Abstract

This Community Service aims to improve digital literacy skills at Pematang Siantar Methodist Middle School. The training participants were students from Pematang Siantar Methodist Middle School. The basic problems of community service activities at Methodist Middle School are: (1) students' digital literacy skills are still low; (2) the literacy motivation of the community, especially students in vocational schools, to improve their competency is still low; and (3) students' understanding in filtering or selecting appropriate literacy content for developing and improving the quality of their science and technology is still lacking. The methods used were: lecture, practice, discussion, question and answer with partners, as well as monitoring and evaluation of the implementation location. The participants in this PKM activity were 30 people who were part of class VIII students of Pematang Siantar Methodist Middle School. The result of this PKM is an increase in students' interest in reading by utilizing digital devices. In addition, students have the ability to recognize and filter positive and negative content available on the internet. Good results were also obtained in developing students' skills in using social media properly, correctly and safely so that students are no longer trapped in accessing content that is not educational or that reduces their creativity.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Proses mengenali uang kertas bagi individu dengan penglihatan normal berbeda dengan penyandang tunanetra. Orang dengan penglihatan normal dapat membedakan nominal uang antara pecahan melalui pengamatan visual, perabaan maupun dengan cara menerawang. Sebaliknya penyandang tuna netra memiliki keterbatasan visual yang menyulitkan mereka dalam mengindetifikasi perbedaan nilai antar pecahan uang kertas. Para tunanetra selama ini menggunakan cara konvensional seperti melipat pada bagian uang untuk melihat beda nominal uang tersebut dan dengan cara meraba nominal uang ataupun mengenali nominal uang dengan meraba tekstur pada setiap nominal uang. Metode: Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode metode edukasi partisipatif dan demonstrasi langsung. Peserta yang mengikuti kesediaan ini adalah 3-5 orang yang dipilih secara purposive yaitu berdasarkan kesediaan dan kemampuan mereka untuk mengikuti simulasi Hasil: Kegiatan  pengenalan alat pendeteksi uang otomatis bagi penyandang tuna netra di Pematang Siantar terbukti berhasil, ditunjukkan dengan observasi serta analisis dari pre-test dan post-test, tampak adanya peningkatan rasa percaya diri dari 35 menjadi 95. Jika sebelumnya peserta mengalami kesulitan dalam membedakan nilai uang secara manual dari 30 , setelah pelatihan mereka mampu mengoperasikan alat pendeteksi tersebut dengan lebih cepat, tepat, dan efisien meningkat menjadi 90. Kesimpulan: Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengenalan alat pendeteksi uang otomatis terbukti memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penyandang tunanetra dalam mengidentifikasi nominal uang. Efektivitas kegiatan ini tercermin dari peningkatan skor pengetahuan yang diperoleh melalui pengukuran pre-test dan post-test, yang menunjukkan perbedaan yang secara statistik signifikan antara kondisi sebelum dan sesudah intervensi diberikan.

Abstract

The temperature of the human body can fluctuate depending on environmental conditions, particularly the surrounding room temperature. To maintain comfort, a cooling device capable of providing adequate airflow is required, and one commonly used solution is an electric fan. This study focuses on designing and implementing an automatic fan system controlled by an Arduino Uno microcontroller and a DHT11 temperature sensor. The system is programmed to activate the fan automatically when the detected room temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold. In the design phase, the Arduino Uno functions as the core controller due to its ability to process sensor input and manage hardware operations efficiently. The DHT11 sensor measures both temperature and humidity, transmitting the data to the microcontroller, which then delivers a control signal to the relay module. Following the design stage, system implementation is carried out using the C++ programming language through the Arduino IDE. The program continuously reads temperature values from the DHT11 sensor, enabling real-time decision-making. When the temperature reaches the specified limit, the microcontroller triggers the relay, causing the fan to operate automatically. The results of this study show that the fan responds accurately to temperature changes, providing a practical automatic cooling solution.

