Abstract

The principal as a leader must be responsible for everything in the school. Starting from the problems of educators, students, the teaching and learning process, the quality of education in schools to the existing facilities and infrastructure in schools including libraries. The principal must give full attention to the school library so that the organization can provide maximum benefits to help achieve educational goals in schools. The urgency of the existence and empowerment of school libraries must be fully realized by the principal so that the library is not only a supporting unit in schools but can be a center of learning resources for all school residents. The principal's attention to the library can be done by always providing motivation, advice, guidance, appreciation, supervision and fulfillment of all library resource needs. The principal must seek a budget for the procurement of various library materials, infrastructure, human resources and programs or activities in the school library. The principal can also establish good coordination and cooperation with various parties such as school committees, teachers, parents, education staff, students, residents around the school and even the business world. To be able to achieve this, the attention given by the principal to the library must be based on a high and sustainable commitment and sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Peran perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dalam mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar sangat penting dan strategis. Perpustakaan memiliki peran besar dalam menyediakan bahan bacaan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa dan dosen, dan memfasilitasi akses informasi yang akurat dan up-to-date. Selain itu, perpustakaan juga dapat melaksanakan kerjasama baik dengan pihak internal maupun ekstrenal kampus. Perpustakaan dapat menyediakan ruang dan fasilitas yang memadai untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar dan penelitian, sehingga membantu memaksimalkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Dalam mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar, juga harus tersedianya pustakawan yang memiliki kompetensi dalam memberikan pelayanan penelusuran informasi agar dapat membantu terpenuhinya kebutuhan informasi pemustaka. Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi juga dapat menyelenggarakan kegiatan-kegiatan edukatif yang mengasah soft skill mahasiswa, seperti workshop, seminar, diskusi, dan lain sebagainya yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan kompetensi informasi mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran perpustakaan perguruan tinggi sangat krusial dalam menunjang implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar dan membantu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan efektif bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research evaluates cooperative learning methods for enhancing English writing skills in elementary school students. Emphasizing the importance of English proficiency in the globalized era, the study draws on Ministry of Education and Culture data, highlighting the widespread integration of English curriculum in Indonesian elementary schools. The research addresses the imperative of fostering writing skills, prompted by a national survey revealing that over 80% of elementary students in Indonesia struggle with expressing ideas in writing. Through an extensive literature review, the study explores the rationale, benefits, and challenges of cooperative learning in the elementary English language context. The methodology combines quantitative and qualitative elements, encompassing research design, population, sampling methods, and instruments to evaluate cooperative learning methods comprehensively. Critical examination of previous research findings informs the study's objectives, with the discussion section interpreting research findings and offering strategic recommendations for cooperative learning implementation. Considering the broader educational context, the discussion underscores the need for continuous professional development to optimize outcomes. In conclusion, the research provides valuable insights into the efficacy of cooperative learning in enhancing English writing skills at the elementary level, targeting educators, policymakers, and researchers invested in elevating English language instruction quality in elementary schools.
