Abstract

The principal as a leader must be responsible for everything in the school. Starting from the problems of educators, students, the teaching and learning process, the quality of education in schools to the existing facilities and infrastructure in schools including libraries. The principal must give full attention to the school library so that the organization can provide maximum benefits to help achieve educational goals in schools. The urgency of the existence and empowerment of school libraries must be fully realized by the principal so that the library is not only a supporting unit in schools but can be a center of learning resources for all school residents. The principal's attention to the library can be done by always providing motivation, advice, guidance, appreciation, supervision and fulfillment of all library resource needs. The principal must seek a budget for the procurement of various library materials, infrastructure, human resources and programs or activities in the school library. The principal can also establish good coordination and cooperation with various parties such as school committees, teachers, parents, education staff, students, residents around the school and even the business world. To be able to achieve this, the attention given by the principal to the library must be based on a high and sustainable commitment and sense of responsibility.

Abstract

Peran perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dalam mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar sangat penting dan strategis. Perpustakaan memiliki peran besar dalam menyediakan bahan bacaan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mahasiswa dan dosen, dan memfasilitasi akses informasi yang akurat dan up-to-date. Selain itu, perpustakaan juga dapat melaksanakan kerjasama baik dengan pihak internal maupun ekstrenal kampus. Perpustakaan dapat menyediakan ruang dan fasilitas yang memadai untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar dan penelitian, sehingga membantu memaksimalkan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Dalam mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar, juga harus tersedianya pustakawan yang memiliki kompetensi dalam memberikan pelayanan penelusuran informasi agar dapat membantu terpenuhinya kebutuhan informasi pemustaka. Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi juga dapat menyelenggarakan kegiatan-kegiatan edukatif yang mengasah soft skill mahasiswa, seperti workshop, seminar, diskusi, dan lain sebagainya yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan kompetensi informasi mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran perpustakaan perguruan tinggi sangat krusial dalam menunjang implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar dan membantu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan efektif bagi mahasiswa.

Abstract

This research evaluates cooperative learning methods for enhancing English writing skills in elementary school students. Emphasizing the importance of English proficiency in the globalized era, the study draws on Ministry of Education and Culture data, highlighting the widespread integration of English curriculum in Indonesian elementary schools. The research addresses the imperative of fostering writing skills, prompted by a national survey revealing that over 80% of elementary students in Indonesia struggle with expressing ideas in writing. Through an extensive literature review, the study explores the rationale, benefits, and challenges of cooperative learning in the elementary English language context. The methodology combines quantitative and qualitative elements, encompassing research design, population, sampling methods, and instruments to evaluate cooperative learning methods comprehensively. Critical examination of previous research findings informs the study's objectives, with the discussion section interpreting research findings and offering strategic recommendations for cooperative learning implementation. Considering the broader educational context, the discussion underscores the need for continuous professional development to optimize outcomes. In conclusion, the research provides valuable insights into the efficacy of cooperative learning in enhancing English writing skills at the elementary level, targeting educators, policymakers, and researchers invested in elevating English language instruction quality in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the digital era has significantly impacted adolescent morality, including that of junior high school students. This study aims to describe the forms of moral degradation occurring among students, analyze the roles and strategies of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers in preventing moral decline, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing these strategies at SMPN 3 Aceh Barat. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling to determine informants: the school principal, five IRE teachers, and five students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that although students’ overall moral behaviour is considered reasonably good, various forms of moral degradation are still evident, such as low discipline, lack of courtesy, and misuse of social media. IRE teachers play a strategic role through exemplary behaviour, integrating moral values into instruction, and habituating religious activities at school. Supporting factors for the success of these strategies include teacher commitment, parental support, and a religious school environment. In contrast, the main obstacles include external environmental influences, low internal motivation among students, and limited parental supervision. This study recommends strengthening the synergy between schools, families, and communities to foster morally upright and virtuous student character.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly increased public access to information. However, this condition has not always been accompanied by adequate information literacy skills, resulting in the widespread dissemination of misinformation and hoaxes. This study aims to formulate a model for strengthening information literacy and community libraries based on Islamic values to support the development of a Smart Islamic Society. This research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method by analyzing books, scientific articles, and relevant literature related to information literacy, community libraries, digital literacy, and Islamic values. The findings indicate that contemporary society faces four major challenges, namely low reading interest, underutilized community libraries, unequal digital literacy competencies, and the lack of integration of Islamic values in information practices. The study also reveals that Islamic principles such as iqra', tabayyun, and amanah have strong relevance in shaping responsible information behavior. Furthermore, this research formulates the LIDiS Model (Literacy, Information, Digital, and Spiritual) as an integrative framework that combines literacy competence, information quality, digital technology utilization, and spiritual values. The model positions spirituality as an ethical foundation for information management and digital engagement, thereby contributing to the realization of a critical, adaptive, and value-oriented Smart Islamic Society.

Abstract

Perpustakaan sekolah merupakan salah satu fasilitas penting yang mendukung proses pembelajaran, namun di banyak madrasah keberadaannya belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal akibat keterbatasan koleksi, fasilitas, dan pengelolaan yang belum profesional. Peran kepala sekolah dalam mengambil keputusan yang tepat menjadi kunci utama dalam mengoptimalkan fungsi perpustakaan sebagai pusat sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya, serta menilai dampak keputusan tersebut terhadap optimalisasi pemanfaatan dan pengembangan perpustakaan di MIN 17 Aceh Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, dengan informan yang terdiri atas kepala sekolah, pengelola perpustakaan, guru, dan siswa. Keabsahan data diperkuat melalui triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah MIN 17 Aceh Barat berlangsung secara sistematis dan partisipatif melalui musyawarah yang melibatkan guru, komite sekolah, dan pengelola perpustakaan. Keputusan yang diambil secara bertahap telah membawa perubahan nyata, antara lain penambahan koleksi buku, pengadaan sarana seperti meja dan kursi, serta rehabilitasi fisik gedung perpustakaan. Pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah yang sistematis, partisipatif, dan berbasis kebutuhan nyata terbukti mampu mendorong optimalisasi perpustakaan secara berkelanjutan, sehingga perpustakaan dapat berkembang menjadi pusat pembelajaran yang dinamis dan relevan dalam mendukung peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di madrasah.
