Abstract

Radicalism in the name of religion has spread and took root in various universities in Indonesia through, among others, the student activity unit (UKM). This condition needs serious attention from campus officials in order to prevent the students from radical ideology. This is because the main value of religious moderation promoted by Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs includes commitment to nationality, harmony, anti-violence and wisdom towards local culture, which aims to prevent radicalism from being implemented optimally, so that it can endanger student morality. This article aims to portrait the transformation process of UKM da'wah named Al-Fattah, which has been indicated to have radical ideology, into a moderate da'wah unit through religious moderation value education. This participatory action research emphasizes joint learning, participation, and organizational transformation. Through in-depth analysis, the results show that after changing the name from Lembaga Dakwah Kampus Al-Fattah to Korps Dakwah Islam Nusantara, this da'wah unit began to spread moderate Islamic values, or what commonly refer to rahmatan lil alamin. The transformation does not occur only in the aspect of name, but also on the philosophical basis, principle, vision, symbol, and materials for cadre activities. Research contributions include strengthening government programs in order to participate in realizing the religious moderation program launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Abstract

This study aims to transform critical land governance based on Islamic spiritual values contained in the community's economic importance and environmental conservation values. This study used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which was taken through 2 stages, each consisting of 4 procedures. The research involved the community in Dawuhan Village, Sirampog District, Brebes Regency, who worked together to solve problems regarding critical land. The research results show that the management of fundamental land transformation is carried out through coffee planting. This transformation is based on environmental conservation values and community economic values. The minimization of critical land status in Dawuhan village shows the importance of environmental conservation. In contrast, the economic value of the people in Dawuhan village has increased sharply after the transformation of management. The minimization of the status of critical land in Dawuhan Village is known from the increase in land planted with thorny trees (pine, coffee, and so on) from 20% to 30%. The increase in the economic value of the people in Dawuhan Village is shown by the increase in coffee yields from 1 ton to 5 tons. The growth around perennials and the economy was obtained after the implementation of the PAR conducted in this study.

Abstract

The spiritual quotient (SQ) has a vital role in humans because it serves as the foundation of other intelligence. This study aims to present new insight on the taxonomy of the SQ learning outcomes for students, namely from the tasawwuf perspective. Using a qualitative meta-synthesis approach to explore various sources related to the taxonomy of the SQ learning outcomes through interpretative process, the study found that, in general, the SQ helps a person develop into a complete human being through the inclusion of the sense of worship in every action and thought. The taxonomy of the SQ learning outcomes includes the dimensions of taubat, wara’, zuhud, tawakal, zikr, khalwat, ikhlas, and ridla. If implemented in Islamic education, the said taxonomy will help students know their God, prioritize their conscience to solve problems in life and the learning activity, live life more meaningfully, and be motivated to benefit themselves and others in their learning process. Taken together, these findings strengthen the view that the spiritual quotient can make other intelligence function more optimally.
