Gembong, Citarum River, Land Use

Abstract

Cigumentong and Cimulu sub-watersheds are growing at vokanik denudasional landform with geological formations of undeferienciated old volcanic product consists of tuff , breccia and lava of the uppermost of Citarik Sub-Catchment . Based on the order system according to Strahlaar both river is a river -order 4 , with the land cover of relatively dense forest vegetation with an area of 552 Ha respectively and 606 Ha . This study aims to investigate the flow discharge characteristics of the two rivers by measuring daily and daily rainfall during the period 20 December 2014 through to March 2015, or for 71 days . The research result is fluctuations in flow discharge rate between the River Cigumentong and Cimulu tend to be similar . Inlfiltration coefficient of Cimulu sub-watersheed was slightly larger (0.54)than that was Cigumentong sub-watersheed (0.53), with the infiltration thickness of 695 mm for Cimulu and 577 mm for Cigumentong. Runoff coefficient Cimulu sub-watersheed is larger (0.44) than Cigumentong (0.37) .

Abstract

Upper Citarik Catchment has an area of about 30,41 Km2 or around 30.000 Ha. Based on topographic map “Rupa Bumi Indonesia”(RBI), the upper area of the catchments still covered by forests which can restrain the increase of runoff coefficient. There is also water fall “Curug Cinulang in the Catchment, the interesting natural tourist attractions that push the growth of economic activities and tourism facilities, changing land use which can increase runoff coefficient and improve flow discarge. The research method used was land use mapping based on the Topographic Map “RBI” with scale of 1 to 25000, and measurements of each land use types using GIS techniques. Discharge estimation using empirical formula and measurements in the field. The results showed dense forest cover, plantations, and scrub affect the coefficient runoff. Forests affect the stability of the river flow based on measurements and calculations with different assumptions rainfall intensity. The river discharge was relatively stable at stations 6 and 7 with more than 90% of land covered by good forest.

Abstract

AbstractThe research of  water  yield  based on  river flow  of   Upper  Citarik Catchments, West-Java aims to get water yield data and to analyze flow discharge of small rivers in Tanjungwangi Village, Cicalengka Sub District, Bandung Regency, and small rivers in  the village of  Sindulang,  Cimanggung Sub-District, Sumedang Regency, West Java.  The research  method  is by measuring the flow discharge of the river using "current meter" and  measuring daily  rainfall with  rainfall  measurements  devices manually. The results showed that daily average  water yield  in the  south ,sub-sub-catchments which is in the village of Tanjungwangi smaller that of the north  sub-catchments in the village of Sindulang  due to the percentage of water that infiltrate in to the groundwater, sub-catchment in south were larger.
