Abstract

Abstract

Running is a sport with the largest number of participants worldwide. This sport is one of the most frequently held sports. Iliotibial band syndrome (ITBS) is a common syndrome in runners. It even becomes the second most common injury occurring in 1.6% - 12% of all injuries in runners. ITBS can affect up to 10% of active runners. Excessive tension in the iliotibial band (ITB) causes infection and tissue compression, causing iliotibial band syndrome (ITBS). This research aimed to understand the relationship between running distance and the incidence of iliotibial band syndrome in runners. This study used a correlation study method with a cross-sectional approach. In this study, the authors applied the non-probability and incidental sampling techniques. The samples of the study were 80 runners who had consistently run for more than three months. The research data collection instruments included Ober's test for iliotibial band syndrome and a Google form questionnaire for the respondent history. Hypothesis testing used the Chi-Square. The data analysis on the relationship between running distance and the incidence of iliotibial band syndrome found no relationship. It indicates that running distance does not affect the incidence of iliotibial band syndrome in runners. The authors hope that this research can become a baseline or basis for developing preventive interventions for iliotibial band syndrome.

Abstract

This significant increase in maximum temporal arterial blood pressure is referred to as hypertension. An average systolic blood pressure greater than 140 mmHg, or a systolic blood pressure greater than 90 mmHg, is referred to as hypertension. can also be further understood as an anomaly in capillary circulation pressure. Based on the type of high blood pressure, its causes can be divided into two categories: primary hypertension and secondary hypertension. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of gymnastics (prolanis gymnastics) on heart health fluctuations in gymnastics participants in the Karangasem elderly gymnastics environment. The methodology used in this study was quasi-experimental analytic. The current study used original data collected from a sample of 17 people. April to June 2023 is the completion time of this study. Based on the mathematical analysis shown in Table 2, there was a considerable difference between systemic blood pressure and heart rate (p < 0.05), indicating that prolanis exercise had an impact on systolic blood pressure. However, there was actually no significant change (p>0.05) in systolic blood pressure. Based on analytical analysis, there were significant changes in systolic blood pressure and pulse rate (p < 0.05), indicating that prolanis exercise had an impact on systemic blood pressure. However, there was actually no significant change in blood pressure (p>0.05) in diastolic blood pressure. The Prolanis programme had an impact on systolic blood pressure, but no changes were seen in respondents in Karangasem Village in diastolic blood pressure measurements

Abstract

Sport massage is widely used as a recovery strategy among athletes, yet scientific evidence regarding its effectiveness in reducing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and fatigue remains inconsistent. This tinjauan sistematis aimed to synthesize current findings on the effects of sport massage on muscle recovery, particularly its immediate impact following exercise. A systematic search was conducted across ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, and PubMed using predefined Boolean terms. Studies were screened following PRISMA 2020 guidelines and selected based on the PICO framework. six randomized controlled trials with 286 respondents met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed narratively. Sport massage consistently demonstrated beneficial effects in reducing perceived muscle soreness and improving subjective recovery among athletes. However, its impact on objective fatigue markers, muscle performance, and physiological measures varied across studies and appeared less conclusive. The evidence suggests that sport massage mainly supports psychological and perceptual recovery rather than producing substantial improvements in physical performance. Sport massage can be considered an effective complementary recovery method for alleviating DOMS and enhancing athletes perceived recovery.
