Abstract

Background: Primary dysmenorrhea is a problem that often occurs in adolescents, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is high so it is necessary for adolescents to understand how to deal with dysmenorrhea pain problems independently.Objectives: This study aims to determine the impact of warm compresses in reducing dysmenorrhea in adolescentsMethods: Pre-experimental research design with one group pretest-posttest type, on 30 female students based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The application of warm compresses was carried out independently, previously given training on SOPs for warm compresses, paying attention to pain using the Verbal Descriptor Scale (VDS) instrument, data analysis using Wilcoxon with a significant level of 0.05.Results and Discussion: The results of the characteristic study found that respondents were at the age of 21 years, the median body mass index (BMI) was 22.2, some respondents had a menstrual period of 27.5 days with regular menstrual cycles and dysmenorrhea that occurred on the first day. The median score before intervention was 5.5 with an interquartile range (IQR) of 1.75 while the median after intervention was 0 with an IQR value of 2. The Wilcoxon test results found a significant reduction in pain before and before warm compresses with a level of 0.000 Conclusion: Compresses have a positive impact in reducing dysmenorrhea pain and can be an alternative to self-care that teenagers can do Keywords: dysmenorrhea; pain; warm compress

Abstract

Kader kesehatan memiliki peran strategis dalam pendampingan terhadap ibu di tingkat komunitas, namun pendekatan yang dilakukan saat ini masih berfokus pada aspek fisik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat peran kader dalam memberikan dukungan psikososial kepada ibu hamil dan menyusui melalui program edukasi. Metode kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan participatory Action Research (PAR), dimana pendekatan ini menggabungkan proses pembelajaran, refleksi, dan tindakan kolaboratif dengan melibatkan masyarakat sebagai mitra aktif dalam mengidentifikasi masalah, merencanakan solusi dan menghasilkan perubahan social yang bermakna. PAR dinilai sesuai untuk program dukungan psikososial karena menempatkan kader sebagai subjek perubahan yang terlibat secara langsung dalam memenuhi kebutuhan psikososial ibu hamil dan menyusui serta merumuskan strategi pendampingan yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan melibatkan kader, ibu hamil dan menyusui di Posyandu Flamboyan II, Kelurahan Cisalak Pasar, Kecamatan Cimanggis Kota Depok. Adapun tahapan kegiatan meliputi tahapan identifikasi masalah, perencanaan kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan dan evaluasi berupa refleksi. Materi edukasi mencakup konsep dukungan psikososial, identifikasi tanda kecemasan dan masalah psikologis, bentuk dukungan emosional dan psikososial dan komunikasi empatik. Hasil menunjukan terdapat pergeseran pemahaman kader dari pendekatan yang berorientasi fisik menuju perspektif yang lebih holistik, dengan meningkatnya kesadaran akan pentingnya dukungan psikososial terdapap ibu. Proses reflektif dalam PAR berperan penting dalam membangun komitmen kader sebagai agen pemberi dukungan psikososial di komunitas. Pendekatan partisifatif ini berpotensi memperkuat layanan kesehatan maternal berbasis komunitas secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Online learning and working from home for educators are changes that must be made by lecturers to continue teaching students. Distance education has the aim of improving the quality of education and the relevance of education as well as increasing equitable access and expansion of education. Distance education that is held with good quality assurance and in accordance with the needs of stakeholders is one of the mechanisms for expanding access to higher education. Subjects and Methods: Systematic review using the database : Google Scholar. The search results that meet the criteria are then analyzed for articles. Results: Online learning has several impacts on students, namely (1) online learning still confuses students to become passive, less creative, and productive, (3) accumulation of information/concepts on students is less useful, (4) students experience stress, (5) increased students' language literacy skills. Conclusion: Online learning has several impacts on students. This can be prevented, one of them is by socializing literacy about the impact of using social media on mental health and academic performance through literacy modules with the aim that learning can be sought to be well received by students without reducing the essence of education itself.

Abstract

Developments in the field of technology are increasingly rapid in this millennial era makes it easy for everyone to socialize with other people from various parts of the world through a link site known as the media social. The general objective of this study is to examine the effect of mobile application on mental health among adolescents in Depok, Indonesia. Experimental design is research used to find the effect of certain treatments on others under controlled conditions. The target population in this study were adolescents aged 15-18 years, and studied in senior high school students. The social media Safe App (bilingual: Indonesia-English language) was developed as a mobile app. The instrument used in this study was DASS-21 scale. The difference between the intervention group and the control group in terms of the average scores on mental health in the control group and in the intervention, group was determined using a bivariate analysis with a paired t-test. Of 200 adolescents in the intervention group, the mean age was 16.37 (SD+2.55), 60% male, and (60%) of them used internet as a source of information. While, in the control group their mean age was 16.34 (SD=2.39), 58.5% male, and 55% of them used internet as a source of information. In the intervention group, DASS score was significantly decreased 5.26 times before intervention and after one month intervention (post-test), with pvalue=0.000. While in the control group, no significant decreased on a total score of DASS (pvalue>0.05. The results of this study can be used as a reference for other researchers who will develop research on the impact of social media use on mental health disorders. Developing a mobile application or website to measure the level of addiction on social media with usage notifications that exceed the safe duration of social media use to limit the intensity of social media use time as a preventive tool against mental health disorders.
