Abstract

This research aimed to study the effect of garlic extract on the growth of stem cuttings of several types of bougainvillea and used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with two factors. First factor is garlic extract in 2 levels, (with or without garlic extract). Second factor 2 is the type of bougainvillea consisting of 5 varieties such as yellow flowers, dark purple flowers, white flowers, red flowers and orange flowers. The results showed that the interaction between onion extract and bougainvillea had no significant effect on all observed variables (sprouting time, number of shoots, shoot length, number of roots, root length, percentage of cuttings sprouted and percentage of rooted cuttings). Garlic extract had no significant effect on all observed variables. There was a tendency for cuttings given garlic extract to show a faster age of budding, more shoots, longer roots and more roots. The type of bougainvillea gave a very significant effect on all observed variables except the number of shoots. Red flowers show the earliest age to start sprouting (16.80 days), the longest shoots (26.03 cm) and the longest roots (9.43 cm). Orange flowers performed the highest number of shoots (4.79), the highest percentage of shoots (96.67%) and the highest percentage of roots (96.67). Yellow flowers showed the latest sprouting time (37.08 days), the shortest shoot length (2.51 cm), the shortest root length (1.56 cm), and the least number of roots (1.06). Dark purple flowers showed the lowest percentage of budding and root percentage (63.33%).

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of growth regulators addition on the growth of cuttings from several types of croton plants. This study was designed using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the type of puring which consists of golok kuning croton (P1), emping croton (P2), raja croton (P3), jet croton (P4), emping croton (P5), cokwe croton (P6). The second factor is without growth regulators (Zo), Rootone-F (Z1) and coconut water (Z2). The results showed that the interaction between PGR and the type of croton gave an insignificant effect on the growth of croton cuttings on all observed variables. Croton type showed a significant effect on all variables observed in cuttings growth except for the percentage of cuttings sprouting. The best cutting growth was shown by golok kuning croton.

Abstract

Kandungan nitrogen dan kalium dalam selada umumnya rendah, yaitu kurang dari dua persen, sehingga masih memerlukan penambahan sumber lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tanaman. Kalium nitrat membentuk ion K+ dan NO3- setelah dilarutkan dalam air sehingga mudah tersedia bagi tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan kalium nitrat pada media tumbuh terhadap peningkatan pertumbuhan tanaman selada dan mengetahui tingkat kekritisan terhadap konsentrasi atau larutan hara listrik dengan penambahan kalium nitrat pada tanaman selada. Penelitian yang dilakukan berupa percobaan pot menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari 12 tingkat konsentrasi atau EC larutan nutrisi dengan penambahan kalium nitrat. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa penambahan KNO3 berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap peningkatan bobot segar dan berat kering pucuk per tanaman. Berat segar dan kering pucuk per tanaman meningkat secara nyata secara kuadratik dengan meningkatnya konsentrasi KNO3. Konsentrasi KNO3 yang optimum untuk pertumbuhan berat pucuk tanaman adalah 12,23 g dalam 100 L air atau konduktivitas listrik setara dengan 2,01 dS.m-1. Konsentrasi P dan K dalam jaringan pucuk tanaman meningkat nyata secara linier dengan pemberian KNO3. Konsentrasi N, Ca, Mg, S, Na Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Al dan B pada jaringan pucuk tanaman tidak terpengaruh KNO3.