Abstract

The low level of public awareness, especially in small towns, about the importance of equipping ourselves with foreign language skills. Students are still often afraid to make mistakes when using English. Digital media offers various advantages that can increase the effectiveness of English learning, one of which is the Android smartphone, which can be used as an alternative medium to obtain learning about various English language skills. Students can use it as an English learning tool. Improving English skills through green marketing is an effort to train English communicatively through marketing Lake Toba tourism using English so that students interact directly with foreign tourists and help to promote Lake Toba globally. Collaborative classroom action research with the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The subjects of the study were 23 students of AMIK Parbina Nusantara. The instruments used in the observation were assessment sheets and documentation. The indicator of success in this study is when the average English speaking ability has reached 80%. The results of this study indicate an increase in English speaking skills. This is evidenced by an increase in the average English speaking skills of students in the Pre-action of 60.04%, increasing to 78.08% in the Cycle I action, and reaching 90.51% in the Cycle II action. The English speaking skills of students increased after researchers provided action through android-based digital media through green marketing in the Lake Toba tourist area.

Abstract

Perhatian serius pada kantor Dinas Kehutanan adalah laporan perbenihan/pembibitan tanaman kehutanan merupakan masalah utama didalam menjaga keutuhan informasi yang pada suatu saat akan dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan. Masalah yang di hadapi Kantor Dinas Kehutanan UPT KPH Wilayah II Pematang Siantar yaitu sistem pendataan perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman yang belum praktis dan efisien. Hal ini karena tidak adanya aplikasi yang menunjang untuk mengolah data perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman, sehingga penyajian penelitian ini tentang perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman dilakukan secara sempurna. Masalah yang di hadapi Kantor Dinas Kehutanan UPT KPH Wilayah II Pematang Siantar yaitu sistem pendataan perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman yang belum praktis dan efisien. Hal ini karena tidak adanya aplikasi yang menunjang untuk mengolah data perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman, sehingga penyajian perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman dilakukan secara sempurna. Sistem Informasi Pengelolaan data menggunakan metode Analisis Deskriptif. Solusi yang diusulkan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang ada saat ini adalah dengan membangun suatu aplikasi untuk mengolah data perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman berbasis web untuk memberikan kemudahan membuat suatu penelitian mengolah data perbenihan dan pembibitan tanaman pada Kantor Dinas Kehutanan UPT KPH Wilayah II Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

Layanan cuci steam kendaraan berbasis web merupakan solusi inovatif yang memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk mempermudah proses pemesanan dan manajemen layanan pencucian kendaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menganalisis sistem berbasis web yang memungkinkan pelanggan memesan layanan cuci steam secara online, memilih jenis layanan yang diinginkan, serta melakukan pembayaran secara digital. Sistem ini dirancang dengan antarmuka yang ramah pengguna dan fitur-fitur seperti pemesanan real-time, notifikasi status layanan, dan integrasi peta untuk pemilihan lokasi cuci atau layanan panggilan. Pengujian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini meningkatkan efisiensi operasional bagi penyedia jasa dan kenyamanan bagi pelanggan. Selain itu, sistem berbasis web ini membantu penyedia layanan mengelola jadwal dengan lebih baik, meminimalkan kesalahan manusia, dan meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan. Implementasi teknologi ini diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan bisnis layanan cuci kendaraan serta mendukung perkembangan digitalisasi di industri otomotif.

Abstract

The swift of information technology has motivated numerous people—especially professionals, students, and scholars—to build their digital self-image. A personal portfolio is an effective way to showcase their identity, skills, and work. However, physical portfolios have several limitations, such as being difficult to access, difficult to distribute, difficult to update, less visually appealing, and requiring dedicated storage space. As a solution, a web-based personal portfolio is here to display professional data and individual work in a more structured, interactive, and easily accessible way via the internet. The purpose of this research is to develop and create a personal portfolio website that is responsive, interactive, and easy to use. The development approach used in this study follows  the waterfall model, encomassing the phases of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system was built utilizing PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages, with a MySQL database as a storage medium. The findings of this research are a web-based personal portfolio creation information system that makes it easy for users to display personal data, educational history, work experience, projects, and skills in a professional and attractive manner. Furthermore, this system can reduce reliance on physical portfolios, which tend to be expensive and time-consuming to create. Data updates are also faster and more efficient. With this website, users are expected to build a professional image in the digital world and make it easier for others to recognize and assess their competencies more effectively.
