Abstract

Hamka is a scholar and intellectual who mastered various fields of science, including tasawuf, education, literature, culture, tafsir, jurisprudence, journalism, politics, and so forth. This expertise is what makes researchers to examine his thoughts in terms of each experts expertise. It is also the background of researchers to consider the thought Hamka reviewed through psychology and counseling. His thinking is about the personality who is reflected from his various works. This study uses literature review approach to review Hamka thinking about personality, so that analysis technique used content analysis. Sources of data used are scientific works written directly by Hamka discussing about the personality, and supported by other relevant works. Hamkas thoughts about personality are explained through four things that she thinks to have a major effect on ones personality. Four things are things that can cause personality, things that can strengthen the personality, things that can weaken the personality, and things that can improve the personality.Keywords: Hamka, Personality, Psychology and Counseling

Abstract

Islam teaches the difference in someone's level of religiosity. The level of human religiosity can change from one moment to another. Humans have evolved a religious life. Including human experience in adulthood elderly in life and face the problems of life. This study focused on the real description of the attitude of religiosity which is owned by the elderly. The study was taken from the students at the boarding school Elderly Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) of Roudlotul Muta'allimin Dracik Kramat Batang. The research method used descriptive qualitative approach to straight dialogue (interview) of the respondents, namely the students of Elderly Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren). The study results showed that each of the students have the different religious involvement in filling elderly period (retirement). The involvement includes Ritual Involvement, Ideological Involvement, Intellectual involvement, experimental involvement, and consequential involvement.

Abstract

This research intend to describe about anxiety experienced by the new students of Islamic Boarding School Al-Hadi Pekalongan. The scope of this research there are objective anxiety and neurotic anxiety. The method who used inthis research is Qualitative Descriptive and using Miles and Huberman?s data analysis techniques. This research shows that the new student of Islamic Boarding School Al-Hadi Pekalongan have free floating neurotic anxiety. In this case, student revealed that himself often experienced anxiety to something not real. The student get the expectation, however accompanied also with anxiety or can be called anxious. This anxiety is named a free floating neurotic anxiety. The role of guidance and counseling to lowered the anxiety learning of new student is trough cognitive counseling. Cognitive counseling emphasize to counselee belief so that able to change negatif thinking and maladaptif thinking to be positif thinking and adaptif thinking. Trough this positif thinking the anxiety learning student will be come down even disappear.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of cross-cultural and religious counseling services in MTs Negeri Yogyakarta 2, as well as the effectiveness of these services in helping students overcome the problem of independence in emotional aspects. This type of research is qualitative field research. The research subjects were grade IX students, who had different cultural and religious backgrounds. The data collection method uses the method of observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques using critical analytical methods. The results showed that MTs Negeri Yogyakarta 2 had implemented cross-cultural and religious counseling services well, and proved to be effective in dealing with students' problems regarding the problem of independence in emotional aspects. This can be shown from the existence of significant changes from students regarding their interactions with peers, as well as their ability to determine future choices in the career field. The data obtained can be formulated into alternative paradigms by counselors or guidance and counseling teachers in providing cross-cultural and religious guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

It is undeniable that religion is something that is needed by humans. Where religion is used as a benchmark and guide for the survival of his life. Therefore, it is very necessary the implementation of religious research that can make a major contribution in understanding what religion really is. In Indonesia, religion research has begun to emerge, but the results do not contribute to understanding what religion is. This was revealed by H. A. Mukti Ali who explained that religious research so far had not used the right method in its implementation. So he formulated a method called the synthesis method in response to his anxiety about the shortcomings of religious research so far. Through this method, religious research developed by Mukti Ali can produce the latest research results related to understanding of religion, including Islam. Because what is obtained is not only doctrinal, but also scientific in studying matters of religion. Thus, religious research can contribute or contribute to various other scientific disciplines, such as social, cultural, political, economic, including can also make a major contribution to the development of the concept of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of cultural humility in the students. The scope of this study includes the positive characteristic characteristics, and negative characteristic reflecting superiority and making assumptions. The results of the study indicate that the profile of cultural humility in each student can not be separated from activities or activities in everyday life. This shows that cultural humility is an ability that is not automatically owned by individuals. A special development program is required for cultural humility to be mastered well by potential counselors. One of these is the personal humility development guidance program. Through the guidance program is expected to grow cultural humility which eventually can be obtained endpoint of cultural humility in the form of the character of flexibility or humility of the individual when interacting with others.

Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research is the same objective of Hamka’s concept related to modern tasawuf with the concept of Islamic education which aims to create qualified human being by balancing the physical and spiritual life. This study uses library research method through intellectual biography approach and content analysis in analyzing the data. Research result shows that according to Hamka, there are two main dimensions which appears from human beings; they are dimension of vertical submission to God and dimension ofhorizontal dialectic with the surrounding societies. Therefore, in order to realize the objective of Islamic education, it is necessary to provide Islamic learning material which can develop students’ potential in expressing their competence.AbstrakPenelitian dilatar belakangi oleh adanya persamaan tujuan antara konsep tasawuf modern Hamka dengan konsep pendidikan Islam, yakni terciptanya manusia yang berkualitas dengan adanya keseimbangan antara kehidupan jasmani dan rohani. Permasalahan dibahas menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research) melalui pendekatan intellectual biography. Beberapa karya ilmiah Hamka dijadikan sebagai sumber utama pada penelitian ini, dengan didukung karya ilmiah lain yang relevan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan teknik analisisis dan interpretasi data. Pemikiran Hamka mengenai pendidikan Islam dapat dilihat dari rumusan tujuan pendidikan Islam yang tidak jauh berbeda dengan konsep tasawuf modern Hamka, yaitu terciptanya dua dimensi utama yang muncul dari diri manusia, yaitu dimensi ketundukan vertikal kepada sang Khalik dan dimensi dialektika horizontal terhadap sesama dan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, untuk mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan Islam tersebut dibutuhkan muatan materi dan proses pendidikan Islam yang mampumembantu mengembangkan potensi (fitrah) manusia (peserta didik), sehingga ia dapat mengekspresikan seluruh kemampuan yang dimilikinya. Peran pendidik yang memiliki kepribadian dengan kehidupan kerohanian tinggi diperlukan dalam proses pendidikan Islam, dimulai dari keluarga (in-formal), sekolah (formal), sampai masyarakat (non-formal), sehingga dapat membantu peserta didik dalam mengembangkan potensinya serta memiliki kekuatan cita-cita yang dinamis dan religius dengan diikuti kekuatan iradah yang tinggi.

Abstract

Perdebatan panjang yang terjadi dalam pengembangan konsep konseling islam oleh para ahli dari berbagai negara menjadi isu aktual yang menarik untuk dibahas. Hal ini memperjelas kemana arah pengembangan konsep konseling islam, sehingga ditemukan ciri khas dari apa yang sebenarnya dikaji dalam konseling islam. Penelitian ini membahas tentang perdebatan tersebut yang bertujuan untuk memetakan konsep konseling islam dari berbagai ahli, dengan menggunakan 3 artikel utama dari 3 tokoh yang memiliki pendekatan berbeda dalam mengembangkan konsep konseling islam. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah analisis isi (content analysis), yakni proses penguraian data, pengkonsepan, dan penyusunan kembali dengan cara baru. Langkah-langkah yang ditempuh dalam analisis isi meliputi, Open coding, axial coding, dan selective coding.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan konsep konseling islami merupakan suatu hal yang baru dalam dunia konseling. Oleh karena itu, sudah sewajarnya apabila dalam proses pengembangannya menuai pro dan kontra dari pihak-pihak pendahulu yang sudah memiliki metodologi dan konsep keilmuan yang sudah teruji, baik secara teoritis maupun praktis. Pihak-pihak yang kontra dengan pengembangan ini ialah mereka yang tidak mengakui adanya dimensi spiritualitas yang menjadi sasaran utama dalam konsep konseling islami, beberapa diantaranya ialah Freudian, Adlerian, dan lain-lain. Adapun pihak yang terus memperjuangkan pengembangan konsep konseling islami ialah para cendekiawan muslim yang sebagian besar berasal dari Afrika Selatan, Asia, dan Amerika. Dalam mengembangkannya pun tidak sedikit dari mereka yang menemukan hasil yang berbeda. Hal ini disebabkan oleh penggunaan sudut pandang atau pendekatan yang berbeda dalam merumuskan konsep konseling islami. Keadaan seperti ini semakin memperkuat posisi pengembangan ini sebagai isu dalam dunia konseling. Kata Kunci: Konsep, Konseling, Konseling Islam.
