Abstract

The development of coffee plantations carried out by the Government in the future requires a lot of coffee seeds while coffee seed entrepreneurs are very limited. One of the reasons why people/farmers are reluctant to do business in the field of coffee hatchery is the fear of experiencing losses. Therefore this research was conducted which aims to analyze the business in the field of coffee hatchery. Through the interview method, 6 (six) studies were conducted, namely CV. Wana Bhakti, KPT. Sahabat Sejati, UD. Radot, Awaluddin Sitompul, CV. Putra Perkasa and CV.Dharma Nusantara located in North Tapanuli and Pematang Siantar. The results of the business analysis showed that the entire coffee seed producers studied had very large profits as indicated by the net income of 6 coffee producers each of Rp. 429,945,000, Rp. 277,805,000, Rp. 329,845,000, Rp. 288,127,000, Rp. 272,199,000 and Rp. 719,285,000. The results of this study are expected to stimulate the community/farmers to do business in the field of certified coffee hatchery so that it can help the government in providing coffee seeds for the development of coffee plantations in North Sumatra

Abstract

Palm oil has advantages compared to other vegetable oils such as coconut oil, soybean, or sunflower oil, its production per hectare is high, its economic life is long, and its use varies. This study aims to determine the effect of community palm oil production factors in the village of Tebing Linggahara, West Bilah District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The data used are primary data sourced from 176 oil palm farmers, by providing a questionnaire list. The research model is a quantitative model using multiple linear regression analysis techniques, using the SPSS version 16.0 program. The results showed that land area, seed, fertilizer, labor, plant age, and education level had an influence on palm oil production in Tebing Linggahara Village, West Bilah District, Labuhanbatu Regency, but other sources outside of oil palm farming had an effect on production palm oil for the people. The coefficient of determination R2 = 0.867 can be interpreted that oil palm production of 86.7% can be influenced by land area, seeds, fertilizer, labor, plant age, education level, and other sources outside of oil palm agriculture.

Abstract

Palm oil was first introduced in Indonesia by the Dutch government in 1848, at that time there were 4 oil palm seedlings planted at Bogor Botanical Garden (Botanical Garden) in Bogor, two from Bourbon (Mauritius) and two from the Hortus Botanicus, Amsterdam ( Netherlands). Currently the development of oil palm cultivation is increasing with an area of 2017 covering 11.5 million hectares and the production of palm oil (CPO) has reached ± 30 million tons in 2018. The main objective of this research is to find out the influence of the increase of capacity achievement, availability of raw materials and the achievement of oil and palm kernel oil to the performance of oil palm factory, especially the cost of processing so that it can give added value to the company. Based on the result of the research, it is known that the capacity of X1 is negative but not significant. This is in accordance with the hypothesis, the availability of raw material (X2) is negative but not significant and the yield of rendement (X3) is negative but not significant this is in accordance with the hypothesis and capacity though, the availability of raw materials and yields of yields together have a significant effect on the cost of processing. On the basis of this, then the management should increase attention to the capacity of the process, the availability of raw materials and the achievement of rendemen to minimize the basic price.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze several factors, including: farmers' income, the proportion of their own capital, the number of family workers and experience in lowland rice farming on land conversion from paddy fields to non-rice fields in Batu Bara Regency. This research was conducted in sub-districts that had converted the function of paddy fields to non-rice fields in Batu Bara Regency in 2019. The results showed that the net income of lowland rice farming was Rp. 25,220,635 per hectare per planting season or Rp. 18,102,972 per farmer per growing season. The ability of farmers to provide their own capital is 7,258,300 or 74.75% of the lowland rice farming capital. The number of workers in the family is 2.73 people per farmer, while the experience in rice farming is 13.33 years. The area of paddy fields belonging to farmers that has been converted into non-rice fields reaches 0.43 hectares from 0.72 hectares of paddy fields. The proportion of function conversion reached 62.58% of the farmers' rice fields. Partially, the factors that significantly affect the conversion of paddy fields to non-rice fields are the income of lowland rice farming, the proportion of own capital, the number of workers in the family that have a negative effect on land conversion, while the experience of farming lowland rice has no significant effect. Farmers will be encouraged to convert their land if their income and capital capacity are low, while workers in the family are also classified as lacking. Simultaneously the lowland rice farming income variables, the proportion of own capital, the number of family workers, and the experience of farming lowland rice have a significant effect on land conversion.
