Abstract

Kastela coastal waters are one of the tourist attractions in the coastal area of ​​Ternate city where seagrass is found. Information related to diversity, density and, the diverse cover is still lacking and has not been supported by previous scientific research, especially in the area of ​​Kastela Beach. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the diversity, density and, cover of seagrass species on the Kastela coast, South Ternate. Seagrass diversity in Kastela Beach includes 6 types of seagrass, namely: Halodule pinifolia, Halophila ovalis, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium and, Enhalus acoroides. Based on the Shannon-Wienner index, the diversity of seagrass on the beach is classified as moderate with a value of 1.42 (station 1), 1.46 (station 2), 1.29 (station 3). Seagrass species Thalassia hemprichii has the highest density among seagrass species found on Kastela Beach with a density value of 580.27 individuals/m². At station 1, 358.27 individuals/m². At station 2, and station 3 it was dominated by Halodule pinifolia species as many as 326.53 individuals/m². For total seagrass closure at each station, especially station 1 and station 2, it was classified as rich or healthy (>60 %), where the value of station 1 was 124.16%/m², and station 2 was 95.2%/ m². Station 3 is classified as less healthy or less rich with a value of 59.79%/m².

Abstract

The diversity of fish in marine waters is more than in lakes. However, the lake also has high fishery potential, one of which is Singkarak Lake, Solok Regency. On the island of Sumatra, the first largest lake is Lake Toba, while the second is Lake Singkarak. On the one hand, there are several human activities around the lake that cause a decrease in the production of fish catches, such as fishermen who often catch fish with tools that are not environmentally friendly, are not selective and lead to overfishing. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine the potential for fish production in Lake Singkarak based on the value of chlorophyll-a and abundance of phytoplankton. The method used is a survey method. The data analysis process includes analysis of fish production potential on the value of chlorophyll-a and analysis of fish production potential on phytoplankton abundance. Based on the chlorophyll-a value, the estimated fish production potential in Singkarak Lake is 4,663 tons/year and based on the abundance of phytoplankton, the fish production potential is 21,852 tons/year.

Abstract

Increased trade flows of international and domestic fishery coomodities in the opportunity to enter and spread Hama penyakit Ikan Karantina (HPIK) caused by pathogenic organism, namely bacteria, parasites, fungi, and viruses. This study aims to identify whether freshwater fish commodities in domestic traffic are infected with parasites, the bacteria Edwardsiella ictaluri, TiLV (Tilapia lake Virus) and the fungus Aphanomyces invadans at the Fish Quarantine Stasion, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Jambi. Fish samples consist of 15 fish samples to be tranported. Based on results of the examinatoin of fish diseases, Parasite Examination there were 4 parasites with 3 types of parasites, namely 2 parasites of Dactylogyrus sp. On the gills of Tilapia and catfish. One (1) parasite Gyrodactylus sp. On fish slime Stripe 3, and 1 parasite Camallanus sp.in the intestines of betta fish; on bacterial examination of the 4 samples of fish examined, Edwardsiella ictaluri bacteria were nof found; on virus examination the result were negative for TiLV (Tilapia lake Virus); on examination of the fungus with the PCR method, negatif result were obtained for the fungus Aphanomyces invadans which is the cause of EUS (Epizootic Ulcerative Syndrome).
