Abstract

In menopausal women, due to decreased ovarian function, the hormone estrogen produced by the ovaries will decrease so that there is a decrease in uric acid excretion in the blood through the kidneys and result in the accumulation of uric acid in the blood. Uric acid levels in the body form crystals that accumulate and can turn into kidney stones, which will cause a person to experience impaired kidney function. One of the renal function tests is urea and creatinine. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of urea and creatinine levels in menopausal women in the Puskesmas Kota Selatan area. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The population of menopausal women was 387 people with a total sample of 20 people using a spectrophotometer. This research was processed through the IBM SPSS Statistics V25.0 program. The results of urea examination at menopause showed that the results of high urea levels were (60.0%) and normal (40.0%) as well as the results of the creatinine examination at menopause showed that the high creatinine results were (60.0%) and the normal ones were ( 40.0%). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that menopause with high urea and creatinine results is more than normal. It is recommended that menopausal women need to have a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Based on data from the Gorontalo Province Health Office in 2018, the city of Gorontalo was ranked third in cases of hypertension. Hypertension is a major risk factor for DM. The relationship with DM is very complex, Hypertension can make cells insensitive to insulin (insulin resistant) while insulin plays a role in increasing glucose uptake in many cells and in this way also regulates carbohydrate metabolism, so that if there is insulin resistance by cells, the sugar levels in the blood can also experience interference. This study aims to determine the description of fasting blood glucose levels in hypertension patients using the high, low and normal POCT method in the working area of the East City Health Center. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a total of 33 samples. Using a glucometer. This research is processed through the IBM SPSS Statistic V25.0 program then the data is presented in tabular form and reported as a percentage using the Frequency Distribution formula. The results showed that the average high fasting blood glucose levels in hypertension sufferers were 15 (45.5%) whereas for hypertension patients who have low fasting blood glucose levels 0% for hypertension sufferers have normal fasting blood glucose levels 18 (54.5%), Suggestions are expected that people with hypertension maintain a regular diet, and for other researchers it is hoped that they can increase the number of samples and use other methods so that the results obtained are maximized.

Abstract

In diabetes mellitus sufferers, there is a hypercoagulation state caused by hyperglycemia, hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance. This can lead to changes in the components that play a role in the function of hemostasis, causing an increase in coagulation activity with a decrease in fibrinolytic activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of the blood clotting time using the Lee and White method in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The total sample used was 20 patients with accidental sampling technique. Using univariate data analysis techniques processed through the IBM SPSS Statistic V25.0 program. The results of the study showed that 60.0% of patients with normal blood clotting time and 40.0% with prolonged clotting time. It is recommended for people with Diabetes Mellitus in addition to controlling blood glucose levels, it is also expected to check blood clotting time.

Abstract

Tuberculosis cases in Gorontalo city have reached 732 cases. Treatment of tuberculosis patients by applying antibiotics which are thought to have side effects on the kidney organs. One such antibiotic is rifampin which causes essential nephritis or inflammation of the kidneys. The purpose of this study was to describe urea levels in tuberculosis patients undergoing intensive phase treatment. The research method is quantitative descriptive research. The population was 45 people with pulmonary tuberculosis who underwent intensive phase treatment at Puskesmas Kota Utara, with a total sample of 10 people. The data analysis technique was processed through the IBM SPSS V 25.0 program. The results showed that urea levels of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were 80.0% normal and 20% increased. It was concluded that the urea level of tuberculosis patients who underwent intensive phase treatment had increased, not due to the consumption of OAT but due to external factors. It is recommended that patients with pulmonary tuberculosis check the level of urea after undergoing treatment, especially patients with elderly people. Abstract

The duration of venous blood damming of 2 minutes greatly affects the results of the examination, because it can cause the results of the examination to increase or decrease and damage the blood specimen. This study aims to determine the number of platelets from the results of the examination of the duration of venous blood sampling using 1 minute and 2 minutes. The method in this study used descriptive quantitative to do two treatments, namely the length of damming the venous blood collection using 1 minute (Normal) and 2 minutes (Abnormal). The results showed that routine blood tests were influenced by pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytic factors. Among them are pre-analytic factors that affect routine blood, the duration of damming venous blood collection for 2 minutes greatly affects the results of the examination, because it can cause the results of the examination to increase or decrease and damage the blood specimen.
